Mike and his crew did an excellent job on the replacement of our existing concrete porch and walkway. The job was completed in just over a week after receiving an estimate, whereas other companies were estimating a 6-8 week wait. The job was a bit challenging — our walkway is very narrow, so they removed excavated material without a wheelbarrow. They used buckets! They also added integrated drainage at my request at the last minute. Kudos to Mike's crew – they were very polite and accommodating. The final cost increased by a small amount at the end of the job – the original concrete was much thicker than he has originally guessed, and this incurred additional labour and disposal. No complaints, I found this to be very reasonable. We are very pleased with the whole experience, and would not hesitate to use Mike again or recommend him to our friends.

After my old furnace's blower died – and the dropping outside temperature forced us to make a quick decision – I contacted Boris. He came by on short notice, spent a very detailed and informative 40 minutes assessing my home's needs. His recommendation took my tight budget into consideration, and included a basic 95% AFUE two-stage furnace sized for my brick-insulated century-old Toronto semi, and a detailed plan on venting and draining. This included an outstanding 10-yr P&L warranty. The installers arrived less than 24 hours later, on time, and got work immediately. They did the cleanest, most clever installation I've seen. They even repaired and seamlessly hooked up my humidifier to the new furnace. They definitely took pride in their work. Most importantly, the installer spent 30 minutes at the end showing me exactly what they've done, what to keep an eye on, and answered all my questions. I'd like to contrast this with my experience with another HVAC contractor rated highly on this site. The salesperson took over 2 hours of my Sunday afternoon, forcing terrible corporate videos upon us, and refusing to actually quote a price until after extolling the virtues of a $4200, ridiculously over-featured 98% AFUE furnace that required a $500 thermostat to unlock it's potential.

Red Bins is a division of Fairlight Disposal. Please see my review of Fairlight for more detail, but in a nutshell I had a very positive experience with Red Bins. Would definitely use them again.

Rented a 4-yard cleanfill bin for the disposal of soil for my backyard patio project. The bin was delivered by Red Bins (a division of Fairlight) a little later in the day than I would have preferred, particularly since I arranged for a pick up only two days later, but this turned out not to be an issue. The bin was placed on the street as arranged, and was placed perfectly (right in front of the house, hugging the curb). The driver (Alfonso) was great, reachable by phone and managed to do a tricky pickup with very little room in front of the bin on a busy Saturday morning. Would definitely use them again.

I received 5 quotes for replacing my roof, which were all over the map, ranging from $7,000 to $20,000 (one even wanted $10,000 for scaffolding alone!). My roof was a bit tricky for a number of reasons: - was already leaking - needed removal of 3 layers of old shingles - steep slopes - flat-roofed sections - very high up (3 stories), and only 4' from the sidewalk - fascia & soffit needed replacing - late November (cold & not much daylight) Professional Roofers' estimate was not the lowest, but it was very reasonable. Furthermore, their estimator/representative (Diego) provided me with a comprehensive quote, and took the time to explain all the details of the work. The roofers arrived on time, completed on schedule and cleaned up the mess (my property, the adjacent neighbours' and sidewalk) very well. They used high quality materials and the finished work looks great. The only reason I docked them a star is that the metalwork guys left a bit of a mess (asphalt and strips of metal) in my backyard, and the roofers overlapped my neighbour's roof by a fair bit (I own a semi). I am fine with the latter if it was necessary to prevent a leak, but I would have liked to have known that this may happen in advance so I could have selected shingles that better matched the neighbours'. Overall, very satisfied.

After an outrageous quote from a certain store's installation service, I contacted Traian. He responded to my request promptly, reviewed my kitchen plan, and provided me with a very fair quote. I had used the IKEA Kitchen Planner software, consulted with their Kitchen Department staff and placed my order before having contacted TS. He noted a few issues with my plan, and provided cost-effective solutions resolve these issues. He showed up on time, stayed on schedule, used very professional tools, communicated his progress frequently, left no mess behind, and most importantly, took great pride in his work. His knowledge of IKEA kitchen products is comprehensive (don't trust IKEA's listed measurements!), and as a guy, he's very personable. I wish every contractor experience was like this. Needless to say, I am completely satisfied with his work, and would recommend him to anyone.
