I was looking to have our master bathroom renovated within a time frame of approx. 1 month. Manager Ioana at DDRI took on my project and indicated it could possibly be done on time, so I was hopeful. Unfortunately, some time was lost before my project got going due to a "positive Covid test". ?? Lost a week or so there. Once the project finally got started, Luis and his team worked very hard, five days in a row, Monday to Friday, and then on the Saturday the cleaning group came in with Luis still finishing up a few items. The bathroom was, at that point, approx. 90% complete with the half glass door and grab bar to be installed on Monday. Monday came and apparently the glass door was delayed. At the same time more money was being requested, even though I had paid 80%. I had the feeling the carrot was being dangled and the job might stall so close to completion so I complied, hoping to finally have the bathroom ready to use. On Tuesday the glass was on the truck, however, it took 4 hours to unload, so we're on to Wednesday a.m. There was an "emergency" Wednesday morning, but the crew came by noon and by 3 p.m. the bathroom was finally completed. Ultimately I would say the finished product is good and should be durable, not sure about the plastic shower head & wand, but we'll see. The polished porcelain is strong and the custom niche that Luis built in the wall is amazing. The overall job lacks some finishing touches; noticeable gaps at door threshold, the grey around the white tub is questionable, just needs minor bits to pull it all together.

We had a great experience with Nordik starting with salesman Kevin Rowan who is knowledgeable and friendly, very easy to deal with. Nordik head office staff kept in touch by email and then with phone calls to schedule the installation. The windows were manufactured and ready for install approximately 2 weeks ahead of the lead time quoted (approx. 20 weeks). The team of two men installing our new windows had obviously worked together before as they were like a well-oiled machine, one on the outside and one inside. The fit and finish is excellent, nice trim and artistic caulking. Our new Nordik windows are crisp and clean, open easily, and close up nice and snug. The patio slider was done another day with a different team of two men. They worked carefully to remove the old slider and prepare the opening. The old one was two pieces sitting in a frame, the new one is a complete unit, probably why it's more energy efficient. They were measuring, checking the level, adding a shim or two, checking the level again, etc., very meticulous. Insulate, trim, caulking, great job! Our new patio door slides effortlessly, closes up snugly. We're glad to have new energy efficient windows manufactured and installed by a local company.

Air Force was recommended by my HVAC professional. It was easy to book an appointment which was for two days after my call. Adel and his team arrived on time, provided a clean service at the price quoted, and all of my questions were answered. Overall a very efficient process with minimal disturbance to the household. Pleased I finally got the ducts cleaned, and happy I chose Adel and the Air Force.

The time had come for a new furnace. I wanted to upgrade to a high efficiency model. Coretemp came highly rated on HomeStars so I left my contact info and very quickly heard back from the owner, Richard. He was full of information and very easy to deal with. I decided to get the Ruud U96V furnace and a whole house humidifier. The installation day came and Richard and his two assistants did an excellent job. Everything went quite smoothly and it was a clean job site. I was kept informed of the process with Richard asking my preference on a few small details, explaining what was being done and why. I really appreciated his knowledge, professionalism and expertise. After testing was completed, Richard gave me the run down on the new system, as well as a tour of the new venting pipe on the side of the house. All questions I had were answered thoroughly and completely. I highly recommend Coretemp. (please note Covid-19 procedures were in place and followed, including masks, distancing, gloves, and follow-up sanitizing of powder room by Richard).

Chris from Gates attended my address to inspect for wildlife invaders (which I believed to be raccoons, as I had seen and heard them repeatedly). He went up the ladder and immediately found an obvious opening (obvious to him!). He did a complete inspection of the roof, including my neighbour's side (we're in a semi). The opening at the front of the house was the only entry point. Chris offered his solution which I approved of. A one way door was installed on the entry point, baited, and the area deodorized. All roof vents were meshed. I had a lot of questions, Chris had a lot of answers including advice and information concerning my attic space going forward. He really put my mind at ease. All work was completed in a timely and profession manner. Approximately one week later Chris returned to examine the one way door and established no wildlife activity and replaced it with a nice, solid mesh attachment. Knock on wood, now I feel bulletproof. Very pleased with Gates' service and superior job by Chris.

I had no serious roofing issues, however, the roof was showing some wear and tear, missing shingles, etc. I hate shopping around for quotes and usually rely on a friend or neighbour when it comes to recommendations. Luckily, next door got their roof done and I saw the job. Colorful Roofing was the name on the truck. I got a quote. Compared to one other quote I had gotten the Colorful roofing quote was much lower. As I had a front row view of the neighbour's job, I chose Colorful to do my roof. The shingles were delivered on Tuesday, the job done on Wednesday. The work was done quickly and the job site kept clean. Colorful Roofing left me wanting nothing more. The original shingles had done well for about 15 years and I expect a similar lifespan from these new shingles. Overall; a clean job, a fast job, on time, no hiccups.

We had a small, mysterious leak in the kitchen area, coming from upstairs. Plumbing technician Domenic Previte from Mr. Rooter came to our home, on time and with a smile. I had requested Domenic attend as I had dealt with him previously. He is patient and reassuring, and using his experience and intelligence he located the source of the leak and restored the waterproofing. He clearly explained what was happening, what needed to be done and then he took care of it. I have used Mr. Rooter previously and they have always taken care of my plumbing needs with professionalism and friendliness. Highly recommended.
