I have used this company twice. First when I originally needed my new appliances installed in 2008 and recently when my dishwasher needed servicing. They were just great. The original install was done quickly, properly and installers were great. It included a tricky water pipe and tube installation for my fridge water dispenser. They had to be creative and did a super job with no mess. I asked them to come back to check microwave install and they did. No problem it was just a weird hinge and they didn't charge me. Then a couple of months ago my dishwasher needed servicing and they sent someone quickly. He went above and beyond and cleaned out some gross stuff. He also showed me how to self install the part that needed replacing so when it came in from order I could do it myself and save some money. They are also super friendly on the phone and in person at the store. Great job and would highly recommend.

I hired Gary to come and put up two ceiling fans for me and to build a small built in bookshelf with two shelves. He made fast work of the two fans and they looked beautiful in my daughters' rooms. Even today, a year later and 9 months after last job he still remembers their names. He also did a quick phone consult on an emergency question I had on a sunday morning. Anyway, the shelf was also done just fine. It may have been a simple job but it was done properly, and his rates were very reasonable. His kind easy going demeanour is another big plus.

I hired Gary from Helping Hand to put up two chair rails. Painting done well, did the chair rails on two separate days in my dining room and baby's nursery. I was very pleased overall. The dining room chair rail was a little messy in two spots in terms of caulking etc. but I learned from Gary later that he was in the hospital just after that job because had been suffering from an appendicitis and hadn't known (he actually had not looked well the second day. He was very ill and still managed to do a good job. He was extremely pleasant to deal with.

I hired Rick to do exterior painting work. He came highly recommended, I had seen him working on our street on several other houses and he was able to point out homes he had done. He gave us a competitive price and told us 2 -3 days would be required. He colour matched the colour to the two benjamin moore colours I wanted, was very pleasant and started and finished on time. He had 2 other painters working with him. All were pleasant. At the end house looked great and he said he had sealed one large window that had leaked and wood had rotted. Said he dug out wood and filled with auto filler (sp?). All seemed well. This was in July of 2008. Over the winter my dad noticed a bit of bubbling on a front window. I was busy with a new baby and not too concerned. Then this year, I noticed drywall on window in baby's room soft in spots. Had a different company come in (see other review) because Rick doesn't do windows and they told us what had been done was in fact not a good job. Showed me that old paint had not been removed nor had old caulking. Problem was it was 18 months later and I was concerned as well that it would not be fixed properly. So I hired the new company Piece of Mind Improvements and they fixed it all up. My front window has also leaked (the one he "fixed", sealed, filled and killed mold in frame) so I will likely have Jon from PofM come back. Rick is great for interior work, really great but I would not recommend him for exterior painting.

I was very impressed from the first contact. I was concerned about a leaking window and potentially mould in my baby's room. Although he was booked for weeks, Jon made arrangements to come and do and estimate and I was impressed with it. It was concise and detailed. Then when I said I wanted to proceed he made arrangements to come over and get it done quickly, rearranging a couple of jobs because of my mould concern. He and his team member showed up on time, were very pleasant and did a super job. No mould thank goodness. Windows are now safe and leak free and he undid sloppy work of my exterior painter. I contacted two references and both raved about him. I now have my best friend hoping to have him do work for her. I was extremely satisfied and am having him do some more work in the next 6 months.
