Paul and David from CanaDuct did a superb job on our ducts. A previous cleaning by another company was less than satisfactory, and I did my research to find a company which would do a thorough cleaning. As other reviews on HomeStars state, Paul and David arrive on time, do a complete cleaning, explain all procedures clearly and offer extra services, such as cleaning the AC coils and dryer vent, without pressure. One nice touch is that they show you images on an ipad of what they are seeing inside the ductwork. There were no surprises at billing time. These two gentlemen also took the time to do the job correctly, which was about an hour and a half. The equipment they used was high powered. The air feels very clean! I will recommend this company to others, and have in fact already recommended CanaDuct to my next door neighbour who took their card and asked me how they did. Cleaning the ducts was $250, which was good, given that Direct Energy quoted me $400. I also chose to go for extras, such as dryer cleaning, which brought the cost up. To boot, Paul and David are true professionals and very kind and considerate. I will definitely use their services again

Look no further than The Appliance Guy! Joe responded promptly to my call, and was able to fit me in on his route for the day in under an hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the broken parts with superior, more up-to-date parts. He also gave me tips on how to use the washer's self-leveling feature, of which I had been unaware. I appreciated that he was able to advise me that this machine, while not new, is worth repairing as it is well made. He had the unit up and running in great time. Would readily recommend his services!

Master Metal Men is the first and last quote you'll need for eavestroughs! Italo Mascoso of Master Metal Men is a true pro and a very nice gent. He came out and provided a clear, comprehensive, and very reasonable quote. His quote was about half the amount quoted by another company, and included much more in the way of the services involved and the products to be installed. When I asked him if I could look at his colour chips again a few days after he came to do the quote, he very graciously offered to come out and drop these off. He was also able to accommodate me in terms of scheduling; he was able to work around particular days which would and would not work on my end. The work began promptly the day he said it would. The crew that came were very nice and polite, and they all took obvious pride in their workmanship. Their attention to detail was thorough. In particular, their ability to solve dilemmas posed by individual structures stands out in my mind as one of their greatest strengths. For example, I have a porch on the back of the house that was built in such a way that the eavestrough could not go over it along the back of the house. As a result, every other company I consulted suggested they would have to run a downspout from the house across the air and down the garage. When I told them that that would be an eyesore that would be a dealbreaker for me, they said that it was really the only option. After hearing the same opinion so many times, I grew resigned to the notion. But Italo never seemed daunted by this, and never even suggested it would be necessary. Instead, he and his crew came up with an elegant, simple solution which seems obvious to me now that I see it, but no one else even considered. He ran a downspout on an angle along the edge of the back porch in such a way that he had it drain into the porch's eavestrough. Brilliant! And aesthetically, the appearance of the back of the house,, as a result, more than exceeded my expections; it surpassed them. Also, my leaning garage posed its own problems, but they got the troughs working wonderfully! Master Metal Men works with an electrician, and, as such, a potlight was readily installed the same day as the rest of the work was done. it looks great! Little extras, like a seam along the front fascia, are a visual delight. Cleanup, also, was scrupulous. I would recommend this company to anyone!

I contacted John for an estimate on filling a gap where an old oil pipe used to come into the house, as well as some work on repairing a crack running down through the brickwork. John told me that it was probably something I could actually do myself. He gave me a very thorough description of all steps involved and recommended the necessary tools and materials. In all, he spent about 15 minutes teaching, guiding and encouraging... at no profit to himself whatsoever! I was very impressed with his honesty and his philosophy, that when you do good, it comes back to you. Kudos, John! I will definitely be giving you a call about some more serious work involving leaks under the front steps into the cold cellar when the budget allows!

Mega City Waterproofing did really good work along two walls of my home. Slav came out and gave a quote that was substantially less than what other companies quoted me. He also recommended a superior product (Blueskin rather than tar), and charged me only the price of the materials to upgrade. Then Slav and Tom came out exactly when they said they would. They were clean, polite, efficient and left the worksite in great shape every day. They completed the whole job in just under three days. Throughout, I had complete confidence in their knowledge and skills. Slav also noticed that I needed some concrete taken up at the back of the house, and offered to break it up and haul it away just for his cost at the dump. What a lovely thing to do! These guys are pros, and I have no hesitation recommending them to others. Granted, the work just got done, so I can't give you a sense of how the work holds over time. Well, the weatherman says there are four days of rain coming up, so we'll see!
