Hiring Aquila Contracting was and still is the biggest mistake I have made in my life. Financially, it's been as big a disaster as the bathroom they renovated. My second biggest mistake was giving them an out to not pursue them in small claims court for their "finished work" (I sought for a mutual release from my remaining financial obligations) There was no way I was going to let them near other bathrooms in my house with this work and lack of attention to detail. This took two months to look like this. COVID supply chain issues and leaving to start/finish other projects were the main reasons Aquila Contracting in my opinion did a terrible job on my bathroom. I am not a professional contractor, nor do I even consider myself handy. I was however a naive homeowner looking for professional help in improving our house. I had many sleepless nights on this project and spent hours researching things like ANSI tile standards and Schluter edge protectors. Much to the chagrin of my wife. They didn't tile correctly, (excessive tile lippage) didn't put edge protectors in properly, didn't grout properly leaving tiles with no grout or filling spaces with silicon. They did not silicone properly and made a mess of what they did do around my bathtub, and definitely didn't paint properly. Their painter painted over the mortar that had settled on my walls instead of removing it. I'll let the pictures explain further None of this was even attempted to be fixed by Matt after discussing face to face the shortcomings in his company's work.

Hi David,

From the first meeting we had, it was discussed that you would supply all materials, and once we started the project, the scope started to change as well as asking us to source, supply and deliver materials. As we do flat rate Contracting, not cost plus, we were put on the spot to help supply your materials for the project, as we didn't want to take on any additional costs that weren't included in the original quote and wanted to help build a positive working relationship.

The project was not ideal from either parties perspective, which we discussed formally and came to a resolution to end the contract mutually.

Contacted Drew and Bocomra after reading that he was highly recommended here and some social media groups I belong to. Glad he responded to my request and that he had the availability to help with my bathroom remodel. Communication with Drew was pleasant and he responded quickly to questions or concerns that I had when trying to secure a starting work date that would work with my general contractor who would not touch electrical work. His quote for the work being asked was very reasonable, he stuck to that price after completing work to a very high standard even though he to grab some extra materials to make sure the job was done correctly. (a previous homeowner here had done some crazy wiring between rooms) He took some extra time on his way out the door to help me with a porch light that has not worked since the winter. I have no reservations about contacting Bocomra again for any electrical work that I may need to have done in the future. If you're thinking about having electrical work done in the near future, I think it's a good idea to reach out to them and at least get a quote and a quick discussion about your project.
