Philip was helpful providing the quote but I should have asked or more details. I was left with the impression that they could help me pick out materials needed that I had to pay extra for like a magazine or brochure. (Some companies are members at a private store for builders/renovators) There were update extras offered on the quote but were never mentioned afterwards. Eli who was in charge of the job only came twice, once for an initial look and gave me the names of 3 flooring companies, then to drop off the 3 people doing the work. Never heard from those 2 again. Mark and the other 2 were combined carpenters, electrician, plumber, plasterer, painter... I actually expected single trade persons rather than multi-trade, not that thats bad its just what I thought, maybe I watched to much HGTV. I paid over $2000 extra to have the 3 bedrooms and the Kitchen ceiling painted, there are see through spots in the kitchen never addressed, Mark listened to my few complaints but were not addressed. In the end I still had to fix a few things. The job site was never cleaned at the end of the day or week, plaster debris was in the supply vent in the bathroom that we found a week after the job was completed. Then that was it, just an email request for the final payment, no walkthrough, nothing. I felt a real lack of professionalism and a lack of respect. I suggest asking more questions and getting a clear idea of who is doing the work and what kind of assistance they will be providing especially when the quote is mainly labour costs.
