We had previously done a DIY on our kitchen floor tiles and were never really happy with the results. The floor was not level and was a challenge to novices like ourselves. We called Milorad again (he had previously done our two upstairs bathrooms a year ago) and he certainly did not disappoint! Always on time, always pleasant to work with, and really piaid attention to detail. He was able to re-tile our kitchen floor and was able to lay tiles smoothly around the uneven areas. It took him two days and a bit (to allow for drying/curing) and now we are happy with our kitchen! He also touched up a grout line from one of the bathrooms he did last year at no additional cost. Now that's what I call great customer service! I would definitely use him again for all of our future tiling projects! Thanks, Milorad!

The service received was outstanding - the sales rep was knowledgeable and took time to explain what needed to be done as well as offered some minor value-add services at no extra cost. The installation crew was on-time, clean, courteous, and fast - they were done in less than 3 hours. So far it already feels more comfortable on the second floor and I guess only time will tell if the same will hold true in winter!

Darlene, Jeremy, and (sorry I forgot the other gentleman's name) came to our house to sand and stain our curved stairs. They did a great job and certainly did their best to contain the dust and fumes by sealing off other parts of the house with plastic. Of course, there is only so much this can do, the reality is it will be somewhat of a clean up afterward. Perhaps there is a high-tech machine that sucks all the dust up? At any rate, they were a great crew and started/left on time, and were very friendly and great to deal with. Everyone who has come to our house have been impressed with their work.

We had gone to the Alexanian branch in Mississauga near Battleford. Once there we engaged Leslie who was very knowledgeable and helpful in terms of wood selection and setting up the installation for us. The install itself went on time and on budget - the work (which is outsourced to a subcontractor exclusive to that branch) was precise and well-laid out. Months later, there are no signs of any issues. We would recommend them again!

Over a 2 month period, I undertook demo and full renovation of 2 bathrooms in my home. First I met with Milan Kolakovic to discuss the project. He helped lay out the phases of my renovation where I would be involving his company. The quote was very good and the advice was great! Over the different steps in the project (demo, install and finishing work), Mike Ranger and Daniel Spaeth delivered excellent service. I truly appreciated their advice and guidance throughout the project. After this experience, I'm am now a loyal Mr. Rooter customer. I've signed up for their Advantage plan and look forward to working with them again in the future with other projects. I appreciate the customer service provided from the courtesy calls Mr. Rooter provides the day of appointment to the feedback surveys they solicit. I'm very impressed!!!!

We found Milorad Tiling while doing research on Homestars and selected him based on the reviews and photos of his work. Our project involved two bathrroms (ensuite and main second floor bath) and required tiling the floors and shower surrounds. For the ensuite, we also needed a mortar bed laid down for the shower as we had converted it from a tub/shower alcove to a full-height shower. Milorad came and gave us a quote which we were happy with (which also included waterproofing), and he was willing to come in a couple of times to ensure that everything was being prepped properly. He was also very helpful on the phone as we had a few more questions throughout the preparation process. As he worked on the filing and the shower bed, you can tell that he is very meticulous - he made sure that all the fine details such as grout alignment, symmetry, aesthetics, etc were all thought out and executed well. He takes his time and makes sure that the process is not rushed, and once we saw the finished work you can tell that his attention to detail really gave a nice clean and finished look. On top of all this, he is a very polite and pleasing person and is very patient with all the questions we had. He also works very independently, so you can rest assured that your tiling job is in very good hands. We would very highly recommend him and would hire him again for any more tiling jobs down the road. (More photos to follow once we've completed the finishing touches on the bathrooms.)

After looking for plumbers on Homestars, we found Mr. Rooter as one of the best-reviewed ones. We got a free quote and was also happy to find out that they can do a reno job and not just repairs. We are doing two bathrooms and they will take approx. 3 days' worth of work to get everything done. After the first visit, we are already impressed with their professionalism, cleanliness, and speed. We look forward to the next visit and will post an updated review then.

We were renovating our two bathrooms (ensuite and main) and needed some electrical work done. We found Java Electric on Homestars as one of the best-rated so we contacted them for a quote. Laureano came on site and was able to give a quote for everything we wanted to do. He and the other Mr. Rodriguez (sorry, didn't get the first name) was able to come within a few days of confirming the work and they came right on time. They were able to do a lot of work in 12 hours - new wiring and installation of vanity lights, installation of bath fans, new wiring and installation of pot lights in two walk-in closets, new wiring and installation of shower light. They were really professional and cleaned up really well after (couldn't even tell they were here!), and we were so impressed we asked them to come back to rough-in wiring for a new air tub and replace a light over our garage door. They came back a couple of days after (again, on time!) and finished everything in 3.5 hours. They even pointed out a defect in one of the bath fans, which allowed us to buy a replacement and have them put it in while they were here. We are very happy with their work and would definitely ask for them again in the future!!!

