We were gearing up to sell our rental unit when we realized that our tenant's cat had been spraying for several months in the unit's unfinished basement. Even after scrubbing the entire house top to bottom and airing it out for mutliple days, the smell was horrific. Our real estate team connected us with Jason from Span Co. and he and his team (shoutout to Orlando!!) were absolutely fantastic. Jason had a plan of action within hours of viewing the house. He also did a ton of research on how to remove the eye-burning smell to make sure it was gone for good. In one weekend, he and his team patched problematic areas in the floor, cleaned, deoderized, sealed, and painted the concrete floor and walls. They didn't push any extra services on us or do anything more than what was necessary to fix the problem to keep the costs as low as possible. When they were done, the basement looked fantastic and it smelled... amazing! Thanks to Jason and the Span Co team, we were able to list our house on the day we had originally planned. In the future, I will recommend Span Co to anyone who asks (and propably a few people who didn't).

I hired Tom to re-key the locks on our rental unit. He came the next day and was on time and courteous. He checked out the quality of the existing locks and made a recommendation to upgrade them for safety. I didn't feel any pressure to change the deadbolts, but Tom took the time to show me why the locks should be upgraded and I agreed it was the right decison for the unit. He worked quickly and efficiently and I was more than satisfied with the finsihed product. I will definitely be calling Tom again the next time we need the locks changed.

The front facing was falling off of our concrete front steps. I called Red Robin Masonry for a quote and a representitive had provided a written quote within 3 business days. The repair was completed in 2 days (there was more damange than suspected to the concrete) and the end result is beautiful. As always, I will be calling Red Robin Masonry with my next project.

We own a rental home and our tenants reported a flood in their basement at 8:30pm. I called Hoerner Heating & Plumbing and a representitive called me back almost immediately to let me know she was available to come in 15-30 minutes. This was a huge relief as we were having trouble finding someone to come after hours. The plumber who came was knowledgeable and kind (I was in a bit of a panic). She cleared the drain blockage and alerted me to an issue with the city portion of our sewage pipe. The city has confirmed that the pipe is likely cracked and the city will need to replace it. This would have caused us a lot of trouble in the future, so we are very greateful that the technitian took the time to double check the pipe was ok once the blockage was clear and advised us to have the city check their equipment. We will definately be calling Hoerner Heating & Plumbing the next time we have any plumbing issues (though, hopefully, that won't be for a while).

We purchased an older home that had sustained some water damage in the unfinished basement. We hired Red Robin Masonry to parge the crumbling interior walls in our basement. The representative who came to provide our quote was very knowledgeable about both the parging process and the services provided by his company. He presented me with several levels of service in a way I could understand (even though I knew nothing about the process myself). I was able to pick the look of the final product to the level I needed and nothing more which saved costs. The project was supposed to take 2 days, but the crew came for 4 days in a row without discussing the change with me or with my GC which was a little odd, but they remained within their quoted prices so it didn't matter. The project was done in the winter and the frequent changes in temperature caused some cracks in the final layer. I emailed my Red Robin representitive and he sent someone over within 3 business days to correct the problem at no extra cost to me. The final product is beautiful and I am satisfied with the level of customer service I received.

Hi Amy, thanks a lot for providing the review. I'm really happy you're pleased with the service and the final product. That's always what we strive for. I apologize that the length of time wasn't communicated with you. It appears that there was some mis-communication on our end as to what was the perceived timeline. the feedback is great so we can always tweek things on our end so the same error doesn't occur again. All the best. Dave

We bought a house without a survey and decided to have one done as there was a question as to whether the property had a private drive. I contacted GEOPLAN Syrveying Ltd. and was in contact with Tania almost immedidately. As I have absolutely no experience with surveys, she helped me decide on the kind of survey I would need and had it finished within the timeline she quoted. Once completed I was unable to go to her office to pick up the survey, so she had delivered it to me as she had found a clerical error in the deed to the property (passed onto us from the 90's). She explained in detail why the error was worth correcting and exactly what it said (as it had to do with an adjacent lot). She also explained in great detail everything the survey had found so I was well prepared for any changes I needed to make. I would fully recommend GEOPLAN Surveying Ltd. If I ever need another one done, they are who I will be calling for sure!

We purchased a home to rent and needed to remove an entry hallway wall and attached archway. The permit required full drawings of the home. Roberto finished the measurements in one business day and the drawings were completed and submitted to the permit office in 10 business days. He was very thorough and responded quickly to questions and concerns I had. The permit office required an engineer stamp as there was a possible load baring wall. We were warned of this possbility in advance and contacted Roberto who then contacted his structural engineer and the issue was resolved quickly and competently at a reasonable cost. We also ended up installing a bathroom during the renovation and needed the drawings updated to reflect the changes. Our contractor sent Roberto the measurements and he updated our drawings and resubmitted them to the permit office within the week. It was a good experience all around as it was my first time working with an architect and with the permit office and I had many questions and concerns and I felt supported through the entire process.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences with Valente CAD Studio. We are delighted to read that you felt supported through the entire building permit process with our help. When a house is built with old lumber sizes which are not used nowadays, the City examiner requires that an engineer checks that the span of floor joists is appropriate to transfer safely the loads to the foundation walls, so in this project this step was required. We hope you will enjoy it for many years after renovation is done, and will think of us when you have another residential project in mind.

