We had Advanced Plumbing in to replace a laundry tub faucet that suddenly started leaking (which of course it had started to do just as we were approaching yet another COVID lockdown). George and Greg took the time to discuss the issue, give me their expert advice, and then walk me through our options. They were both very helpful and reassuring, and happy to answer all my questions. No pressure either, just good solid ideas and advice. Then when we agreed to have the work done, they were able to sent an experienced plumber (Ian Johnson) later that same day to do it, which was a big relief. Ian definitely deserves a very positive mention, too. He was courteous, professional, and capable. He showed up right on time and quickly completed the job. It’s now been a number of weeks since the work was done, and we’ve had absolutely no problems. Advanced Plumbing was excellent about every aspect of the job, start to finish, plus they resolved our issue in just one day. I’d highly recommend them if you require help with your plumbing!

Called What A View to clean our gutters, and was very pleased with their service. I would highly recommend them! As some background, here's more detail... I was worried because many more leaves had come down since our last cleaning a few months before. However, our previous gutter cleaning company told me it would be a number of days before they could come to do the second cleaning. I was worried. There was a big storm coming, and I wanted to make certain that those gutters were clear. I called What A View and they were there later that day!! I was so relieved. In addition, I've now used them more than once, and there's quality and consistency in their service. THANK YOU to everyone at What A View!!

March 2019 followup in the saga of home maintenance... Another Positive review for Roofrepairs.ca! I would highly recommend them to anyone with a roof issue or concern. They are professional, reliable, and fast to respond to your call. To summarize, there were high winds, and I was horrified to find a shingle on the ground in the backyard Saturday evening. No water or leakage, but I was still worried. I called Roofrepairs.ca ASAP, but how many places are going to get back to you on a Saturday night? However, Greg at Roofrepairs.ca called me back within the hour! That fast, professional response is just what every homeowner is looking for. In addition, I was able to set up an appointment with the excellent roofer who had worked on the house before (Rob, mentioned in the previous review below from a couple of years ago). When Rob arrived at the house, he was courteous, professional, and (as always) honest about what needed to be done. Yes, there were a couple of shingles that needed to be replaced, but otherwise he said everything was fine. He replaced the missing shingles for the price of the service call, and everything was finished in less than an hour! Another big THANK YOU to Greg, Rob, and Roofrepairs.ca for a job well done! PREVIOUS REVIEW (from a couple of years ago) ... A big THANKS to Roofrepairs.ca! I was worried when I saw what looked like a couple of very small dried water spots on the floor right below an area on the roof that had been previously repaired a couple of years ago (that time the flashing had been torn away by a raccoon or some other wildlife, allowing a small amount of water to enter the area.) I wasn't certain if this new water spot was early evidence of a future, potentially serious leak (or just a spill from someone who didn't clean it up and didn't want to confess ;>). However, given the history of that section of the roof, I was fairly worried. (The roof isn't all that old, but as we all know even a new roof can have issues.) So, expecting the worst (and concerned about that day's predicted ice storm and rain) I immediately called Roofrepairs.ca. What happened next was amazing! After speaking with Kim, the office manager, about the situation, she managed to arrange to have Rob come by that very same day before the ice storm was supposed to start! When Rob arrived, he was very quick and professional. He went up, took a look at the situation, and came back down to tell me that he could find no evidence of any obvious issues. (He did comment on the mediocre quality of some of the previous shingling work that had been done by another company, though). He also told me that there would be no charge for his visit because there was no work for him to do! Instead, he told me to just keep an eye on the issue, and that if there was a problem during the upcoming storm he could come back out if necessary and get a better idea of what might be causing the issue. I REALLY appreciated that! The final results? The very messy ice storm and rain came through…and there was NO leakage from the roof. NONE. Rob was right. There was no issue, just a very worried homeowner (me) who suddenly felt much better! A lot of places might have just told me that we needed work done since they were already out there, but Rob was honest and professional. Thanks again to Kim, Rob, and Brad for everything! It really puts my mind at ease to know that we can call Roofrepairs.ca if we ever have any issues with our roof. In addition, given their excellent service and honesty, I have already had Rob and Brad (roofrepairs.ca’s owner) back to quote on some eave trough, etc. Once again, they were prompt, professional, and straightforward about the roof's condition and needs. I look forward to seeing the quote, but I must say that I would already recommend them to friends and family (and am planning to do just that in the very near future).

