Let me describe our first impression when Kam came to our house to meet with us to give us a quote. Kam was punctual, polite and very knowledgeable when it came down to providing us with a quote. He created a 3D rendition of our basement layout and a detailed breakdown of cost. There was absolutely no pressure to commit and he was more than willing to answer any questions we had. We had an idea of what we wanted to do with our basement but Kam had some great ideas and feedback to our needs and expectations. Kam was readily available 24/7 and kept us up to date with scheduling of trades. From the get go, Kam's personality, knowledge of the trade and honesty were the deciding factors in making a decision to move forward with Desire. After reading numerous rave reviews, we were able to bring our project manager, Angelo, on board to the project. One word to describe Angelo….Amazing! So amazing that even after getting into a serious car accident, still showed up the next day to our house bandaged up but ready to move full steam ahead with our project and was moving drywall although he was injured. His dedication and attention to detail was impressive. He provided us with some great ideas for our basement and was always trying to improve the design. Angelo was always accommodating to our questions and treated our family with the upmost respect. His commitment to the project was unbelievable and we felt like he was part of the family (especially since we saw him almost every day for 6 weeks) Cost: Desire basements was not the cheapest contractor but also not the most expensive. What stood out for us was the quality of their standards. The tiles, bathroom hardware, hardwood, etc, stood out from the competitors. What was standard with this company was costly upgrades with other contractors. Payment schedule was fair and everything was laid out clearly in the contract. Their on-line catalogue was detailed and gave us an opportunity to browse at our convenience and make informed choices. Workmanship The contractors were very friendly and respectful. They worked diligently and were very accommodating. We had some minor issues upon final inspection that was immediately addressed by Angelo and Kam and rectified. Final Result We love our basement and receive many compliments about how amazing our basement looks. Every time someone asks if we would recommend Desire basements, we always tell them that their work speaks for itself. If anyone has any doubts about hiring Kam and Angelo, rest assured, you are in good hands. They are honest, respectful and hardworking and we are glad that we chose them to complete our basement project. Finishing your basement is a huge investment.
