We purchased a Lennox high efficient furnace from Koss at Gropan Heating, Burnaby: in summer 2009 and it came with labor and parts warranty for 15 years as well as 3 years of free furnace service. We went with him because of the longer warranty coverage (all other companies included 10 years only). He provided the furnace maintenance to us for at least 5 years and we purchased a few items/services from him during those years. He even used me as his reference to other potential customer one year after we purchased his furnace. However, we found he would try to upsell us to ask us to replace hot water tank when it was not needed and his quote changed everytime we asked for a quote to a service. We then went to other company for furnace service. On July 14th, we came across his Groupon promotion and decided to ask him to service the furnace. At the end of the maintenance, he indicated the Collector box was broken due to poor design of Lennox (acid goes through the collector box which is plastic) and condensating failed to draw water due to the broken collector box. He provided me a quote with labor cost and parts cost. I reminded him that this furnace was purchased from him 9 years ago and it‘s still under warranty for parts and labor. He said i needed to present my receipt to him as he doesn‘t remember and the parts might not be covered if I don‘t show past 5 years of furnace receipts. We were in the process of moving and shipped all our documents to a storage company so I asked him to check the record on file. He said he would look into it and get back to me. Two weeks has past and we emailed him and called him but he has not provided anything to us. Also, he never mentioned to us regarding the clause that furnace must be serviced every year to be under the warranty. We would recommend to go with a more reputable company rather than a one person run company that just ignored our requests and made up excuses not to cover us.

I contacted Absolute Insulation and obtained a quote for my attic insulation and carport carport ceiling insulation. I went with Absolute because they can provide service on Sat even though their quote was few hundred dollars more than other companies. I first texted Justin (the owner) on Feb 2 asking to schedule the job. He replied he would contact me next day but I didn't receive any call. I texted him again on Feb 4th and 5th. Finally i got a text back on Feb 5th and the date. I texted him back right away and advised I preferred weekend. I didn't get a reply. I texted him on Feb 9th and receive no reply. Finally I called the office but the lady said she would ask Justin to call me back. I then left Justin a message. Finally he texted me back on Feb 10 (5 days later). He told me he can schedule me for Feb 20. On Feb 20th, I got a call from Justin that they can only do attic insulation that day and will schedule carport insulation on Feb 27. His brother and someone came in for 1.5 hours and told me they would come back the following Sat. I told Justin that i really need to get this done ASAP. Prior to Feb 27, i texted him twice to ask for a time and he replied after my second text that he would call me next morning. Again i received no call. I texted him again to ask for a time and he replied he was trying to figure out. On Feb 26 at 8pm, he texted me and asked if we could reschedule to a weekday as they can't make it on Feb 27. I told him I can take some time off from work on Mar 4 but I need to know what time and how long. He confirmed for 9am and for 3 hours. However, on Mar 3 at 9:40pm i received a text from him that he is not able to make it as his cousin's wife went into labour early but he might be able to come on Mar 5 provided if his wife agreeing him working on Sat. I texted hin that I really really need to get the insulation done and he needs to make himself available on Mar 5. It's Mar 4, i texted him twice today but didn't get a reply. I have never seen such unprofessional contractor- Not responsive, not reliable, wasting customer's time and break promises. Will never use it again!!!

Unfortunately we have been unable to get your work completed and have had to re-book previously scheduled appts. I can assure you, when I am calling a customer at 9:40pm at night for an appointment the following day; I have tried everything to make this schedule work prior to that phone call.

We are a small family company with a very good reputation for providing excellent service. We do our best to ensure we will arrive at the client's home on the scheduled date to perform our work, and if this cannot be done, we always contact the clients to advise them and to re-schedule. This is not something we want to do, however, at times, it can not be helped and in fact we have never had this criticism in all our years of servicing our clients.

Having said that we do understand that our clients are relying on us to show up and get the work completed, as they have juggled their lives to be there for us to complete their work. We do apologize to you. We strive to please our clients and in this case we have failed to do that. Justin Dault, Absolute Insulation Inc.

In Mar 2015, I chose the Westside company based on the positive reviews in this website. I bought a one time visit and caught 4 little mice but found more mice droppings two months later. I then upgraded to a 6 months package. We were told the mice we caught were the inexperienced ones and what remain were the experienced parent mice! and know not to eat bait/poison.Jeremy came twice and is quite innovative in the ways to catch mice. So far I have not seen any activities yet so hopefully Westside will help us to win the battle...
