We are writing this review in hopes that someone will read this and stop them from using New Trend Contruction so that they don't fall into the same trap we have. In February of 2014 we moved into our current home and experienced ice damning from our roof,we quickly filed a claim with our insurance company and got New Trend to do the work. Problem is it's October 2014 and we are still trying to deal with them. They told us this job would not take longer than 2 months. Unfortunately due to their careless while repairing our hardwood floors, they completely broke our kitchen tiles adjacent which resulted in having to completely remove our kitchen cupboards in order to properly run the new tile underneath. The inconvenience of not having a kitchen for over a month put aside, is the shoty workmanship that followed. We now have a new floor but the tile layer, decided to use a brokentile in hopes we wouldn't notice. Our cupboards being a dark wood have been pretty beaten up with many nicks and scratches some of the really bad ones they tried to fill and colour in with wood pencils. We had to call them back numerous times to get them to adjust cupboards that after they re-installed wouldn't open and close. The Counter top on our kitchen island was broken which they tried to silicone back together in hopes we wouldn't notice and supported the cracked area with two finishing nails while the silicone dried. After bringing the project manager in and having a "meeting" he promised that the counter top issue would be addressed that was in August. Since that day no one has come back after a badgering number of phone calls for our blinds that have been missing from the front of our house since February and our now newly broken counter top, the project manager came in with a counter specialist to assess the damage, they called us during their visit to say they were going to fill the crack, after we instructed them not to as this would give us an undetermined longevity of our counter top they did so anyways and we now come home to a house that absolutely stinks of solvents and epoxy's and only looks worse that when they started. They then proceeded to tell us it was already broken when they removed it! Luckily what New Trend Construction is not aware of is that this restoration journey has been carefully documented with pictures and videos as proof of faults along the way. We've contacted our insurance company but apparently they paid the contractors out before the work even began and believe it or not that is the industry standard. Its sad that companies such as these give bad names to the rest of the industry that does have good quality of work, communication, and punctuality. We are a young couple and expecting our first new addition to our family and instead of this being a happy time for us we have to deal with this. WHAT A DISASTER!!!
