AC in Etobicoke

I was given a natural gas BBQ and had a capped gas outlet on my deck but needed to have the quick connect installed. I contacted Air Heating Plus and two other companies. Renato responded by email within the hour and phoned me the next morning to discuss the work and provide a quote. One of the other companies still hasn't called back after 3 weeks! When I decided to go ahead with Air Heating Plus Renato was able to come over within about an hour. He was quick, thorough and very personable. He made sure my gas fireplaces were working after turning the gas back on (and showed me how to restart it if it ever goes out). After this already great experience I was pleasantly surprised to receive a follow up message from Renato to make sure everything was okay and to say he hoped we were enjoying our BBQ!

My bathroom sink had always somewhat drained slowly but started to get progressively worse. I called Franc at Ontario WaterPlumbing & Heating. He updated me in the morning to let me know when I could expect his arrival. He and his apprentice cleared out the blockage and it works perfectly now. Franc is very nice to deal with. I always ask tradespeople a lot of questions as I find it interesting to learn how things work and like to get maintenance tips, etc. Franc answered all my questions, was very helpful and professional to deal with.

My central vac suddenly wouldn't shut off. VacWorks advised me what was likely the problem and suggested that I could save myself some money if I brought the unit in to them. As I suspected it had never been serviced by the previous owners and we were busy trying to get away for vacation I chose to have them come to my home. Lorne was very personable. He arrived just after we discovered that our garage door wouldn't open fully. He showed us how to manually open the garage door before proceding with checking the vacuum and identifying the circuit board as the problem. He noticed that the outlets were difficult to open as they were an old type that had tar on the inside of the cap so suggested they could be replaced for $10 each (which we did). He also noted that while we had a good system, the dust and dirt went straight into the canister. For $35 he could convert it to take bags and provide us with a 3 year supply of bags for $39 (they only need to be changed about every 4 months). We chose to do the conversion as it creates a lot of mess emptying the canister without the bags. As we were leaving for vacation in two days, Lorne worked on our machine overnight and his son Kyle returned the next morning with the cleaned and repaired machine and he replaced the outlets. Everyone one I dealt wth in the company - the lady on the phone in the office, Lorne and Kyle - were very pleasant and professional to deal with.

I have used General Lock Services on three occassions. I have found them to be great to deal with. Very personable, honest advice, etc. Most recently when my key would not turn in my front door lock, they came to assess the problem and did not charge me as they were unable to do the work . Andrew did try to think of other options or solutions, but I needed to get the part from the manufacturer (it was under warranty). Once I received the part, Jennifer at their shop set up a time for Andrew to return. He installed the replacement part, rekeyed my back door and made two spare keys for me. I would definitely use them again.

Precision cleaned the windows, sills and frames on my three storey townhouse. I was very impressed that Brandon called me back very promptly with an estimate and followed up in writing. I wanted to be home for the service. It was raining on and off so Brandon kept me posted by email when to expect his crew to arrive. Andrew and Sean were polite, removed their shoes in the house, etc. They pointed out areas that may not have looked clean due to condensation between the windows. I'm very satisfied with the service.

I moved into a 6 year old townhome recently. I noticed that the granite kitchen countertop had shifted at the join, leaving a rough exposed edge. I also found that the marble bathroom vanity never looked clean - there were scratches and marks that I was unable to remove. I was very pleased with Marble Clinic. They were professional to deal with and provided an accurate quote based on my description of services required. They called several days in before the appointment to confirm and also to let me know in advance that the technician may be arriving closer to 10am rather than 9am. Mike was very hard working. He ground, polished and sealed the bathroom vanity beautifully! It looks brand new! The granite counter was shimmed to level with the other piece and the seam was repaired. He also did a great job protecting the areas he was working in and cleaning up after he was finished. My in-laws recommended Marble Clinic to me after using them to have the marble polished before they moved into their brand new condo.

I noticed a gap where the 2nd floor roof met the dormer on our 3-storey townhouse. I wanted to get it repaired to prevent water, ice and animals from entering. It was difficult to find a company to do the work - larger firms weren't interested in the businesss and smaller companies advertising "no job to small" had poor customer service/response. I was so relieved to discover MrRoofRepair through Homestars. They responded promptly to my inquiry and completed the work on budget and within the week! This is a very professional organization. Trish was great to deal with over the phone confirming the service appointment and billing details. I really appreciated the before and after photos as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

I moved recently and had a number of small plumbing jobs requiring attention (missing handle on main water shut off and on tap in garage, new hoses needed on washing machine). Franc responded very promptly and addressed the problems. He also noticed a minor leak from the handle to shut off my outside taps for the winter so he put in a new O-ring. I used AAA Professional Wildlife Control (also known as "All About Animals" Professional Wildlife Control) as squirrels had chewed through the fascia of my roof and got into the attic. While Gislin (owner/operator) got rid of the squirrel and her young he left an opening which small birds continued to use to enter the attic. The "1-way" door he installed was just an opening in the wire mesh angled to be narrow so that the mother could get out but not return - she would stab herself in her shoulders if she tried!!! I called Gilsin the owner/operator to return and close the hole and he just said something like "that's a recall" and never returned. When I had another squirrel problem 6 months later, GTA Wildlife Removal & Pest control not only fixed the problem properly (real 1-way door which they returned to remove and patched with a shingle),they also fixed the mess that AAA Professional Wildlife Control (Gislin) had left.

I had my furnace serviced earlier this month by AtlasCare, who were recommended to me by my father-in-law. They were very professional, arrived on time and explained everything to me. The servicing was very thorough. The technician checked my programmable thermostat which I was concerned about and showed me how to tell if the programs were working. He also took a look at cold air return which was blocked (I discoved this when my ducts were cleaned). He explained possible service plans I could sign up for without any pressure. He also discussed possible enhancements such as a humidifier to consider if I noticed certain things which would indicate inadequate humidity. I will definitely call AtlasCare in the spring when I have my air conditioner serviced.
