Last year our dishwasher stopped draining and leaked all over our kitchen floor. I called The Appliance Service People and their repair person, Simon, was at my door the next day. Simon took the dishwasher apart, suspecting he had to replace the motor. He'd planned ahead, and brought a new motor with him (instead of charging for the "evaluation" then coming back with the part another day, like some companies I've dealt with do!). When he found that our motor was fine, and there was just an elastic band stuck in it, he had the honesty to show this to me. I would never have known if he just took it out and charged me anyways, but he was open and forthcoming about this and only charged me for the service call! Amazing.
Last night at 10pm, our fridge stopped working. I called the main office expecting to leave a message but instead someone picked up right away. I asked for Simon by name and he was on my doorstep by noon today, again, part in hand for fixing the likely problem. He evaluated what was needed, didn't change out the part just yet because he wants to be sure before charging me for an expensive part, and told me what to look out for. Right now my fridge is running, and I know exactly who to call if it fails again.