We contacted Juff's Roofing after going through reviews on Homestars. We met Neil, who was very knowledgable and we certainly learned a lot about roofs and venting in one meeting! He provided a quote that was very detailed and let us know exactly what we were getting. We compared his quote to a couple of other "major" installers, and even though they were a bit more expensive, we felt more comfortable that they can deliver what was promised and would have excellent customer service afterward. We contacted Neil a couple more times after the initial meeting and he was very patient with our questions. After getting Juff's for the job, Shawn (Shaun?) and his crew showed up on the day that was communicated (they had to change it once due to weather conditions, which was understandable). They were friendly and worked really well - they had added a couple of people so that they can finish what would have been a day-and-a-half job in a day. The finished product looked great - we had some sheathing replaced, armor guard installed over the whole roof, ice and water dams (we previously had none), added some baffles/vents and had two fan vents/hoses installed for when we attach bathroom fans in the future. Now as you know, 2011 had a LOT of rain during spring - and NO leaks!!! Shaun even went the extra mile and fixed a couple of minor things for us (things we couldn't have reached without a really long ladder) which we really, really appreciated! We know that we expect post-installation customer service from them, however with what we've seen so far, maybe we won't need it! Thanks, Juff's!

We got North Shore Eavestroughing after looking at several reviews on Homestars. We'd contacted Darren and got a quote for replacing our eavestroughs, downspouts, and installing new gutter guards. Darren was very knoweldgeable and gave us a detailed quote that let us understand exactly how what went into the quote. Darren and his crew started the job on the date that was communicated (given that it had to change once due to weather). On the day that they were to start was the first snowfall of the season - the crew stuck it out and finished in a day! We are very happy with the finished product, and were very impressed with how they cleaned up after they were done. We would recommend them anytime!

Thanks! Its great that you mentioned that you received a detailed quote as it is the first step in deciding on a contractor to perform your work. No proper paper work or cash deals can be red flags for potential problems farther on.

We found Ashlar Landscapes on Homestars and were impressed by all the reviews, so we decided to give them a try. Daimon offered a free estimate (unlike other ones we contacted before) which was a big plus, and upon meeting him, we found him to be very honest, knowledgeable, and straightforward with what can and can't be done. We also offered very good design choices and options, and later presented us with a quote that was clear, concise and let us know what was included. He was also very accomodating to our follow-up questions and requests to visit. We definitely do not regret our decision to go with him. In the space of less than a week, we has able to complete all the work we agreed upon (replaced the old back patio with a bigger, more modern one; made a huge side garden bed; repaired the front walkway...among others). Daimon and the guys were totally dedicated to the job - they started on time (if not earlier) and stayed until they finished what needed to be done that day (which took them past 5:00 some days). They were good in communicating ahead of time if there was a possibility that they may need to reschedule things due to the weather. The finished product was incredible! We're definitely in love with the patio now and find ourselves spending a lot more time there. We are very happy with Daimon and Ashlar Landscapes, so much so that we've asked him back to do some more work for us this fall. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you then!!!

We had just moved into a new home and called Kevin to do some work for us upon the recommendation of our real estate agent. It involved removing popcorn ceiling on two stories and opening up a wall into our kitchen (while closing up another entrance). Kevin and his team were there as scheduled and were prompt every day for the whole project. He also coordinated the installation of the potlights with a team of electricians, and throughout the whole project he and his team did a lot of value-add work (such as patching up after the electricians). The project was done on time and on budget (even though the time constraint was pretty tight). What impressed us about Kevin is that he takes a whole view of what needs to be done and makes recommendations accordingly for work not just in the current project, but for other things that could be done in the future. His team also gets an "A" grade from us, they worked non-stop and each were very knowledgeable in the work they did. They were also very friendly and polite. We certainly look forward to having Kevin do more work for us in the future (like a bathroom reno). Thanks guys!!

We called Waterworks based on reviews from Homestars to do some plumbing work for us. We had just done a kitchen reno and needed to restore the plumbing from the main line to the sink, faucet, and dishwasher, and to re-attach the drain. We also had them install the dishwasher. The phone staff was friendly and great in setting up the appointment. George the plumber was prompt and presented us with the company standard binder to show us the pricing for the work we wanted done. The work was done in half a day (much quicker than if we had to do it ourselves) and everything looked good. All throughout, George was courteous and professional and cleaned up after. The only comment I would have is with regards to the price "menu" and the clarity around how it applied to our particular situation. One part of the work we were charged for was for "Installation of sink - other" which to us meant that the work included the mounting of a third-party sink (yes, Water Works also supplies sinks!). However, the sink was already mounted to the countertop, so I would think that there should be another "menu item" that was just specific to plumbing, unless, of course, we interpreted it differently. Other than that, great job! Follow-up comment: We had noticed our faucet leaking a day or so after the work was done. We called for a follow-up and was assured that since it was a recall that there would be no cost. However, when the faucet was inspected and it turned out that it was due to the faucet itself and not the work, we were charged with their standard visit fee of $50. Unfortunately as we are not plumbing experts, we would not be able to tell this. We just feel that if we were building a long-term relationship with them that this was definitely not a good second impression, especially since we paid a lot of money for the initial work. Based on this, we would find it hard-pressed to recommend them to someone else.

Hi ER,
thank you for your great review. The nice thing about a our flat rate price catalogue is that you know beforehand what will be the cost.In these uncertain times when we are hit with suprises all the time,it's comforting to know when you use Water Works Plumbing there are no suprises like extra charges for more needed work.If I didn't work here and knowing what I know about this company,I would hire them in "heartbeat"!
Thanks Again,