We recently purchased the other half of our semi detatched home and upon inspection realized that the roof was leaking water into one of the bedrooms at an alarming rate. We called Cherry and Clark and Gary came over within the week to inspect the property and offer us a comprehensive quote. He offered to match our existing shingles for us and recommended additional insulation for the flat portion of our roof to save heating costs as well. There was a slight delay in service as our roof was to be completed in two parts and the first team was delayed. I called after 3 weeks and inquired about our position on the waiting list. I spoke to the company VP Reg and explained that every time it rained water was collecting in buckets. He was really helpful and workers were scheduled for the next day. The crew showed up on time and were very nice. It was too windy for them to do work that day, so they had to come back; however, they did mention to Reg that the shingles we had ordered were not an exact match. Reg called me personally to let me know they had the exact shingles from the other side of the roof in stock and was kind enough to switch them for me at no cost. The project was completed in two days. The clean up was thorough and the final product is beautiful. I will call this company any time I have a roofing issue or question, (but it will likely have to wait until I move because this roof isn't going anywhere!).

We recently purchased a new home and realized after closing that none of the locks were functional. I called FC Locksmith Ltd. and a technician called me to schedule an appointment within 10 minutes. 2 hours later he arrived within the agreed upon window and looked thoroughly at all the locks with me. He agreed that the lock mechanisms needed to be replaced in full and made recommendations as to which locks he would install for our type of residence. He was done the installation in under 10 minutes. Quality work! I am very satisfied.

When we moved into our new house, we noticed immediately that none of the exterior doors were installed correctly and they let in street noise and let out the air conditioning and soon after a great deal of heat. We decided in December to replace all our exterior doors (3) and also to replace the doors leading into our sun room with proper garden doors. We met with our sales representative quickly. He was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out doors that would be functional and beautiful. We signed on immediately and were told that because the installation of our doors was incorrect, he recommended we wait for a specific installer who was skilled with "tricky" installations. We agreed to order the doors ASAP and then to wait for the recommended installer. In February, we were contacted to schedule our installation and were informed that one of the doors had come with the wrong glass (it had a star etched into the centre of the door). My husband was told that he could either purchase this door at full price, or they would send it back and have the glass replaced. He offered to buy the door at a discounted price and was told that was not possible. We asked them to send it back since it was very expensive and not what we had ordered. When the installers arrived to install the doors, they had brought the "Star" door with them. My husband had to tell the installers himself that they were not supposed to install that door as it was incorrect and that they were going to have to return at a later date to install the correct one. A few weeks later, we had rescheduled the installers to come and install the final door. The night before they were to come, we received a call saying that the glass had broken on the door and it would have to be re-ordered again. We were offered a $100.00 discount for our trouble. A few weeks later, the installers had been rescheduled and were to arrive within a three hour window. Half an hour after the window had expired, I called the office to see if there was a delay and if they knew when the installers would arrive. The office contacted the installer and informed me that they were still at another job and anticipated that they would not finish in time to come to our home. I rescheduled them for this week. They came on time and installed the door in no time. When it came time to pay, the installers had no physical invoice and had not been informed that we had received a $100.00 discount for the inconvenience of our repeated delays. The installer had to call the office and sit in our kitchen for 10 minutes while he tried to get ahold of the correct person. Eventually he confirmed that we had received a discount, we wrote the cheque and he left. In conclusion, the sales representative was highly competent. He helped us pick out beautiful and appropriate products for our home and answered all our questions thoroughly and honestly. He did not push things on us that we didn't want and was very nice to work with. The products themselves are spectacular. They are durable and beautiful. The installation was impeccable and was completed very quickly. While we did run into some bad luck, the customer service was horrendous. We were continuously patient as everything that could go wrong did go wrong and received basically nothing in return that would retain us as customers. Though I love my doors I cannot recommend this company.

My husband and I bought a new house and were preparing to sell our previous home after some minor updates. We enlisted the help of Wow 1 Day painters to get rid of the hideous brown paint the previous owners had left and which, after 6 years, had deteriorated into a chipped and hole ridden mess. A representative came within 2 days of my initial on site quote request and very carefully went over every inch of my home with me. He pointed out areas that would require more work and also areas that he didn't think needed painting (interior closets in good condition). He even checked that the date I wanted was available right then and there as I was trying to coordinate movers, painting and new carpets, and went over a very comprehensive personalized quote with me. When Peter and his team arrived, they were professional and very friendly. They completed my 2 story house in 2 days (as one room was navy blue and needed an additional 3rd coat). It looks AMAZING!!! I was sceptical when i read the online reviews, but now I understand what everyone is saying. When i stepped inside, my house looked phenomenal. The doors, trim, walls, ceiling were spectacular. It looked like a brand new house!! I dare you to not say WOW when your job is complete!! I did. I will be hiring Peter and his team again for our new home in no time!
