We actually had this fireplace done in Feb 2014 and while reviewing another contractor, I realized I've never written a review on Red Robin and I've used them twice! Dave and Mike are awesome and after using them for a basement floor slab at our old house, we thought to contact them to redo our fireplace. We converted an old wood-buring, granite stone fireplace to gas and wanted to redo the stone in something more contemporary. I knew I did not want veneer and they were so helpful pointing me in the right direction for real stone. We went with Masonal Stone (dover white) and decided to reuse the existing limestone hearth slab. We handled the demo of the old fireplace ourselves. The mason ( I forget his name) that Red Robin sent was absolutely lovely and you could tell from watching him work that there is a high level of skill involved with real stone...it all has to be cut, chiselled and layed by hand. And I wanted a specific pattern/style to the stone. Because of the time it takes to work the stone and lay it, things were done on different days and there were differing tones of mortar. Mike was very reassuring that there was a solution and was here quickly to even out the colouring. As you can see from the photo, the end result is stunning and timeless. We have been so happy with Red Robin and crew every time we've used them and wouldn't hesitate again in the future. They are now my go-to for any masonry type work.

So sorry for the late response. That was really an enjoyable project with beautiful results. It was great working with you on it. Thanks. Dave

We called around and had a few quotes from concrete companies to do an extensive project which included front stoop, front patio, walkway, stairs and back two-tiered patio, along with retaining walls for gardens and a shed pad. This was a very large job and involved various elevations and grades to the property. I am so happy I went with my gut and chose Raffy and Elite Designed Concrete. Other companies gave a similar price, but it was readily apparent they did not have the professionalism and crew of experts that Elite does. Where these other companies said they would come and "spray paint lines" to show where they would put the concrete, Elite had a landscape architect, Marina, measure and properly plot out architectural drawings for the design and plan. They have a project manager, Marcelo, who oversees the details. I am a very picky person as I have design and art background - when I saw the drawing, I was floored. It was gorgeous and I shockingly did not want to change one single aspect. Everything I mentioned verbally was included; the coach light, the gas line, the removal of a large pine stump, etc. Not one detail was missed or done in error. ETAs were adhered to and I was updated along the way. When the crew showed up to start work, they were also all very polite, accomodating and respectful of my family and the property. With any large project, there are inevitably hiccups along the way. There were a couple minor things that happened and they were immediately remedied and Raffy and Marcello were always very responsive via text or phone. Because the project was contracted in the fall, the weather was quite damp and then winter came. Because of the dampness, some of the sealer didn't take. Once Spring arrived, I didn't even have to call Elite to come look or ask them to fix it. One day, a work van showed up and they were here taking inventory of any warranty issues. They had it power washed and re-sealed within the week, ready for the Spring planting season so we could simply get started on our gardening! I could not be more pleased with the service, design and workmanship from Elite (Raffy, Marcelo, Marina and entire crew!). Our concrete work is so gorgeous and functional, it makes my yard a beautiful summer oasis to simply relax and enjoy. It is how I've always hoped and envisioned my yard and outdoor space to be and it has increased the value of my home immensely. I cannot say enough about Elite... don't hesitate to invest in a project with them. You won't regret it!

The Abbeywood crew was fabulous to deal with from the telephone sales staff to the 3 man crew that physically completed the move (Sean, Hugh and ?? - sorry I forget). In any case, the 3 guys were clean, respectful, on time and made this a very stress-free process. A downtown, 3 bedroom house was moved to North York in around 6 hours - please note, they add their travel time so it was about 8 hours of charged time - it totalled about $1000 and was accurate to their estimate. There was no extra fees, charges etc., other than the up front mentioned fuel surcharge and mattress bags. The move was just completed today and I have yet to see anything damaged other than a ceiling scuff, which is inevitable. I have a lot of teak furniture & glass/ceramic decor and not one item was scratched or broken. Just chill, be nice and respectful to the guys - moving doesn't look like easy work. Yes, I tip and have cold drinks available for them - they are entitled to breaks. Let Abeywood do their job and you'll be pleased you chose this company. I am!

I am quite adept at finishing drywall myself and am also very particular about the quality of workmanship. We have popcorn/stucco ceilings in all three bedrooms that we wanted smooth and a hallway of fresh drywall that needed finishing. Due to an injury, I was unable to continue this work myself. Rob was very professional and courteous. One has to allow some grace with contractors' schedules, but Rob quote, started and completed the project within a very reasonable amount of time. He was very easily reached and responsive both by telephone and email. He was very trustworthy being left with a key and alone in our home. As I mentioned, I am very picky and my ceilings look so beautiful, you would never guess they used to have a rough finish. Everything is now primed/painted and looks super sharp! (Oh, and if you make him a sandwich, make sure to cut the crusts off! :)
