Staining of a solid maple staircase
An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.
My son recently constructed a solid maple staircase which needed staining. Adam and his crew were diligent in getting the job done, which was no easy task. Maple is a "tight grained" wood, in other words, it's hard to work with, requires quite a bit of conditioner, and there's no guarantee the stains will take as quickly as you want them to. We had budgeted and planned for between 2-3 stain sessions (you have to wait at least 12 hours in between stains before applying another coat) and in the end it came out to 5! Throughout the process from the initial consultation over the phone with Jason, to the final staining with Adam and his crew the staff of moda was professional and helpful. thanks and great job.
