Scott was a pleasure to work with - he and his team created three wonderful spaces for our family to enjoy for years to come. I echo other reviewers to say that Scott is professional, organized, provides really helpful suggestions and tips, and works with you all along the way to achieve the best result. Any time we came across an issue, he worked to help resolve it in the best way possible. (And you have to know in projects there are always going to be issues, so you want someone like Scott on your side.) Oh, and James' finishing work is meticulous. Thanks! Another point I want to mention is that I really appreciated the times where I was called aside when there were potential conflicts between "form and function" (i.e. my designer's choices and the contractors' realities), to help inform decisions before a step got started. Whether it be where to start a full cut tile or where to place a shelf, I highly recommend taking the extra time in a project to talk with the team along the way - they have some really smart suggestions!

Renato’s quote was 25% lower than a “commercial” competitor, with better equipment, for a full furnace and AC replacement. He communicated right away, did the job the following week, and he and his team were in and out in under a morning! He identified and/or resolved some intake and humidifier issues, just out of his desire to ensure the job was professional, and even had his team provide some training on my smart thermostat. I highly recommend working with him!

Julian responded promptly to my HomeStars service request and came next day to troubleshoot my ailing central vac. With his years of experience he was able to immediately determined the source of the problem to be the ancient unit itself. He provided me repair/replace options and we decided to go with replace. He checked our existing attachments and didn’t try to sell us extras we didn’t need. He was friendly and professional, and fast at his work! The new unit is powerful, made in Canada and we’ll be calling Julian if ever we have a need in the future. Thanks!

Kas and Joe from Avenue Road Roofing came to my house in the snow this week to help me deal with a leaky bathroom vent and a dislodged soffit panel. They were both very courteous (even humerous!), and completed the work quickly and competently. Kas even remembered me from a job he completed for me last summer. I would highly recommend this company and ask for them by name if I have any issues in the future! Great customer service, thanks guys.

Last year our dishwasher stopped draining and leaked all over our kitchen floor. I called The Appliance Service People and their repair person, Simon, was at my door the next day. Simon took the dishwasher apart, suspecting he had to replace the motor. He'd planned ahead, and brought a new motor with him (instead of charging for the "evaluation" then coming back with the part another day, like some companies I've dealt with do!). When he found that our motor was fine, and there was just an elastic band stuck in it, he had the honesty to show this to me. I would never have known if he just took it out and charged me anyways, but he was open and forthcoming about this and only charged me for the service call! Amazing. Last night at 10pm, our fridge stopped working. I called the main office expecting to leave a message but instead someone picked up right away. I asked for Simon by name and he was on my doorstep by noon today, again, part in hand for fixing the likely problem. He evaluated what was needed, didn't change out the part just yet because he wants to be sure before charging me for an expensive part, and told me what to look out for. Right now my fridge is running, and I know exactly who to call if it fails again. Thanks Simon, and The Appliance Service People, for truly exceptional service.

Trent worked with our designer to reno our bathroom. This involved taking out the old shower stall, moving the plumbing and enclosing it in glass with a half wall. We also had a new vanity, toilet and lights. As with when Trent did our kitchen we were pleased with the quality of work and care that Trent himself imparted on the job. When we ran into some trouble with the subcontractors, Trent worked to make sure everything was right in the end and our bathroom is now our favourite room in the house. If we were doing this project over, the change I would make is to give Trent and our designer the opportunity to sit down and discuss the plans in advance so that they could mutually point out potential issues prior to the start and so that everyone was on the same page. I should finish by re-iterating how much Trent really cares about the outcome of a job. He also helped out with a few minor issues after the fact, to make sure that we were (and we are) totally happy with the end product.

Trent and his team did our full kitchen reno in late 2010 and we were extremely happy with their service. We had the island (including plumbing moved to expand the space, got new cupboards installed (including a major layout improvement), floor tile and backsplash added, a new granite countertop and a new sink and hardware. I have already recommended Trentco Construction to a number of friends and will continue to do so whenever I get the chance. The guys were punctual, professional, tidy and most importantly provided top-notch workmanship. Tent worked with us through any problems that arose along the way and communicated timelines and any hiccups along the way with candor. He went above and beyond for a number of things - a sizing/ordering issue with the cupboard supplier that we had picked, and a not-so-level ceiling section (that's now level!) to name a few. We really enjoyed seeing them transform our kitchen as we had envisioned - Thanks Trent. I've attached before and after photos so you can see the amazing final product.
