Prompt reply, excellent communication, very friendly and dependable - showed up exactly when he promised and diagnosed the problem quickly, fixed it in half an hour. If I ever need another appliance repaired they get the job. Thank you Ravi for a job well done.

This is a long story because I think it is fair when leaving a highly negative review to present all the details. I gave this company multiple opportunities to fix what started with small things mixed up to botched appointments to completely vanishing in the night. The company was recommended to us by a realtor acquaintance just as we were finalizing an unexpected and exhausting renovation. All we needed was a deep clean to get our house back to normal after 6 months of crazy and going forward we intended to maintain the clean with regular bi-weekly visits from this company that seemed reliable and professional at first. The owner, Scott, visits and gives an estimate - and he talks a good game. They use gloves (most cleaners don’t), natural cleaners (most cleaners don’t), get police checks for their workers who are “trained”. The first visit was almost ok. They showed up with 10m minutes of warning - not at their scheduled time, brought three people, one of whom is the co-owner Stacey (the only person who knows what she is doing) while the other 2 people were on their first job . OK, that was not what I had expected but fine. Before you think this is picky, imagine expecting cleaners in the afternoon, being disabled at home in bed, having a spouse working from home, and understand that timing and details matter to our family as I painstakingly had explained to Scott. As promised I sent Scott a detailed message after the cleaning team left as he had asked me to do in the name of quality control and so they could “fix anything not done to our satisfaction”. Given that they were only cleaning a 500 s ft basement that was absolutely empty after being renovated, the basement stairs and a laundry room and entrance hallway, I expected three people to do a good job of that. The hallway was not touched at all (Scott had forgotten to tell his wife that it was included) and there were multiple minor issues in the basement but I thought it’s just the first time, it takes new people a while to learn. The second visit was a shambles. They got the date wrong ,and changed it on me... I said ok. Then again on the day of the cleaning, the client before me cancelled and they gave me 10 minute notice again that the crew was on the way at 9:30 instead of my booked 11-12. If you are not home during the day this makes no difference, but it really doesn’t work for us... It was supposed to be a full house effort this time, and although the renovated part - the basement - had been deep cleaned the week before, we were once again charged for a full house deep clean. No problem, good work is worth it, we thought. Team of 3 shows up again, Stacey being the only constant. The other two people are again brand new - their first job with one being heavily pregnant and IMHO in no condition to be doing deep cleaning that I had expected to include, based on my conversation with Scott, wiping all baseboards and all shutters. It’s ok, I needn’t have worried, because the only shutters cleaned were in two rooms - one bedroom and the master bathroom. The vacuuming and mopping, which Scott had promised would be thorough, never reached the corners, never mind under the beds. The same pail of water and mop were used in a rushed 5 minute job at the end, from top to bottom, which left the basement dirtier than before their current visit. I had asked them to get the oven cleaned (extra charge) and they forgot to bring the cleaner for it, but at least they did not charge me for that. All in all, not the “Baeumler approved” service worth $50/hr I expected. And once again, I thought it always takes time to get a new cleaning team used to the house, and maybe they had staffing issues although Scott had been very explicit that they do a great job retaining people because of their fair wages, benefits etc. The next visit was booked for Dec 16, a Monday. That day Scott messaged me that somehow there had been a miscommunication because he had us booked for Wednesday. There was no miscommunication on my part, I had asked from the very beginning for bi-weekly Monday late morning / midday services and have the messages to prove it. I said Wednesday is fine. He also told me they’d move me to regular Tuesday (??? Not the day I asked, maybe check with the client first that it’s ok to switch the day all over the place) starting January... Fine again. Come Wednesday they messaged me that Stacey had a bad back, work was slow and they’d come Friday the 20th. Not ideal and not sure why one person being injured / ill throws the “Company” in disarray but I wished Stacey well and said I looked forward to seeing her Friday. Given the completely screwed up schedule so far on Thursday Dec 19 I messaged to check that Friday was still a go, but by evening I had not heard back. Sent a final message stating that if I don’t hear something by 11 pm, I consider the next day cleaning cancelled. I had no desire to spend a third morning in the same week sitting around in the morning tidying everything and waiting for non-existent cleaners to show up. NEVER heard back from them again. Not a call, not a message, not a peep of apology for their entirely shambolic mess. I understand schedule change, canceling clients (not my fault), hurt manager/ owner, “miscommunication” that is entirely on the service provider part because they are incapable of working a calendar app. I understand that this job involves new employees who tell a client that they have never cleaned professionally in their lives and this is their first job - not for one employee but practically ALL of them except the owner. What I absolutely cannot abide is the complete lack of professionalism and respect for a client who has trusted you. You cannot show up for the third time? Apologize. Explain. Offer to make up for it next time. In a short sentence; avoid. Whatever they promise, they cannot and will not deliver. Rarely have I been so entirely misled and ill served by a company - check my other reviews. We work well with contractors, and have been fortunate to not encounter this type of business before.

