We had them install a new deck for us last year. Our previous one was terrible and no way up to code. They provided the design and gave us options on the types of wood we could use (we ended up going with the Trexx engineered wood). They also provided us an option to have a tempered glass for part of the railing. The work itself went well. They did the: - Demolition - Installation of Sonotubes - Construction of the deck - Installation of the glass for the deck We are really happy with the result. It was figuratively night and day between what we had and what we got in its place. It's safer than what we had before (proper steps and hand railing) and provides more area in general. They were great to deal with. We found them to be very professional and nice to interact with. Would use them again in the future.

We saw Renewal by Andersen at the Green Living Show (2019) and visited their booth as we needed our windows replaced. Our sales experience with Bryon was great. He took the time to explain how Andersen was different and what their product offered and made some suggestions along the way. Our installation went really well. Ben and his crew were really nice and professional, often asking if there was anything else they could do or go above and beyond for us. The new windows are great and we feel they are making a difference. Our home is generally chilly and anything that can help insulate definitely helps.

We are extremely happy with the work that was done. Not only that, but they are very professional in the following ways: - Professional and accurate quotes - Very communicative. We always knew ahead of time when they were coming to do work and could schedule accordingly. The same thing for rescheduling as well - Very flexible. Was willing to work around our schedule if we could not do a specific day or time - Friendly and easy to talk to - Always used licensed tradespeople for things like plumbing and electrical work - Used quality materials and for our project used anti-mold insulation. Would not use a material if it would not look good or if there was a potential quality issue with it We also had a small problem that we found and they came the next day to fix it. We're really happy we chose them and we intend to have them work on our next project

Choosing Penguin Basements was by far one of the best decisions we made for our house. After we moved in May, we realized we need to renovate our basement as the house was owned by an ex heavy smoker and the basement was particularly affected by it. We went to the 2017 Green Living Show and stumbled across the Penguin booth. I had heard about them and ended up getting a flyer. We reached out to them a couple of months later and met with Dave who took us through the process of how they build the basement using mold resistant materials as well as the process from start to finish and even did a quick design. The great thing is that we could ask for things without a concern of it not being able to be done. For example, one of the big upgrades we asked for was to go to a 200amp electrical from the 100 amp we had. We really liked the fact they used quality materials and that they had a financing option. We also liked the options we had during our selections appointment with Gem. There wasn't a point where we thought our options were limited with the exception of the toilet selection. I think they have more selections now, but there was only one that we could choose from at that time. They had so many base options that we only upgraded one item which was the tiling. We didn't have to stress about upgrading any other materials which put us at ease. The project was supposed to start in July 2017 but due to a busy schedule, construction didn't start until November 2017. Before the start of it, the electrical, floor leveling and demolition was able to happen to get everything prepared. Jon (the project manager) and his team were able to come in and finalize the design with us. Once construction started, it was really fast. We have a small basement, but even still, when a trade came in, it was able to finish the same day or a couple of days. The thing that shocked me the most was how friendly and engaging the tradespeople were. I find most tradespeople unapproachable, but not these ones. I can tell Penguin puts effort in hiring the right people. Claudio came by at the end to note a few small items that were missed. I never had to stress that they missed something. The result of the basement was a night and day difference and we are absolutely pleased with the end result. It looks professional and high quality. We never go down there ever feeling that it is cheap. In terms of issues, we had the following small items: - We didn't always know what trade was coming in and when. Sometimes we did, but it wasn't consistent - We originally asked for Magnesium drywall, but they installed another kind (which is just as good, it's purple in color). The benefit of the mistake as the Magnesium boards can be prone to cracking and we got a credit back for using the other - When the electrician was done one day he accidentally shut off the stove at the breaker and had a bit of a hard time trying to get him to fix it before he left for the day We ended up having a Manhattan ceiling and a bathroom with a shower that was heads and tails better than what we had previously. We kept everything open concept to maximize the room and have extra outlets and lighting that wasn't an option before. Overall I would recommend Penguin without question.

You're very kind, thanks for the positive review. We took note of areas for improvement because we always want to be better. So yes, more toilets and other improvements for 2018. Happy Holidays, and enjoy your basement for many more years to come.

My wife and I bought a house that used to be occupied by a heavy smoker. Paul and Noam came in and not only cleaned the ducts, but also sprayed some Benefact that really helped with the smoke smell. They were both very knowledgeable and professional and I felt at ease right away. They worked quickly and efficiently and I was very pleased with the result. I would not hesitate to use them next time.

Thank you so much "Shortt." Your home was truly amazing. It allowed my imagination to take flight, as I'm sure it will with you and your wife. Can't wait to see what you achieve with your new home in the next few years, so be sure to call back. PS. Noam and I really enjoyed visiting and meeting with you. You're a cool guy!
