I've waited the entire 6 months of my warranty to write this review. I wanted to write it immediately, however Pesticon was so disappointing I was worried that if I was honest while still under warranty they wouldn't honour their commitment to us. We used Pesticon when we found out we had bed bugs. If you have bed bugs, my heart goes out to you. It is the worst home owner problem I've ever encountered. All said and done we paid approx $1000 in services, laundry, and the non-$ of the mental anguish. Hang in there. In a month it will be better. Pesticon came the same day my husband called them. Although the service provider was kind, helpful and did a good job, he didn't steam the three mattresses we were told were included in the quote. To prepare for the spray you need to bag everything and unload all drawers and closets. Lift your mattress off the frames. It is a lot of work, and then you have to only put things back together temporarily because it was explained to us that spraying would again take place in two weeks (to target eggs that may have hatched, under your baseboards). Two weeks later a different service rep came to our house. Again, we made arrangements to be out of the house for 5 hours post-spray (we have two very little kids who still nap... being out for 5 hours is a challenging logistics thing for us), moved the mattresses, had the stuff bagged. However, no spray was done. A single room had some diatomaceous near one wall. When I called to inquire why the spray hadn't been done, none of the mattresses had been steamed (again), etc. the phone rep said she'd get back to me; she did, and I was told that the 2nd service rep did what he assessed needed to be done - which in his opinion didn't include spraying. How is this possible to know when the bed bugs live under the base boards and they don't come out in the day? They then said we needed to pay more money if we wanted the service we were first promised. Just to do the math: for $795 we were promised: 3 mattress steamed, 3 bedrooms sprayed, and our main level sprayed. After the first visit everything except mattresses had been steamed. After the second visit only a single room had been dusted with the powder. After the second visit less than 50% of what we paid for had been provided! The phone rep wasn't apologetic, nor did she seem to understand that us having to live out of plastic bags and leave the house for the 5 hours was not something I wanted prolonged. I argued (!) to receive the service we were promised, without paying the extra $500 they were asking for. It must have taken over 45 minutes on the phone. The third visit I stayed home from work, borrowed a gas mask from my neighbour, set up all my baby monitors and watched through my window to monitor the work. When the spraying was done, I used the gas mask and went into the house to check the places I couldn't see on baby cam. This company prides themselves on excellent customer service (they even have a greeting message that says they're the best in the biz when you call). I'd never work with them again. They made something that should have taken 4 weeks take 6; they displaced my family for no reason. They never offered an apology and they tried to hang us for more money after we had paid up front.

This company came recommended by a friend. Tony came out to quote the project and he seemed very knowledgable and competent. The wait for our door/install was lengthy - but we decided to wait it out. No problems there. The invoice was very vague. I called and insisted that the details Tony had mentioned during the quote were added before signing and paying the deposit. I called to confirm the installation because we wanted to make sure one of us was home for the install. They confirmed with us for Friday at noon. My partner arranged to have the day off (without pay). At four o'clock the day before they called to cancel the install - insisting that the job they were in the midst of would take them an extra two days. It was too late for my partner to reclaim the day (so we lost income there for no reason) and I explicitly told the sectary that the company was pretty flakey for giving us very little notice. She was very offended by this statement - to which I pointed out that if the job they were in the midst of needed an extra two days worth they should have been able to figure that out much sooner than 4PM the day before our job. They have, as she stated, been in the business for 30 years. The door was done well - except they built it on top of a drain grate that we can now no longer lift of up to clean. So that's a bit of an issue.

Getting the quote from this company was easy. Ron came out to the house and was timely and organized. However, we specifically asked if the work could be done before our move in date. It was a deal breaker for us that the closet installation be in place before moving day. We wouldn't have worked with them if they weren't able to meet our deadline. Our install date was scheduled for a Friday. I called Tuesday to confirm the date. Yes- confirmed. I called Thursday morning to confirm. Yes - confirmed. I received a call Thursday afternoon (literally three hours after my second confirmation call - I've been burnt by so many contractors now I know to call and confirm) saying that they wouldn't be coming on Friday. They said it was due to improper delivery (or poor quality of delivery materials) and that they couldn't get it done before Saturday (our moving date). I spent time on the phone with the secretary and then one of the owners. I'll give him credit - he spent a lot of time speaking to me about the issue. What upset me was that he kept blaming his supplier... and I kept reminding him that I was his customer, and he was the customer of the supplier. It matters to me that contractors take responsibility for their company. I'm not hiring the supplier; I'm hiring you. Ultimately the owner sent his guys to install the closet on our moving day. Luckily they were almost done the install by the time we arrived at our new house with all of our stuff. That being said, emphasizing that he was paying his guys extra for working on a Saturday just to get our job done seemed a bit silly to me. That isn't my business as the customer. That is the cost of him doing his business and he should direct his agitation at his supplier for this extra cost. They weren't able to finish the install (two drawers were missing); but they did come back and get this done within the week. I do like the finished product. I'd recommend them. That being said, you may want to call and confirm at least three times.