Fantastic team. We were frantic after our insurance denied the claim, not even sure which type of contractor we needed to deal with both the inside damages and the outside cause. Dug came in a day after calling, wrote a very professional quote, reassured us that his team could help us empty the full basement and promised to have his guys there quickly. The team started on Monday morning and finished that same day: full demo / removal of the carpet, baseboards, wet bar cabinets, bathroom, affected insulation, and a three piece bathroom - after emptying a full basement and loading it in a 20’ pod! Then they sprayed and treated all affected areas, set up fans and removed all debris in the space of 8 hours. Kevin, the team manager, Lenny, Dave and their colleague (sorry I forgot his name) were fantastic. Super nice, polite, patient, careful with our goods and just a great bunch of guys. You never want to have water damage in your home, but if you do - this is the team to call.

Yuryi is the best. The quality of his work is fantastic, he is on time, he is efficient, he is trustworthy (sad that we are at a point when it is surprising to find a renovation professional you can trust). We did a two step complete reno of our home - the first involved the master bathroom - complete tears own, moving walls, moving water lines, rebuilding it from scratch and it came out beautifully. Not only was the work done on time and done well, Yuryi was a huge help in selecting the fixtures and making sure I got quality items without spending a fortune. We redid the laundry room at the same time and after seeing how these two rooms turned out we trusted Yuryi and Alexei with the rest of a major reno which involved the entire ground floor - gutted the kitchen and the flooring, the powder room, smoothed the ceilings and installed pot lights, the works. Everyone who has seen the Italian tile floor installation has complimented it, and our countertop supplier (who has seen a few kitchens in his time) was amazed at how well installed our Ikea kitchen was. To quote him: "it looks like custom cabinetry". It's true - inexpensive cabinets can be elevated by a great installer, and Yuryi did a great job on all our pullout, pantry and corner cabinetry. A year later, everything works perfectly, we love our renovated home and when I had a question about something six months later, Yuryi stopped by at 9:00 pm to help. That's service. We have already recommended Yuryi to several friends and neighbours, who have all ended up hiring him after seeing our home, and they are equally pleased with the results.

A few years ago we worked with Andrew (the owner) to replace our old melamine countertops with a beautiful quartz and new sink and taps. He did a beautiful job at a reasonable price so this year, when we completely gutted the old kitchen we went back for new countertops. Andrew is super knowledgeable and helpful; he never tries to sell pricier, branded products - he listens to you and then helps you select the best stone for your budget and kitchen. The new countertops look fantastic. Sadly we couldn't reuse the sink we had bought previously, due to the new cabinetry sizing, but we selected a gorgeous, high quality new sink that cost far less than similar styles at the big box stores. His installation is flawless - we had one long length of countertop that due to its position had to be fitted out of two pieces. I was concerned about seeing the line between the slabs, particularly when Andrew suggested fitting the two pieces at the edge of the cooktop. When the countertop was installed I had to actually search to find it, it looks absolutely perfect and seamless. In addition, Andrew is re-fitting our old quartz countertop for the basement wet bar, to save us money on the basement reno. From selection to price and service, you can't do better than Andrew if you are looking for quartz or granite. Hopefully we wont need a new countertop for a while, but when we do, we know exactly where to go.

