We needed to remove our existing railings prior to overlaying our front porch and then reinstall them. Jesse helped us when no one else could or would, and at a reasonable price. He's honest, personable, kind and knows everything there is to know about railings. We recommend him very highly.

We hired Rolando to overlay our front porch and remove and reinstall a side step. He was excellent and professional from start to finish. Before we hired him, he answered multiple emails/phone calls and did two site visits to answer questions and allay all of the concerns that we had. He was patient and kind when we had problems arranging for our railings to be removed prior to the repair. And most importantly, of course, his work is excellent. He is a true concrete specialist with great attention to detail. Unlike many other contractors, he takes pride in his work. We highly recommend him and his team.

This is a follow-up post. See original post below. Three years have passed and our porch is crumbling all over. No word from this company about rectifying the problem. They've ghosted us. We wasted thousands of dollars and untold hours. Warning to all others considering hiring Amplify. ________________________________________________________________ In October 2018, I hired Amplify to reconstruct our crumbling front porch. Gam, our project manager, arranged for a contractor to form, pour and parge new concrete landings and steps. The workmanship was poor. A number of treads weren't level or sloped correctly, the edges of the landings weren't straight and the finish was rough and, frankly, sloppy. Added to this, the driveway and interlocking were damaged by the work. I complained to Gam and after a long delay, the contractor returned to discuss how to fix the problems. However, he ended up quitting the job. Because it was by then too late in the season to do the work, I arranged with Gam to have the porch resurfaced and cleanup completed in the spring of 2019. After the first winter, the porch was discoloured and had spalled badly. I reconnected with Gam in the spring of 2019 and he arranged to have a mason resurface the porch and clean the interlocking. I was still disappointed by the finish, especially after the sealer had been applied. Also, the interlocking was tarnished after acid washing and the driveway was never repaired. However, the structure of the steps had been improved (edges were sharper and no ponding) so I decided to live with the result. However, this year, the porch once again did not survive the winter intact. There was more spalling and cracks in multiple places. I got in touch once again--this time with Gevoni--to get the porch repaired. I was told that the form would be improved and that the porch would finally be given a proper finish. Nearly three months later, a contractor has attended once to correct the form and patch cracks. Many promises (and excuses) have been made but the spalled surface and ugly finish remains. Our experience with Amplify has been horrible. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company at all costs.

We hired Israel to install 8 interior doors and 1 sliding door for a closet. He also installed door casings and baseboards throughout our main floor. He sourced the doors and found higher quality ones than the Home Depot ones we would have otherwise used. Israel's work was very good. He is honest, reliable and willing to do that little bit extra to make his customers happy. He also completed the work at a very reasonable price. We will definitely recommend him to others.

We are very pleased with the quartz countertops we purchased from Toronto Granite. Bob was very accommodating about borrowing samples. There were lots of slabs to view in the showroom as well. We got excellent and clear information from Bob in the form of a diagram to make decisions about the location of seams, price differences between products, etc. There were some bumps on the day of install (likely due to a templating error around our stove). But Saad, the installer, and Bob worked together to ensure the final result looks great. The seams are 1/16" as promised and are quite inconspicuous. The price for our LG Viatera countertops was also very competitive. We'd certainly go with Toronto Granite again and will recommend them to others.

We chose Alliance because of the excellent reviews on Homestars and were not disappointed. Timea helped us pick a high quality vinyl plank flooring product and was always responsive to our questions and concerns--in person and on the phone. After purchasing the flooring (which we intended to install ourselves), we discovered an issue with the plywood subfloor. It was very uneven. Our general contractor made it much worse by incorrectly applying concrete self-levelling compound and leaving us with a concrete mound in the centre of our living space! We were distraught. I got in touch with Alliance again. Lehel paid us a visit and, after assessing the floor, sent someone to fix the problem. He removed all of the concrete (quickly and with little mess) and sanded the plywood subfloor until it was much closer to being flat. Given that we were unable to get it perfectly flat, and that this would mean a more challenging installation, we decided to hire installers recommended by Lehel. They did a fantastic job. Their cuts were incredibly precise, including around our kitchen island which was installed prior to the floor (see pics). And all of the work (subfloor prep + install) was done at a very reasonable price. We'd highly recommend Alliance, especially because of the fantastic service all around. They are honest, straightforward and very knowledgeable about flooring. They made a stressful situation much easier for us.

Jason and his team (headed by David) were a pleasure to work with. We hired them to remove three layers of flooring from our kitchen prior to a renovation (the asbestos was sandwiched in the middle of the layers). Their price was very competitive. They were honest and straightforward (unlike other asbestos abatement companies we contacted). Communication was excellent. They were punctual and efficient. And most importantly, they did a great job of containing and disposing of the asbestos and left us a spotless subfloor at the end (see pics). Even our kitchen contractor commented on how immaculate it was! We highly recommend them.

Leuri is everything you'd want in a contractor but find so rarely: honest, personable, responsive, organized, punctual, efficient and, most importantly, a master of his craft. We sent him our engineer's drawings for a quotation and he quickly sent one that detailed the work and at a competitive price. Once we hired him, he contacted our engineer and actually improved on his plan of work! This both reduced our cost and made it possible to install a flush rather than a drop beam. The result is a great canvas for our kitchen contractor (see pics). We're so happy that we hired Leuri and RTP for our project and hope to be able to do so again one day. We highly recommend him.

He has been punctual and easy to reach/responsive. He was patient and detailed in answering our questions, on site and on the phone. Most importantly, he provided us detailed and accurate drawings, as promised, within a week of his visit (and in them he was able to help us avoid an ugly post despite the tricky location and length of our load-bearing wall). We haven't yet hired a contractor to complete the work but Mohammad has already indicated he is happy to work with our contractors/the city wherever his assistance is needed. We would not hesitate to recommend Mohammad to others!

Mike contacted me after putting in a service request through Homestars. He was prompt, professional and quick to respond to queries via text. Plus, his prices were VERY competitive. We had some delays due to the company we hired to rebuild our porch. He was patient and even recommended a number of other people to do the job. Kenny and the installation crew were also great. Very happy with the result! We will definitely be recommending them to our friends and neighbours!
