We hired Bath Style in 2021 for a complete gut and redesign of our bathroom and the results were phenomenal. The quality of Elton's and his team's work was impeccable - it exceeded all of our expectations. Elton was thoughtful, knowledgeable, creative and patient as we worked through a few different designs in order to maximize space and create an efficient space. We were absolutely thrilled with the entire process and the final result when the job was completed (and still are, three years later!). We have completed many renovations in our home and the project with Bath Style was by far the cleanest and least disruptive. We look forward to working with Bath Style again for future projects!

We had an exceptional experience with ITB Landscaping. They completed a huge job replacing all of the retaining walls and stairs at the front of our home. We received a number of quotes and designs from other companies, but felt the most confident with Robs vision for the project and his expertise. Given the scope of the job, there were a number of design decisions that couldnt be made until the work was underway - Rob made us aware of best case and worst case scenarios and had a clear plan for both. We appreciated his willingness to work with our ideas, and the guidance he provided on materials, design, etc. The quality of the work and the attention to detail exceeded our expectations on all fronts (the railing they designed and built for us feels like a work of art!). We were absolutely thrilled with the final result - a complete transformation of the front of our house. All members of the crew were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with our questions - a reliable and hardworking group of guys. The site was left as clean as possible at the end of each day and the crew was very respectful of neighbouring properties. The job was completed on time and within budget. From start to finish, the care and enthusiasm that Rob and his team brought to our project made for a smooth and stress-free renovation experience.

We hired Lee for the third time to do a custom closet in our baby’s nursery. As always, Lee did a fantastic job with exceptional attention to detail. The custom design was creative and maximized storage space while accommodating a sloped ceiling. Lee consulted with us throughout the project and suggested enhancements to the design as the project moved along. He worked quickly and efficiently and was careful to prevent dust and debris from making their way to other areas of the house. Lee’s talent, creativity and character have quickly made him our ‘go to’ for all projects in our home.

Working with Lee was the best decision we could have made for our kitchen renovation. Our project was a big one – complete gut and redesign in a 100 year old house. Lee was fantastic to work with and exceeded our expectations on all fronts, from the initial design phase, demolition, renovation and right through to the final details. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and was able to anticipate potential challenges, accurately budget the project, execute perfectly according to schedule and keep us informed throughout the whole project. His attention to detail is impeccable – the final product looks like a completely custom kitchen, no one can believe it is Ikea. Lee took down a partition wall to open up the back of the kitchen, removed a drop ceiling, made custom pull outs underneath the cabinets for baking sheets, customized the cabinets around our fridge and microwave so they look built in, installed under cabinet lighting, built a full pantry, and worked with all the imperfections of an old house to make sure everything is perfectly level. We are thrilled with the final results, and a few months later the excitement still hasn’t worn off. His partner Danny, and the subcontractors he brought in were all excellent. In addition to the kitchen, we also hired Lee to do custom drawers underneath our stairs for extra storage, which turned out beautifully. A big factor in making the experience so positive for us was Lee’s personality. Renovations can be extremely stressful and Lee’s patience, kindness, honesty and optimism were invaluable to us. We would highly recommend Lee and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Ylli and has father did an outstanding job repairing and capping the front window on the second level of our home. The responsiveness and communication from Rama was far superior to the other companies we had spoken to about the repairs. Ylli provided details on the scope of the work, including the process and the technical aspects of the work, and the job was started within a few days of our first phone call. He answered all of our questions and shared examples of other projects that had similar requirements to ours. They showed up on time, were respectful of our home and the neighboring homes, and their work was meticulous. We were extremely impressed with the final product and plan to hire Rama again in the near future for more work on the exterior of our home.

