Jay came and quoted to replace our half of the roof of our semi detached home. Out neighbour decided do his half as well. We left to go camping with the plan for it to be done while we were gone. That did not happen. Due to many people choosing to not work and be on CERB the crew was smaller than expected, but also one of the crew got stung by a bee and had a HUGE allergic reaction which resulted in a half day lost for hospital visit. Now this could have the potential to be bad news, but Jay handled the situation in such a great way! Even though he basically has to do our job himself his attention to detail was awesome, every little thing had to be perfect before he moved on. It can be stressful to have workers at your house for a week but the job site was clean all day, no nails, no stray shingles and to top it off everyone who was here was willing to listen to my daughter tell them everything about her day. The job itself is great, and to give you an example to the kind of business owner Jay is. One of my neighbours was very helpful with the bee sting incident, so Jay did some repairs on their roof for free to show his appreciation. When the other half of my roof needs to be done I will be calling Jay and cannot recommend him enough.

John came to our house today to get a token key out of our lock. First off he was the first person who would even show up for the job. Other companies just wanted to sell us new stuff right away. John treated my wife very well and explained everything completely so it was understoid before moving on. The price was fair for what was done and our day was not disturbed for an extended time.

Our original contractor informed us about 2 weeks before our basement was about to start that he would not be available so we were in a bind. Someone we trusted recommended Mike and Aldo. We were not disappointed. From the very first meeting we were impressed. I naturally ask a lot of questions and never once did I feel like I was bothering anyone. All of my questions (stupid or otherwise) were answered in a way that never made me feel like a big dumb dumb. We hired Mike to come in immediately after the the underpinning was complete. We required all the framing, a new bathroom, all electrical, all above grade plumbing, including sump pump and sewage ejector, a new set of stairs, a laundry room, flooring, painting and windows. Everyone who came to the house was amazing , and did their best to give us what we asked for, even when I changed my mind 5 minutes before they started. When things did not go as planned I was never kept in the dark. Mike and I had constant communication through out the whole job. Most importantly I think, was how any mistakes were handled. In a job the size of ours their is bound to be a few things go not as planned. One time was a broken tile, another was a miscommunication on what trim was to be put around a window, the last was again a miscommunication about the size of one window. I was treated more than fairly on all three incidents and none of them were an issue after they were repaired. Lastly, we are currently having an issue with one of the doors installed (6 months later) and Mike did not hesitate sending someone to check it out. This is proof that the service before, during, and after was all excellent. We enjoy our new basement everyday, and would have no issues recommending Sonoma to anyone.

My wife and I had been hearing something in the attic for a few weeks. I called a few companies and they quoted site unseen double what the starting rate at Swat was, so I obviously called SWAT. Derick and Kevin arrived when I was told they would, after a quick inspection they confirmed that it was squirrells and also put my mind at rest that there were no babies up there. They added a one way door for exactly the price quoted both were polite and there was no mess when they were done. I hope I do not have to use their services again but if the need was there I would not call anyone else.

Dealing with Dan and True North has been great. First off they finished the job 2 weeks earlier than expected and the cost was exactly to the penny what was quoted. The work that was performed was amazing, and considering how much dirt was removed from my house, the property was kept very clean. Dan never had a problem answering my questions (our email chain had over 115 emails by end of job), and the foreman Leo never treated my like a dummy for my endless questions. Nothing was done that was questionable without Dan first making sure with an engineer that it was ok. So the work was great, done within budget and schedule. I think what really made dealing with True North such a great experience was the extra effort that was put in. The guys would bring my garbage and recycle bins in if they saw the city had emptied them. The entire crew made a point of being friendly with my kids (and learning their names). They worked around the other people I had in the house working extremely well. To top it all off when an unrelated problem in my house caused me to lose the use of my bathroom Dan arranged to have his port potty left on site even after he was done so my family had a place to go to the washroom. He did not ask for any money for this at all. I cannot recommend Dan and True North strongly enough, I almost wish I had another house I needed to underpin.
