We are about to complete our 30-day Tarion warranty form of outstanding builder deficiencies on our new home and decided to have a home inspection. Who better to call than Mike Holmes? The inspector who came is actually a subcontractor under the Mike Holmes banner, but we think we was great. Arrived on time, very thorough and explained the problems he saw as he discovered them. The inspection took just over 4 hours (our house is approx 4000 sqft). We just received the 39 page report vis e-mail. It is very detailed, includes colour photos and explanations of the deficiencies found. We plan to submit the report to our builder. Would recommend this company to anyone.

We called Mr. Potlight shortly after gaining possession of our new home and they could come that same day. This is unusual though - they had to cancel their planned outdoor work that day as it was raining. We added potlights to 4 rooms, with new dimmer switches for each set and a new electrical outlet in our basement to accommodate a freezer. Mohamed provided very speedy, professional, and friendly service and they were very careful to keep all the floors clean. No mess, and so much cheaper than what the builder was going to charge! We bought a total of 13 potlights, new switches, dimmers and an electrical outlet. Would recommend them and are considering using them again next year to add more outdoor potlights.

We took possession of our new home and had all the locks changed that same day. Mony was extremely accommodating - we had called the day before and he told us to just call the day of possession and he would be sure to arrive shortly after we got the keys - and he did. Mony was very fast, friendly and convenient. We had a total of 5 locks changed - all to accept the same key which is so convenient. Mony then made us as many duplicate keys as we needed. We don't plan to move anytime soon, but we would definitely recommend Mony to friends and family!

We recently added custom closet organizers to our house - 4 walk-ins and 3 reach-ins. We added banks of drawers, shelves, shoe shelves, double hangs etc to our closets. This has dramatically increased our storage capacity and organization. Kaylie is an expert in sales and support. She makes wonderful, logical suggestions without ever pushing a product you don't really need. She is an asset to the company. Carol in the showroom is also a wonderful - friendly and keeps in touch to let you know then the installer is arriving. The installers are very quiet, bordering on unfriendly, but they do a wonderful job - even if we did have to vacuum everything and wipe down all the dusty surfaces. We believe the investment we made was money well spent - adding substantial value to our home. The organizers are amazing. Thanks!

Company Response

Thanks so much for your review Kay!

Our goal is always to make the customer happy without breaking the budget. It was a pleasure doing business with you!

The installers are supposed to do a light clean-up after themselves. We apologize for this and will be addressing the issue. Thanks for letting us know.

We recently took possession of our new home. The kitchen and bathroom cabinetry was subcontracted to Oakdale Kitchens. We put in a lot of upgrades to the kitchen since these are difficult to do later. We visited Oakdale's showroom so we could see some different options - the showroom is very small. They told us that they mostly work for builders. Not a lot to see. We asked for a few features our last kitchen had (Barzotti) and they said they could not even do that - no knowledge or expertise. We were asking for pull out spice cabinets. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff. How about slow close cabinet doors? Sorry. The work that has been done is definitely builder quality - that's not a compliment. We paid extra for slow close drawers - most are so sticky that they require force to open and close. The particleboard shelves they installed are full of nicks. The cabinet doors are solid maple, but the cabinetry box is so cheap - the dark laminate barely matches the door faces. The screws holding on the hardware on the pantry doors are not counter set so they are nicking the cabinet box every time you close the door. Oakdale's solution - they ripped off small bits of plastic bumper - why cut it so it's looks neat - and covered the nicks. Great. If you buy a new house and the kitchen is by Oakdale, you're stuck. If you are renovating, steer clear of this mediocre company. There are many other quality cabinet makers out there - not this bargain factory that just pumps out the kitchens for builders.
