We hired reVISION to do our home renovation. In the contract they have stated it would take approximately 4 months, we are now into our 8th month and the renovation is still not complete. There is a major lack of trade management which cause schedule delays, switched project manager half way through project, book keeping and accounting is messy and unclear, and budget is not accurately costed which led to MAJOR budget overruns. Do not recommend unless you want to waste both your time and money.

Approximate cost of services:
$200,000.00

Company Response

It is unfortunate this young couple feels this way. IN EXCESS OF $30,000 IN SAVINGS was provided to the clients through reVISION’s expertise and supplier/subtrade relationships. Due to the clients wanting to save money they elected to stay in the home to avoid living out expenses hence splitting the project into two phases rather than one which significantly extended the timeline. Due to numerous late payments the project had to be stopped until payments were caught up to date. The clients credit card also declined on over 60% of the required payments. reVISION was very accommodating during the clients numerous payment challenges by keeping the project moving forward until the payments were caught up to date.

In order to minimize any unforeseen items during construction we did exploratory work before construction started which was limited to the fact that the clients were living in the home during this phase and a good portion of the drywall also contained asbestos which limited the areas we could discover unforeseen items before starting construction and provide the clients with an even more accurate budget. During the initial exploratory work we did discover some unforeseen items which the clients were informed about.

The clients elected to hire some of their own sub trades / suppliers which further delayed the project and caused damage to the finished materials that had been completed already.

With reVISION’s in-depth "On-Boarding" process by educating our clients on the renovation process well before the project starts; the clients were made aware of potential unforeseen items and their potential impact to the costs and schedule. During the
On-Boarding process the clients were shown (by an example) of how our bookkeeping process functioned and they understood it at that time. Our bookeeping process is very clear so that our clients are provided with an updated budget each week along with transparent supporting documentation to review and discuss.
