10/10

Bart is a solid 10/10 contractor. Period.  We had received many quotes from many different companies and neighbour's referrals but not one of them was able to give us the confidence that they will finish the job to our satisfaction or to the quality we wanted.  We do our research prior to the job and have a really good idea what's the right way to do things and what cutting corners look like. But not with Bart. He stayed true to his word and delivered exactly what was agreed upon initially.  One thing which we really appreciated with Bart was his timely communication and transparency throughout the project. We knew exactly how much we were paying upfront, so we could make our choices accordingly.  We have done ALOT of home renos this year with us being home during Covid and so have dealt with ALOT of contractors. There is no job that runs perfectly. Issues / surprises are almost guaranteed. What separates good contractors from bad ones is how do they deal when an issue comes. Is their intent to save their money or do what's best for the customer. With Bart, I can confidently say, he did what was best for us first and then discussed how to best address the money part.  We would highly recommend hiring him. I would say, given the quality of his work and how he approaches each job, he is going to be very busy over the next few years.  Thanks, -Anshul & Neha.

I have a pretty standard check list to go through whenever I am dealing with any trades person or company. Communication, pricing, ability to clearly explain us the job, showing up on time, answering questions transparently during the job, walkthrough after the job, clean up. They rated 10/10 on everything else except clean up. Veronica is amazing to deal with in her communication, right off the bat. Pricing was excellent compared to others. Crew showed up bang on time. Answered all our questions during the job and did a thorough walk through after. They also give you a written 10 yr warranty on both product and labour, which goes lengths to back up their service. They go the extra mile by painting the lintels and cleaning the windows (I think this was part of a promotion). The clean up after is where they fell short for me. They picked up the big bits of old caulking but small bits drop everywhere during the job (grass, underneath the deck, shingles etc) which is almost impossible for them to pick up after. And impossible for me to get to shingles and grass. Had I known this prior I would have insisted on using some sort of drop sheets or would have bought a tarp myself. I am not sure if this is an industry wide practice or not. But if they were to improve upon this small aspect, it would be a 10/10 for me.

I want to say super thanks to Black Forest Plumbing for doing the rough in for a 3pc bathroom in our unfinished basement. Job well done !!! In the process of finishing our basement, this was a major hurdle for us since there was no rough in provided in the basement by the builder. It wasn't a straight forward job as we are converting a cellar into a washroom. Most people we spoke to didn't want to take up the job or were not able to give us the confidence that they have the proper know-how to complete the job. Half of them told us, it can't be done.  Black Forest has an extremely professional team. Right from Joe who came in to provide us an estimate to Erik and Liam who completed the work. What we appreciated the most was their willingness to answer our million questions! The aspect that we were most worried about was cutting of the concrete floor. We were hoping to cut the minimum amount needed with minimum damage to the surrounding area. And they delivered 100%. Very clean cuts and no damage to unintended areas. They were very communicative throughout the process and also provided suggestions to plan the bathroom better. Finally, and very importantly, they cleaned up really well. All in all, very happy with the work and highly recommend them.   As homeowners we have a checklist while selecting any trades person. We look for punctuality, clarity in describing the steps they will take to finish the job, fair pricing, timely follow ups, regular check-ins during the job and finally cleanliness. It's hard to find people who would check all the boxes. They get 10/10 as they literally checked all the boxes.  We will definitely use them in the future and also recommend them within our social circle.

I can say this with complete ease that Quality Potlights have by far been the best home reno related contractors that we have ever dealt with! So professional in every sense of the word. Right from the time Moe came in for a quotation to the task completion, every interaction was transparent, respectful and very logical. The crew arrived precisely on time and the job was completed well within a day. The installation was impeccable. Our guests have commented on how well spaced out our potlights are. In addition, his prices are very fair. There are lots of contractors out there who might offer lower prices but beware - they will not give you quality products with 5 year warranty. We got the breaker and the certification too. Also, they left the house so clean! They had taken all the precautions to make minimum amount of mess and at the end, vacuumed out all the debris. Thank you so much Moe for such a great experience.
