I called Michael first thing this morning and he was able to come by at 1:00 p.m. today. He was very thorough and gave some excellent recommendations for other work that needed to be done on our home to help with water leakage as well as looking after an issue with carpenter ants. He is very pleasant and guarantees his work. If we see any further problems in the future we are to call him, however, I feel confident that the issue has been resolved. I am very grateful for the Home Stars reviews which is what directed me to Michael. September 28, 2018 To update the above noted review, Michael was very good at identifying the problem but the spray did not work. Michael was notified twice. We are now taking other steps. We have since learned that when you have carpenter ants, there is usually rotting wood and that just leads to other problems.

Oakville Glass and Mirror is a family run business that has been in Oakville many years. We have used them on several occasions to have glass/mirror cut, installation of a glass shower door and just recently purchasing of hardware for our front screen double doors. They are always pleasant and very helpful. Our latest purchase was the hardware for our double screen doors. They were very patient in working with us to get a good replacement that would fit into the holes already drilled into the screen door. We like to DIY and they were again patient and helpful and milled the door strike for us at no charge at their shop to allow the hardware to fit perfectly. We would have never been able to do that adjustment ourselves. The cost of the hardware that we chose was $140.00. We started out trying to solve the problem of broken hardware on an older screen door system at Home Depot. The gentleman there, after looking around for awhile for different options, suggested that we purchase a new screen door for $99.00. We would have had to purchase two doors, trying to match the colour of the enclosure and have them installed. By the time we would have finished it would have been a much more costly option and we would have most likely had great difficulty matching the glass enclosure for the screen doors, compounding the problem. We are absolutely delighted with the recommendations of Oakville Glass and the end result, both with the look as well as the cost savings for us.

We had a large chip out of our bathtub which otherwise was in good shape. The colour was grey. If we were unable to have the tub repaired, it would cost us a new tub, toilet and wall tiles. Grey is not a colour that is readily available as white has taken over the market. We decide to have the tub completely refinished as the least expensive solution. We first spoke with Kim at Superior Refinishing and she was really helpful. She guided us through the colour match process and once that was in place Ryan and Emile came to our home to refinish the tub. They are two very nice gentlemen who were very respectful to us and respectful of our home while they were here. They also offered another solution - repair just the chip vs. having to do the whole tub. After some discussion, we decided to just have the chip repaired rather than reglaze the whole tub and we were delighted with the results. It was a very nice cost savings for us and we very much appreciated the time they spent explaining the process, their honesty and the excellent end result from their workmanship. We could not have asked for better workmanship or overall service and would highly recommend this company.

A Master Craftsman representitve from a kiosk in the mall set up an appointment for a salesman to visit our home. During that visit there were a lot of questions with respect to the origin of the furniture, was it inherited, how old did I think it was etc. An estimated cost of $6,920.00 for the total repair was given. While the salesman was with us he received a phone call and we were told that Christmas had come early, estimated price was now $5,300.00. As time went on they called several times with upgrades that were required. End price was about $7,344.00. After finally getting our furniture back we had an appraisal done - total value for all three pieces - $5,500.00. Imagine our disappointment. Although we were pleased with the final product with the exception of the braiding which had been glued on instead of using tacks as was done with the original we were very unhappy with the business tactics of this company. We would not recommend this company to anyone.
