I called them to arrange for someone to view the job and then give me a rough quote. The guy that got back to me said that he would visit sometime during the following weekend. The whole story is that no estimator ever did show up or call. This was disappointing, a waste of time, and an additional delay to the process of finding a siding contractor.

I arranged for Best Waterworks to install a water treatment system for well water, involving chlorination and carbon bed absortion. They also installed a reverse osmosis unit in the laundry room, treating a slipstream for use as potable water. There were a few problems with the installation. They did not come on the day that they said they would, costing me 8 hours of vacation from work. When they did do the install, they found that the bladder of the existing pressure tank had failed and the whole tank needed to be replaced. (They did an excellent job of making this happen on that same day.) But the original waterlogged pressure tank was too heavy for them to remove at that time. They said they would return, drill a hole, install tubing and drain the tank that way. After which, they would remove it. Because of the pressure tank problems, they did not have time to install the RO unit at the same time as the rest of the system. They kept scheduling their return for the RO but not actually showing up to do it. It took more than 2 weeks before it was installed. As soon as the RO system was finally installed, they began asking for payment for the entire package. I suggested that they should remove the pressure tank, as agreed upon, first, or wait for complete payment until such time as it was removed. They told me that they would be too busy to remove it for some months, as they had many customers with real problems that took priority. They said that they would accept full payment or take me to court or repossess the pressure tank. Dealing with them became extremely unpleasant - they were not nearly so affable about the prospect of waiting for their money, as they were about making me wait for the pressure tank removal. I decided to pay them the full amount rather than have to have any further dealings with them. But I decided to tell the story for any educational benefit it might have for others.