Danny is very professional, capable, and experienced! He replaced an old toilet (think "before you were born" in terms of age, lol) in a 1950s home. He did an excellent job, especially given that he had to install a modern toilet into a not-so-modern plumbing system. Danny also cleaned up the work area, was careful with our home, and gave us excellent advice about also replacing an older valve and connectors, as well as on which type of toilet to purchase. He also carefully checked the drains to make certain that they were OK, too...and with no extra charges. Excellent! In addition, this work was done last year, and everything is still great. Ok, so in summary, would we hire Danny again? Yes, absolutely! He did a great job, and we are very happy with the results. Thanks Danny!

John did an excellent job of replacing our front door lock, repairing the garage door lock, and cutting us some new keys. The front door lock replacement wasn't an easy job, either. The door is original to our 1950s bungalow, and the lock was very deeply inset (7" - yes, seriously!) Good thing we had John come and take care of this for us, as he is a highly experienced locksmith who obviously cares about doing a quality job AND providing excellent customer service. But here's the most important question...Would I use him again? Yes!

Thanks Rebecca for your review. In the 18 years that A Perfect Pick Locksmiths has been providing locksmith service, yours is the very first time that we have ever seen a backset that was 7 inches. The norm for back in the day was a 5 inch backset. With the parts combined that you had and I supplied I was able to piece together a working entrance handle set for you. Just goes to prove that even if your lockset falls apart you should always hang on to the old parts because they could come in very handy during a replacement or repair, especially with something odd like your situation. Appreciate your business and this excellent review. Looking forward to serving your security needs in the future.

After 10+ years, our Metalex security doors and metal interior security grillwork still looks great! So many times you read reviews about something, and wonder how well it will do in the long run, especially when it is a longer-term security product (OK, at least I do). Well, this review is for you. Metalex did an excellent job installing our doors, etc. Even better, the products still look wonderful! We would highly recommend Metalex to anyone who is looking to install security products that look good, add to the curb appeal of their home, and are also durable. The installers (Stewart and Joe, I believe) were careful, courteous, and thorough, and did a really good job. On top of that, we had excellent support during the quotation phase, as well as very good after-sales support from Tom. Our thanks to Metalex - we still enjoy your products every day, and I feel much safer in our home as a result of having them installed.

The beautiful photos we are uploading really tell the story! Rodrigo laid approx. 500 sq. ft. of long, wood-look plank-style tiles, and even accomplished this on a floor that was originally pretty uneven (he had it leveled first, an excellent idea). And YES, these are indeed tiles...they just look like wood, but are actually porcelain. This kind of tile is also more difficult to install, given their length and size, but Rodrigo did an amazing job. Rodrigo is very professional, friendly, helpful, well spoken, and (very important to us) trustworthy. We felt very comfortable leaving Rodrigo alone to work on our home (and this isn’t something we usually do). In addition, this tiling job was done a few months ago, but the photos were taken yesterday – and the floors still look great! We did have a bit of a problem with the grout color (when it dried it was a very light color – however, this was a problem with the grout brand, NOT Rodrigo). However, Rodrigo came back more than once, discussed this issue, and then tried various things to darken it (we ultimately chose to use colored grout sealer to get the desired look which you can see in the photos, but really appreciated the professional way in which he followed up on this issue). In summary, Rodrigo is very responsible and responsive, and definitely a highly skilled professional tiler. He gives great advice, and is a good problem-solver. No, Rodrigo is not the cheapest tiler, but he is still reasonable…and it’s definitely worth it to go with someone who you know will do a great job! People comment all the time on how beautiful the new tiled floors are, but best of all, we love them. We also tell everyone who did them: Rodrigo at Kasa Bella. We would happily recommend him to anyone who wants to install tile!