Patrick and his team just left after a major reno and they were just amazing. We originally received an estimate from Patrick last year and took a long time deciding how much work we were going to get done. We called him back 12 months later and he honoured his initial price, worked with our dates (super flexible!) that could fit with all the other trades working on the full house reno. They are punctual, courteous, extremely helpful (thank you guys for helping with all the furniture replacement on the last day) and the floors look stunning. They cleaned up and did the touch-ups on a Saturday morning, worked through rain and snow in February and were patient with delays due to the the other work going on. You can't do better than these guys - they refinished our old oak bannister and railing, it looks brand new; removed carpet, tile and old hardwood and installed the new floors, always with a smile. We look forward to doing the basement with them next year and highly recommend them. Thanks Patrick!

After getting multiple quotes, ranging from $5500-$8500, I noticed the Colourful Roofing truck at a job site on our street. Although I had decided at that point to hire a company that had already given us a quote, I thought it would noir hurt to get one more, and I am so happy I did. The owner got back to me within the day despite being in the middle of a very busy season. He gave us a great quote and we agreed to go with them. Not only do they install a high quality Canadian premium shingle, their quote was the lowest, they are one of the few companies who bothered to get a license from Oakville City Hall (they also have it for Mississauga and TO). Guaranteed labour for 10 years. What more could you ask for? Today a large team showed up to install the new roof (the shingles were delivered yesterday). They worked hard for 9 hours, kept the site super clean, moved all our patio furniture and pots out of the way to keep them safe, and did it all with a friendly smile. Highly recommend them and if we ever need a new roof on the next home we know who to call.

We have decided to install a humidifier on our furnace and an air purification system. Some of the companies we called gave us quotes and details on the phone, Abbey Air said they needed to schedule an in-home visit to better evaluate what option suits best. (That sounded like a sales pitch but OK, we want to do this right). Our appointment was for yesterday between 11:00 and 2:00 pm. They did not come, they did not call. I waited 24 hours before writing this review to give them time to get in touch with us and explain why they did not respect an appointment at which they were (potentially) going to sell me more than $1,000 worth of equipment and installation, but no, nothing. I would definitely avoid them for service if they bungle even sales calls.

Have been hiring A1 for several years to do regular maintenance on our 14 year old furnace after needing to fix it twice and dealing with other companies about 5 years back. They are excellent at what they do, explain problems and repairs (if required well), send experienced technicians to do the job, arrive when planned. We are installing a humidifier and air purifier with them shortly because we are very happy with their service. The tech who came today happily spent 15 minutes after the service call to discuss the installation and various options of the future humidifier with us and offered some great advice for running our fan on even when the AC / furnace is off to alleviate allergy symptoms. Highly recommend this company.

I interviewed about 7 or 8 contractors for the job when we were planning to renovate our kitchen. All of them had good references from sites like this or lots of positive feedback on their own sites. But... When it came time to quote they would try to upgrade us from our clearly stated goals and budget to a job twice as big or they would suggest additional work such as changing appliance location which made no sense and doubled the cost. When Peter walked in he was totally honest about what could be done with our budget, suggested the things that would make the most impact, provided his contractor discount at a few awesome tile stores where we found much nicer selection than what we uncovered on our own. The job was done well, we have lived with it for 8 months now, it looks great, and the guys will hopefully be back next year to redo our master bath. Finding an honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable contractor is so hard, and we were seriously lucky to get Peter and Jakub recommended by our quartz counter installer, who also did an exceptional job at a good price.

Service person communicated in grunts; could not diagnose problem and when prompted finally said it's probably a system problem. Again when prompted agreed it's best to buy a new fridge. (The one we called for was a 6 year old GE Profile). Charged $100 for the visit. Left fridge in the middle of the kitchen. What a waste of money! Avoid calling this company.
