Scott helped us install some smart switches and troubleshoot some existing wiring issues. When Scott was done, it was perfect. We've used Scott for 3 different projects over the last year. He's timely, reliable and effective. 10/10 - can't go wrong.

Based on reviews found on HomeStars, we reached out to Markham Garage Doors for a quote on a full replacement on both the garage door and opener. The quote was fast (same-day), was priced reasonably, and compared well against other quotes. We worked with Kevin, who I cannot say nicer things about. He was quick to respond to questions, clearly very knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make the ordering process easy. His estimate for a delivery date (which of course is dependent on the door manufacturer) ended up being perfectly accurate. Once the door arrived from the manufacturer, Theresa helped us book the first-available timeslot. A few days later, an earlier service date became available, so Theresa offered that to us if we wanted it. (We absolutely did!) On the day of the install, the installers showed up perfectly on time and did a fantastic job of installing. They were courteous, and happy to answer all of our questions. We couldn't really have asked for much more! Note: in addition to the door, we got the aluminum capping done around it. Based on the result, we highly recommend it - it really makes the door visually pop so much more! All in all, this really was a 12 out of 10. Markham Garage Doors are clearly pros that know what they're doing. Another bonus was that working with Kevin and Theresa was consistently great from start to finish. We recommend them 100%.

This was our second project with Wow 1 Day Painting. This time, we had a powder room, laundry room and exterior door that needed painting. The entire process from reaching out for a quote to project completion took less than 3 days! I have nothing but positive things to say. "Wow" is indeed the feeling I've gotten from the project's results. Domenic's response time was very fast, and the quote was reasonable. We also REALLY liked our painter, Chantalle. She was prompt, thorough, and exceeded every expectation!

We needed a row of smart switches installed, but there wasn't enough real estate in the box, so we called Gord's Electric. Scott arrived on-time, was very personable, and was clearly well-experienced. He did a great job, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I called up Climax to get my fireplace and furnace serviced. A technician come out and during the furnace service, noticed severe issues that required a full replacement. The old furnace was even inappropriately sized for the house (existing furnace was too powerful). So, the next day, the technician returned with a colleague and a replacement furnace. They worked quickly and did great work. I would recommend Climax without reservation.

Many of our front entry steps had been weathered, cracked and chipped. Other stones were falling apart, thus posing a significant danger to any visitors coming over. The main compounding problem was that these particular steps were no longer being manufactured. Based on their exceptional rating on HomeStars, we called up Rostica. After an initial inspection, Emin went out of his way and spent many hours searching high and low for this obsolete stone. It turned out that he was actually able to find the exact stones left over in a stone yard across the city. The day after locating these, he installed them beautifully. On top of that, he even threw down some polymeric sand across my entire walkway. Overall, Emin went out of his way to ensure satisfaction, and the work quality was great. I strongly recommend Rostica without reservation!

We hired Potlight Experts based on their reviews on HomeStars. They certainly lived up to their excellent rating. The crew took the time to discuss our different options, installed 10 potlights in under an hour, and left the place spotless. Better yet, the price was very reasonable. We couldn't be happier with the service, and have no hesitation recommending them to others. We will certainly use Potlight Experts for all future projects.

The master bathroom had a shower leak that caused water damage that was visible from the floor below. We went with The Great Plumbing Co due to great reviews on HomeStars. We have no regrets whatsoever! Jeff arrived exactly within the promised window, immediately found the issue, and resolved it quickly. He was knowledgeable, personable, and also appropriately COVID-conscious. If we ever have any plumbing issues in the future, we have no reason to look elsewhere. TL;DR: 11 stars out of 10! We would highly recommend him!

After reading reviews on HomeStars, I contacted Moore Skylights to install two 14" sun tunnels in an upstairs hallway that is typically very dark when the doors are closed. It turned out to be an incredible decision. Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable, prompt, and a professional. He quickly dropped by for a quote, described the process, provided suggestions to maximize the impact of the sun tunnels, and provided a realistic timeline. Just as importantly, the quote was also very reasonable! On the day of the install, Jeff was on-time and ready to roll. In just a few hours, he re-confirmed the exact locations we were looking for, cut the necessary openings on the roof and ceiling, installed the sun tunnels, and cleaned up after himself. The difference between the before and after is night and day (pun intended). There is so much more light now than there was even when all of the lights were on in the past! The transformation is truly incredible. I've attached photos to show the difference. In both the Before and After photos, all of the windows are closed, doors are shut, and lights are off. I would recommend Moore Skylights without any reservation whatsoever.

Based on reviews here on Homestars, I went with Wow 1 Day Painting (York & Durham Region). I could not be happier with the results! Matt and Brian arrived early, and painted an entire floor's hallway, a stairway, and more - within just a few hours. The difference between the before and after is incredible. Their attention to detail was immaculate. I would highly recommend them, and intend to use Wow 1 Day Painting for all future painting work.

I had a broken basketball system, a shelf and a few other small pieces that I needed to get rid of. I sent a request online for same-day removal, and, truth be told, was skeptical that they'd be able to show up so soon. However, it turns out I was wrong. I got a call back about an hour after I sent in my request. They confirmed logistics, explained pricing, etc. They showed up promptly at the requested time, and were able to deal with the junk pretty quickly. The cost was a bit more than I was hoping prior to contacting the company, but the approximate quote they gave me over the phone was pretty accurate. I'd definitely recommend them to all.

I used Double Diamond for my duct and furnace cleaning, after seeing their stellar reviews on Homestars. Mike and Kyle showed up early and were very efficient. They were able to answer all of my questions, and the price was reasonable. I'll certainly be using their services again the next time my ducts need cleaning!

Nick, Mark and Vannak were the crew that helped us move from a condo to a house. They were prompt and very efficient. The quoted price was pretty much exactly what we paid. I would recommend them without question. If I have to move in the future, I have no reason to look elsewhere.