We purchased an old home with knob and tube wiring and needed up upgrade all of the electrical in the house in order to obtain home insurance. Another contractor recommended Yunior to us and we were incredibly impressed with him from the day we met him. He is a pleasure to work, extremely knowledgeable, honest and patient. As new home owners, we had no idea what to expect with respect to the scope of work and the price, but talked through our wish list with Yunior and heard his recommendations (all of which were extremely valuable). In addition to removing the knob and tube and upgrading the electrical to code, pot lights were installed through the whole house, ceiling fans, outdoor receptacles, front porch light, bathroom vanity lights, and a smart thermostat. Yunior was very knowledgeable when it came to the type of pot lights and spacing, and placement of receptacles and switches. The pot lights have completely transformed the look of the house. When he came across unexpected challenges (as there always are in old houses) he was quick to contact us to check in before proceeding with work around. He routinely checked in with us to provide updates and let us know where things were at. We were really impressed with how few holes he needed to make in the walls to complete the job. Yunior also came back a year later when we were having issues with our AC (that ended up not being an electrical issue). The whole project was a stress-free experience and we were so grateful to work with someone so honest - we would highly recommend Yunior for any electrical job.

We purchased a Nest thermostat from a big box store and contacted Simply Smart based on the list of recommended installers on the Nest website. The cost of the installation was $160. Upon arrival, the two installers (salesmen) aggressively promoted that we "purchase" a Nest thermostat through their company, paying only $5 a month, and with that we would get free installation. They were pushy and extremely convincing - we fell for it. Deep in the fine print of the agreement it states that the fee is a rental fee, and at the end of the 60 month term the thermostat can be returned or purchased at "fair market value". Buying out of the contract is upwards of $700, when the thermostat itself retails for $300. They also tried to up-sell us with a protection plan for our furnace, AC, and a HEPA filter. A few days after installation they called back to again ask if we had decided to get a HEPA filter, and continued to try to make a sales pitch for why we should. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and am shocked that Nest has this company on their list of suggested installers.

From the first consult right through to the follow up after the job was done HLE Flooring was fantastic. There's no question that Khody knows his stuff and quality work is his top priority. We are beyond thrilled with the entire process and the final product. Khody was a pleasure to work with. Khody installed new pre-finished hardwood floors on the main floor and second level of our house, and capped the stairs. We were blown away by his commitment to ensuring the new hardwood floors were perfect - no easy job in a crooked and slanted 100 year old house. His attention to detail is unparalleled. He went above and beyond to make sure our floors were as level as possible - including opening up the subfloor to remove a hump in the floor and doing two layers of subfloor in one room to keep it level with the adjoining room - and squeaks in the floor were eliminated. He checked in with us regularly to keep us to speed on his progress and to confirm direction when decisions needed to be made. The job was completed on time, as budgeted, and without any mess. We were also very grateful for Khody's perspective, guidance and expertise - particularly on the type and style of wood, matching the stain and finish of the stairs to the floors, and navigating the sales process with the business that sold and delivered the wood. We knew from the start that the work was in the best hands. We feel very lucky to have found Khody and cannot recommend him highly enough!!

We have worked with Marcello on two occasions and both experiences have been excellent. He is a pleasure to work with and is reassuring, practical and honest – we were particularly appreciative that there was no fear mongering when discussing our options. The first time we called Marcello was about vermiculite that electricians discovered in the walls of our 100 year old house. We spoke on the phone (on a Sunday of a long weekend) and he was very reassuring that it can be removed safely and reminded us that it’s possible that it may not even contain asbestos. The next business day he came to our house and took samples of the vermiculite, as well as the plaster walls (just in case). He sent them to the lab for rush testing and called the next day to confirm they did not contain asbestos. Lab results were also sent to us by email. The second time was only a few weeks later when we came across what we were fairly certain to be asbestos containing vinyl tiles when we pulled up the original hardwood in the house. Fortunately, the tiles were only in one small room. We texted Marcello a photo of the tiles and made arrangements for him to come to the house to take a sample the next day. At first glance he was confident that the tiles needed to be removed but sent a sample for testing to be confirmed. Less than 48 hours later Marcello and his team had removed and disposed of the tiles, taken air samples for lab testing, and confirmed with a lab report and letter of completion that the asbestos was removed and that asbestos concentration in the air is within acceptable levels (as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act). We highly recommend Marcello for all asbestos concerns and removal. His is responsive to calls and texts, and ensures things move very quickly. Most importantly, he recognizes how unsettling it is for homeowners who think they have found asbestos and incredibly reassuring and helpful with keeping it all in perspective. He is pragmatic when outlining the required next steps – he gets the job done without delay and without any mess.
