Global Vu installed a wireless alarm system in my home January 2017. The previous system was previously hard wired and was about 20 years old and gave us no problems. We wanted to upgrade the technology so we decided to get a whole new system. We went with Global Vu because they got a very competitive monthly rate. The customer service was very good and the people were very nice to work with and welcoming, however the system itself in my opinion is very poor quality. Once the alarm was installed and we were connected with the monitoring centre we kept on getting failure signals from different zones. Sensors stopped working and batteries in many of the units wore out quickly. We have never been able to get the patio door zone to work properly, along with a basement window and the bedroom panel. The main panel has a consistent failure signal too and the monitoring centre consistently calls us twice a week because of system failures. We have had to change the battery in the smoke detector three times. The supervisor Val was very helpful in the beginning and constantly came to fix the alarm, however he was getting frustrated himself and said that he never had this problem before. We constantly need to call into the monitoring company to fix the system failures so unless Global Vu invests in a wireless technology that is more reliable I don't recommend the product. You will need constant servicing which will cost you a ton of money after the three months are up. Below is an image of the additional master bedroom pin pad that came in the package. Overall Global Vu was a good company to work with, however I am very disappointed with all the problems I'm consistently having with their product.

Pierre from aqualseal came to my house in July 2017 to take a look at why our basement is flooding. Immediately upon his arrival he asked for $400 before offering any solutions. We new about the upfront cost however being paid first was his priority rather than exhibiting good costumer service qualities. He paced around the backyard aggitated openly complaining about who had dug up some of the window wells. He was only concerned about being paid $400 first. Against my better judgement, I paid him and he offered absolutely no advice or solution to our problem and did not provide a quote. He said it looks like a weeping tile issue but he doesn't know and won't send his guys in to do the work because we had already dug up some of the soil around the house. He obviously new this before he took my $400. He was rude and sarcastic in his mannerisms to me, my uncle and my landscaper. He never gave us a quote and even though my husband fully explained our situation and the work that had already been done in the backyard Pierre told my husband that day on the phone that he could do the job on the spot before even arriving at our house to look at the work. Overall, I was not satisfied with the level of costumer service he provided, considering that I paid him $400 for an assessment which he did not provide.

Company Response

(1) Aquaseal was at a different 3 window well job in Markham about 30 minutes away with a secretary and 3 more men. We were about an hour or 2 away from finishing up when i fielded a call from New York USA from a homeowner.(2) The home owner stated he understood my minimum service call inspection /consultation fee was $399 +hst, 50 - 100% refundable against future work.(3) Mr Luby Vidnovski agreed to these terms and called his wife at home who also agreed, as he said.(4) I arrived with all my men ready to help out their emergency flooding issue, with 4 window wells backing up and flooding their basement. Mrs Julie Vidnovski started to ask many questions, her uncle and her landscaper were asking many question as well. Julie was already extremely agitated because I insisted to process paper work first, following that her uncle was rude to my secretary.(5) I proceeded to inspect 4 window wells at different stages of excavation, as deep as 8ft - 10 ft without ANY safety shoring at all. These window wells were excavated by their friend, the landscaper, who's men all left the work site just prior to my arrival.(6) The homeowner, the uncle, and the landscaper proceeded to walk to other areas around their pool and property to ask me many more questions about standing water in a 2 ft excavation at the rear of their pool. I guided them about rear lot catch basins and swales, as well as how to get a grading drawing of their property from the city.(7) It was clear once I told them that it was extremely dangerous / unsafe and life treating to of allow my men on their property to work in the deep excavations with so much wetness and standing water without any shoring at all.(8) Mr Luby Vidnovski at no time mentioned partial 8ft - 10 ft deep excavations. I told Mrs Julie Vidnovski I would not send my men into such an unsafe work area, she and her landscaper friend did not like my statement. I said they should get safe legal shoring and then work could commence. If the homeowner mentioned the depth of the unprofessional and wet deep excavations, I wouldn't have made the trip to their home at all. (9) Its clear that Mrs Julie Vidnovski and her landscaper friend were looking for free advice. Also, they are looking to get my services for FREE by removing this review. My suggestion for the future is to hire experienced people for the right job not a landscaper friend. Luckily because of Aquaseal these homeowners did not have to deal with a fatality on their property.
