Had a rather unsatisfactory experience at the McKee Show Home in Vista Crossing, Crossfield. We were ambushed by the salesman with an avalanche of nonsensical verbal diarrhea while viewing the show home. He started with asking us the value of our current home, which we have not yet had professionally valued, and firmly implied he could not give us any pricing of current McKee builds, if we can't present him with a current valuation of our existing home. Very strange, as the salesman has no insight into our financial standing, and neither should he have. The only reason I can think of why our finances are of such interest to him, is that he may be thinking of tailoring his prices upwards to correlate with our available money. He continued babbling about his million $ home, and all the builds in Carstairs, which we had no interest in, and what route we should use when driving to Crossfield, how many homes he sold in December, how old he was, etc. After his verbal bombardment of 30 minutes, with not a single price or any information on what McKee Homes offer in Crossfield, we fled the show home in utter disgust. This is in stark contrast with the very professional service we received from Homes by Dream next door, where we were treated like valued prospective customers, our contact details taken, and exiting with a bursting folder with information on lot positions, house plans, build specifications and prices. Avoid the Crossfield show home salesman at all costs. His arrogance, disrespect and abrasiveness is unbearable.

I contacted Clay for a quotation for new lawn installation for me and my neighbours. He was here promptly and on time, took the measurements and provided a very reasonable price, compared to some of the other quotations we also obtained. Clay was here on the promised day and time, and started work immediately with enthusiasm and professionalism. They did everything according to the book, ground preparation, topsoil application, grading, patterned installation and flattening. They finished 2 backyards and the shared front garden, as well as a section beside the garages in 1 day, even accommodating some additions and modifications to the initial plan from my neighbour without hesitation. Everything was cleaned up perfectly afterwards, even sweeping the driveways and road in front of our houses! And he provided all the instructions on how to care for our new lawn. What a great experience and refreshing difference from some of the other anemic related services we have experienced. I can only highly recommend Clay for any sod installations and his detailed and quality work and ethics will leave even the most discerning customer pleased.

We had a fantastic experience working with Mike from Mi Decks. We were presented with an honest quotation for the work, the construction was of high quality and our new deck looks fabulous. If you are looking for quality workmanship, great service and good pricing, you have to look no further than Mi Decks. Highly recommended.

We had all the low-voltage wiring in our house installed by Showcase, and what a pleasing experience it turned out to be. From the very first moment we stepped into Ben Strang’s office, we were served professionally. Ben gave us the best advice in which options to select and also saved us quite a bit of money by recommending that we do not add certain unnecessary features that we will never use. The installation was perfect and we are very happy with our choices. If you require exceptional, honest and professional service, you have to look no further than Ben and Showcase for all your low-voltage home requirements.

We relocated from Calgary to Airdrie earlier this month and used this company as it was recommended by our new home construction company. They were the only company that responded to my enquiries by sending someone to our home to do an assessment and provide us with a detailed written quote. Crissi excelled at this task and she was a pleasure to deal with, answering all our questions and addressing our concerns with enthusiasm. The move was done by three gentleman by names of John, Kevin and Randy. Their overall demeanour and the way they handled our furniture with care was absolutely superb. Except for some very minor scuffmarks, there was no damage to anything or to our new house. And the final price came in well below the quote, that was very reasonable to start with. I can only highly recommend this company if you are looking for professional service and a painless move.

I recently moved into a new home in Airdrie and I approached Shiela’s Window Toppers to do a blind installation for the complete house. The service was great from the start. We were shown all the options and explained all the details very professionally. They went to take measurements at the house, and even recommended a colour for us by looking at the interior colour scheme, as we were somewhat unsure which way to go with such a large selection of available colours. The blinds were delivered on time and were of high quality, the installation was perfect with not a single granule of debris left behind and not a single mark on the walls or window frames. Needless to say, the colour they recommended worked perfectly and looks fantastic! You will be very hard-pressed to find better quality service, product, and installation at a better price, if this is possible at all. I highly recommend this company for all your window covering needs; it is simply perfectly smooth sailing all the way.

We signed for our new home in February of this year and worked with Dan and Suzanne at the Trico Hillcrest show home in Airdrie. Both of them were very helpful from the first meet and we only have the greatest appreciation for their professionalism and customer service. We dealt mostly with Dan and he did an extraordinary job in providing us with all the required information, excellent recommendations, and answering all our questions satisfactorily. He patiently converted almost the entire house measurements from imperial to metric so that we were able to understand it better (Trico, this is the 21st century!) and must have worn his tape measure out, not flinching even once. All our e-mails to him were responded to promptly and he went well beyond his duty in providing sterling service. Dan is an exceptionally good customer-orientated sales manager and we very highly recommend him as a great starting point for a new home purchase.

What a monumental disaster! We have been in our new home for one week today and this is how it looks: Photo 1 – Scratches on medicine cabinet. Photo 2 – Appalling workmanship; schluter is flush with the wall at the top and gradually moves away along a widening gap to the bottom. Photo 3 – Damage to all three the bathtubs in the house. Photo 4 – Piping hanging freely in the air and not safely attached. Photo 5 – Left door opens against the wall; no door stoppers on several doors. Photo 6 – We were told by the inspector that the grading around the house is perfect but this is how it looks. Photo 7 and 8 – this is how our en-suite looks after a week, broken tiles and dust and debris everywhere. Photo 9 – Broken window and torn screen. Photo 10 – Scratched countertop. Photo 11 – Scratched closet door. Photo 12 – Missing kitchen cabinet door and still waiting for the crown moulding to be installed. Photo 13 – Multiple scratches on kitchen cladding. Photo 14 – Multiple kitchen surfaces have a white, dull and ugly appearance. Photo 15 – Guest bedroom is storage area for the shower glass. And a long list of other items, including drywall issues, lighting problems, none of the installed Cat5 cables for the internet are functional, etc., way too numerous to list here. On a number of spots the carpet delivers rather nasty painful pricks to our feet when walking on it. We were informed that this is part of the installation and cannot be helped – yeah, like we were born yesterday. The light above the range is installed incorrectly and there are holes beneath one set of the upper kitchen cabinets, but the inspector said we cannot document those errors because we had to bend down to see it – we are only allowed to record errors while standing up straight – even a kid knows that is not right. The inspector responsible for the final inspection before possession, who was in a great rush, noted but did not document half of the deficiencies and we are living in a world of green tape indicating all the shortcomings and flaws. Trico is very casual about all this and we believe they do not care in the least about our insufferable inconveniences, as there was ample time for them to rectify these issues as the majority of it was present long before possession. We were promised that the tiling will be complete today and the shower glass will follow tomorrow, but this will clearly not transpire at all. We were promised no mess in our en-suite, but it looks like a disaster zone when we returned from work today. Our towels, bath mats, sinks and countertop, bath and everything else covered in a thick layer of dust, and debris trailing on the carpet all the way down to the kitchen. We have e-mailed the warranty department twice with photos showing the problems, but sadly have yet to hear back from them. Our first Canadian home turned out to be the most painful experience of our lives! I cannot recommend strongly enough that you steer well clear of this company when it comes to buying a new home; there are much better alternatives available. This is comfortably a 0 out of 10 score so far.
