Needed new furniture for house... purchased entire set of Whalen's Mount Tremblat set of: 1. Desk and Return 2. File Cabinet 3. Bookcase as well as a bunk bed by Hometrends. Very good prices for high quality wood and furniture. Only problem is that Costco doesn't do in-store deliveries. Had to buy items, hold for a day, rent UHaul truck and unload items at home myself. Helpers there were great helping me load the items into the truck... took them around 10 mins max. At home... different story! Took me a good hour to get everything out. So, base line: wonderful products at a great price... but it would be much better if Costco considered delivery for in-store items!

Although the Bay does not always have the highest quality furniture all the time like DeBoer's and other high-priced stores, it does carry some decent quality products for their prices. I am more interested in the modern/deco style and found a very sleek, glass and metal table with mirror that looks wnoderful in my hallway. It was priced at $150 and was worth its price. On another note, my brother bought a bunk bed for his children and it was only $300. I remember doing research on bunks and the prices were usually aroud 500-600, so we both agreed that it was a pretty good deal. Service is always good at the Bay and makes the whole shopping experience very enjoyable.

Best Buy was a decent store in terms of having most products. However, I frequently felt that their prices were too high. Also, their services are also lacking... respect and tact are much needed in some of their customer service people. I needed some wires for a rewiring project I was working on, and when I tried to ask for help, I got redirected three times. Apparantly, no one knows where products are located in their stores. I eventually found what I needed by myself... though I felt it was grossly overpriced. Will look for another store to find my electronic products next time!

Wonderful showroom... gives lots of creative ideas for what to do with my new place too. Had a very patient lady who was willing to help me create a floorplan with the furniture I had in mind which was very helpful in planning the space that I had to work with. Prices are quite high however and although the quality is pretty good, some items cost more than I was ready to pay for.

Went looking in hardware stores for materials for a project but everything that wasn't sold in bulk was so expensive! I really wasn't ready to fork over $11 for a piece of 1X2X4 wood (even though it was good quality wood) but neither did I have space (or the strength) to lug an 8 ft piece of wood ($8) on the GO Train, through the subway to university! And... $1.50-ish for one single acorn nut?! And people wonder why students are sooo broke!

We live in a rather old house and decided to do some renovations, especially to our old windows which suffered from interior condensation in the winter. This was about a year and a half ago. Eventually, we decided to change all the windows of the house. Deluxe windows was very helpful and gave useful suggestions as well. Since I grow a number of orchids and flowers inside the house, frosted glass was suggested and was very effective in giving me just the amount of sunlight needed. Their customer service was also very good. My son's window had a little bit of condensation and they had a worker sent over to fix the window very quickly. There are some companies whose service does not last well after the initial purchase, but I am glad to say that Deluxe Windows lived up to my expectations.

With its many choices for storage, many of which are customizable, I managed to find the perfect closet for my bedroom. I really liked how they had tons of different options (i.e. shelves, drawers, closet doors, wood type) because then I could basically pick and choose whichever ones I needed in terms of how to store my clothes and made matching my wall colour much easier too. And of course, its prices are pretty good for the quality that they give too although sometimes you have to double check for small defects.

Hardware stores all have to work on their prices for items that aren't sold in bulk! Their prices were pretty high, especially for the different nuts and bolts. However, their service was really good... quite a few helpful workers were willing to help out and show where items are located.
