My freezer defrost drain clogs with ice. I email GTA Appliances for a quote and someone phones after 5 minutes. A few days later. Chris from Quick Fix Appliances, shows up, and charges $226 to remove ice and defrost the frozen drain. No diagnosis, no effort to check for a root cause. Nothing done that I didn't already do for myself. No guarantee at all, only a notation that it will cost me $600 for the next attempt. Three weeks later, freezer is failing again. No expertise, freezer not fixed. This company seems to rip people off for shoddy work.

My upstairs neighbor's plumbing leaked and ruined my bathroom ceiling. I called four of the contractors rated tops by HomeStars, but none of them is interested in so small a job. One of them recommended Matt, however, and after a few weeks, we had Matt here for two days. He ripped out the old ceiling, installed new sheetrock, plastered and painted. Matt did very nice work at a reasonable price, with much attention to small details. I highly recommend him.

Dwayne was quick to respond, thoughtful and cost-competitive. On the job, Dwayne had trouble due to shoddy work by prior contractors, but he stuck to his quote despite the extra time it cost him. After the work was finished, we found that our hot water pressure was low. Dwayne came back three days later, tracked the problem down to surplus solder in a joint he installed and corrected the problem.
