We Hired A&E based on their knowledge, professional and timely quote, and salesmanship. Unfortunately, the work was not to the same standard. After our HRV control was broken on install and only found after the electrician had to move it, we noticed a number of other issues. Our Cold Air return count was 2 instead of the 3 quoted, the joints on almost all of the tin work was only sealed on the bottom part and not the tops, two of the exhaust pipes hung over an inch below drywall and had to be fixed so the diffusers sat flush on the ceiling, one of the cold air returns was set in studs that backed onto an unfinished wall that has the HRV mounted to it so there was no seal. Our furnace stopped working due to wiring in the HRV connections that was done wrong. We give A&E a 5 total only for the fact that Andrew was really good to speak with and was prompt in getting the quotes out and addressing the broken controller. He was injured and on crutches when we asked him to come and look at the concerns. So in all fairness he couldn't climb a ladder so we give him the benefit of the doubt for the other issues missed. However, with all of the issues, and we haven't listed them all, we did not call them back a second time for repairs and decided to call a different company to come and complete the work.

Bob was timely with attending for a quote and getting a quote back to us. Price was detailed and very reasonable. Bob is very personable and efficient. The work was completed in the time frame he stated and was very tidy. The inspector also commented on how well done the work was. Highly recommend him for any development as he also has great ideas for what to do.

McCance was prompt in getting a quote back, were very professional and actually re-did the plumbing that was completed by the builder as it was not correct. They completed the work in a timely fashion and communicated well throughout the process with us. They were courteous while completing the work, and only turned off the water when it was necessary. They completed the undesirable task of breaking up concrete with no issues, when other companies that provided quotes did not want to. The building inspector commented on how great the work was, both plumbing and gas. Update 2016-07-29 - We Came to McCance for an A/C quote and they were able to beat a very competitive price. McCance took the time to answer our questions as to why we should go with the bigger A/C unit instead of the smaller one quoted by the other companies, which included that it was more work to make the bigger one fit. They went the extra mile with out question. This was especially true after they fixed issues with our recently installed HRV system that was poorly wired, and a number of HVAC issues from a competing company that did the HVAC work in our basement development, and all as part of our quoted price for A/C only. Ben and Chris have been spectacular to deal with and everyone that they have sent out have been of the highest caliber. We have no complaints and highly recommend them and their company. Our only regret was not recognizing that they did HVAC when we hired the other guys.
