Joel and his team were great! They provided and installed four pot lights in my wife's sewing room, following his recommendation, and ceiling fixtures we provided in two bedrooms. These jobs involved new wiring in the attic and cutting the ceilings. They installed a new outlet in the kitchen that had been overlooked by a previous electrician. This required fishing a new wire and Joel needed to cut an access in the drywall to fish it. He worked in the fridge cavity so patching and painting was unnecessary. His team also replaced a handful of various other items. I am extremely fussy about dust and mess. I worried unnecessarily. Their work was impeccable, partly because they vacuumed as they cut. They did all this within four to four and a half hours. We plan to call Joel again when we're ready to replace our outdated hall fixtures.

It was the fall of 2016 when I closed my garage door from the inside and prepared to do some woodworking. Moments later I heard the loud bang that indicates a spring had let go. After dramatically (for me) escaping through the back door and climbing the side fence to gain access to the house, I checked Homestars and found Capital Garage Door. Albert (the Russian version) answered and said he could come between five and seven that evening. He arrived soon after five and quickly assessed the situation and gave me options. He replaced the spring on the problem side and both cables. (I had replaced the other spring previously.) He suggested a new bracket on the same side because the original had rusted and would cause premature corrosion of the new cable. When the work was complete, he had lubricated all the hinges and advised me how to do so in future. He had also added some simple brackets at intervals to give support to the bottom board of our heavy wooden door. I told him I was pleased with the same day service and he pointed out that it says so right on the business card he handed me. Great service. Thanks, Albert.

I guess when you order a simple dryer installation and not a major furnace or air-conditioner job, you are likely to end up with the least-experienced technician. Philosophically-speaking, everybody has to learn sometime. After seeing the predominantly glowing reviews (and one bad one) in Homestars, I decided to try Premier, as recommended by my usual repair company which doesn't do gas. I was happy that they offered to come the same day. After an hour and a half, including a trip to the shop for an adapter, the tech presented the bill, which was greater than expected - although I know I should have anticipated that is always a possibility. Then he noted that he had not hooked up the intake hoses for the steam feature. Instead, he offered to tell me how to do it. I was not pleased and asked him to complete the hookup (at an additional cost he estimated at about fifty dollars). I immediately reconsidered, saying I would complete the job myself, at which point he said he would do it without further charge. After the correction of a small mixup between the hot and cold supply the job was virtually complete. (With this process, the unnecessary disconnection of the washer's hot input hose revealed a seized end fitting, making re-installation difficult. I purchased a new and better one later that evening to return the washer to duty.) I was a grumpy old customer while the tech was here, but was pleased when the job was finally done and I appreciated the fact that the fellow stayed to complete the job without further expense. It was not a smooth ride but I think he sincerely wanted to leave me a satisfied customer.

Renovation is always a little stressful and there's always some housecleaning involved. All in all, these guys made the experience a good one. They completed the reno of our powder room and the stripping and drywalling of our cold storage below it on time and with very pleasing results. The workers were professional, friendly and cheerful. Francis, who did a beautiful tiling job on the floor and wainscot, even shovelled snow to help my wife out of the laneway! We are very glad we hired Your Reno Guys! Next stop, kitchen!
