Mohsen (salseman) came when we called, always returned calls and the door was installed (by what appeared to be a subcontractor). Door was of good quality, service and installation were top notch. Was a bit nervous, as the company has very little online presence, but the price couldn't be beat, and the service was excellent.

Thank you David. It was our pleasure.

The quality of work and attention to detail was amazing. Michelle, their designer, was extremely adaptable to our vision, and the communication and service level were exceptional. The installer took great pride in his work, and ensured that we were completely happy with all of his work as well as the cabinets themselves.

I contacted this company for a quote and they were here very quick and offered a great price and explained all the details. On the day of the install, they showed up, and worked hard throughout the day. They made sure that everything was extremely clean at the end, and completed a very professional job, also explaining the process and the products. Very impressed with them.

I was originally impressed by the quality reviews and communication of Newridge. Therefore we went ahead with them as the provider to refinish and stain about 300 sq ft and about 12 steps. It turns out that Newridge sub-contracts out their work. Initially Gabor assessed the job, and we were impressed with the references and the professionalism. In addition his equipment is the dustless sanding quality. However due to our delays in scheduling, Gabor wasn’t available, and Keen came in to complete the job. As we live in a side-split house, and this was one of the main area’s being refinished, we were aware that we wouldn’t be able to be in the house during this process, therefore we arraigned for them to start on a Friday, with us returning on Tuesday afternoon (everyone had assured me that 4-5 days was more than enough to complete the job). At no point during this renovation did we receive any message about any delays, and my voicemails and text messages to Keen went unanswered. Therefore it came as a surprise and major disappointment that when we returned on Tuesday afternoon (with our young kids), not only was the job not completed (no urethane even started) but that the final coat of stain was still wet. They did return the following day to put down 1 coat of urethane, however the quality of the workmanship was extremely poor with the floor and railings having a rougher finish than when they started and the floors appearing very streaky. They returned again 2 days later to put down another coat of urethane (noted that they did not buff between coats as was noted on the original quote). This made the job acceptable looking, however still not great. Some of the deficiencies we have noticed (some of which were pointed out prior to them completing the job); not all of the nail holes where the previous carpet tack strips were filled, when staining the railing they also splashed stain on the painted walls (so we will now need to repaint some walls), there are drops of stain on the completed flooring at the bottom of the stairs (this is the floor that was already in place, and that they were not refinishing), the handrails are still fairly rough, they scratched the finished floor with their equipment (later came in to buff that scratch out), and some of the underside of the stairs (bullnose) were not stained (which isn’t visible from someone standing). I will say that any issue I did have, and escalated to Scott, he was very quick to respond, and tried to be helpful. However many of these issues it was too late to do anything about. So overall, this process took significantly longer than was expected. Which was my primary issue, as I have young kids, and therefore was trying to avoid bringing them back into a house that was filled with either dust or significant vapors from the stain/urethane. Even when it was completed, the quality is average and is not what one would expect for the price or from a company with this type of reputation.

Hi David,
We appreciate your feedback. I am disappointed that we could not meet your expectations and although I cannot comment specifically on all the specific details this was discussed with Keen from the beginning and I just had a lengthy conversation about your recent comments you shared publicly so he is aware. Although, this does surprise me quite a bit as 2 very recent clients said that "Keen and his crew were by far the most professional and best to work with compared to all the other contractors during all our renos" and the other said "I feel so at ease with Keen and his crew that I can leave the a lone in my house knowing the job will get done right". We have never had one complaint about Keens workmanship prior to or after this project. Nonetheless the expectations were not meant in this one instance and I will acknowledged this from your review. There is one thing I would appreciate you removing from your review as this absolutely not true (not your fault as there is probably a misunderstanding). NewRidge Refinishing Group does NOT Sub-Contract work. Every crew that we work is part of the NewRidge family and has to have very high standards for customer service and quality of workmanship. How we operate may be unique in the industry but we are all part of the NewRidge Team. We take every client and job seriously and would not risk our reputation on an unproven contractor on ANY project.
Sincerely,
Scott

I hired this company to assist with my weeds, after 1 year of service, I came to the realization that what they offered was no better, and no worse than if I had just taken care of it myself for a fraction of the cost. As I have always dealt with seasonally companies who do not employee (IMO) questionable ethical practices of continuous billing, I was not aware of their practice to come out the following year (despite their "best attempts" of sending me junk mail). The second that I realized they were continuing to come back the following year, I contacted their office to rectify the mistake. Instead of addressing my issues, they tried to continue to sell their product, and when pressed, I was told on two different occasions that my "bill wold be taken care of". When I continued to receive invoices for this 1 spring visit, they backtracked on what "taken care of" actually meant, and only offered me a credit of 50% when I used them again. I will say, that their technicians were always friendly and respectful when they were here, however as stated above, I saw no improvement in my lawn while using this company, and would rather save the hundreds of dollars and do it myself. If calling in for a complaint or an issue, expect a lot of double talk, and never getting a firm answer.

Company Response

Hi David, I'm sorry you had a negative experience with our company. We strive to be clear from the very beginning about the terms of our service. The vast majority of our customers understand that lawns are living breathing life forms that require continuous care in order to grow healthy and improve, especially with organic & natural products that we offer.
I did send you the following response on July 6th, which resolved the complaint positively and to the satisfaction of the Better Business Bureau, however instead of replying to me, I see you chose to post a negative review on this site instead.

"I appreciate you bringing your concerns to my attention.
I have looked into your account to make sure we did not drop the ball. I doing so, I confirmed that every effort was made on our end to make sure you were well informed of our business procedures and our offer of services to you including our terms and conditions.

These include:
- When you initially contacted us you agreed to the terms of our service when you requested a quote (your online request is attached and the excerpt from your online submittal is included below)
By pressing Submit, I hereby confirm that I am the rightful owner of the property listed above and I agree to the Terms of Lawn & Tree Care Services.
- A confirmation letter outlining our agreement with you and what we were offering, your price and the terms of our service, including in bold “service continues from season to season, for any change in service, please call our office”
- Each of your 7 invoices received last year that outlined what was done and special instructions for you including in bold “service continues from season to season, for any change in service, please call our office”
- 2 first class letters addressed to you on 11/08/10 and 03/11/11 reminding you and highlighting that we will be out in April to resume service. Even if you decided not to open the envelope, the envelope has printed on the outside on large print “service continues from season to season, for any change in service, please call our office”
- We also called ahead the day before service to inform you we were coming and someone at your residence answered that call (04/12/2011 03:35 PM)
In total, 12 contact points were made to ensure you were aware of our service offering and terms. We do not wish to service customer s who elect to make other plans, however we do expect that you will cancel your service at any time prior to service resuming each spring or before your next visit. These terms are also explained on our website where
Our service continues each year because plants require ongoing care from year to year. Nutrition needs and pest management don’t allow for time off or a break.
At no time were we ever asked, offer or agree to offer a one year only contract. We believe we went above and beyond to make sure you were well informed, furthermore we never received and additional communication from you.
However, in good faith, I am willing to offer you a credit on your account for half of your invoice against any future program if you decide to resume service in the future. I hope this helps."

In addition, for any customer that requests to not have continuous service, we accommodate and honour that request quite willingly.
