    driveway & frontsteps interlocking

I have to say In-home-services Interlocking is the worst contactors I have even seen. They have signs everywhere, attracting people with their low price. Yes, their so-called-promotion price sounds a good deal, but once you sign a contract with them, then your nightmare starts. They have terrible customer service, the boss Dave treats customers extremely badly. They do their work very quickly, yes, it sounds good, right? They do it so fast, for my two-car garage and front steps, they only assigned 8 hours for the work and when it was getting dark, they withdrew all stuf and left frontsteps unfinished. They claimed the work was done and asked for the balanced payment. I was so pissed off and argued with the boss Dave. Finally he agreed to keep one guy to finish the frontsteps. The frontstep was eventually finished but they made lots of damages on my garden, and left tons of junks on the road. This company is definitely a scam. Before you decide to hire a contractor, you should do your own research first, do not trust the references they provided. A while ago, I met someone in my daughter’s dancing school and talked about interlocking contractor, she said she hired In-home-services a year ago, and the driveway seemed getting move around and had bumps already. Although they claimed two years warranty, they never came back to fix them. I am starting to worry about mine…

    interlocking

We did have a good idea of what we are getting into with in-home services based on neighbours reviews, but at the end they did a really great job, and we are very pleased with an end result. I would recommend them to others, with a warning to keep an eye on certain things, but for the money they are the best deal out there.

    Interlocking

I had a large interlocking project done. To be brief, and believe me, this is very BRIEF !!.... - Crew did not show up on start date, I called daily, it took 5 days to hear back from someone, no appology. - Crew is very messy and do not clean up after themselves. - Contract stipulated removal of all debris, don't count on it! - Contract stipulated polymeric sand, they began using regular sand until I had to 'remind' them what was supposed to be used. - Damage to property by crew was not repaired. - HUGE amout of various debris was not removed. - Tools of mine that they 'borrowed', are now gone. - I had to pay more money to deal with these issues myself that they said they "would take care of", and clearly didn't. - I was nothing but very nice to the crew at all times, hoping it would help me in not getting screwed over, it obviously didn't make a difference. - Dave and Doug are impossible to get a hold of once they are paid. - If they say they will return after being paid, dont count on it! - I had to call the city to contact them for the "mess" they left on city property at the front of my house and for not taking bundles of extra stone they said they were "coming back for". *** You are better off paying the extra grand or two, or three, and go with the next contractor !!

    Walkway Interlocking

I asked this guy by the name of Doug to give me an estimate. I went through another 10 interlocking service companies before I gave Doug the go ahead to prepare the contract. I thought he knew what he was talking about and his words sounded satisfactory. Made the initial payment the day I signed the contract and haven't heard from him since then. It's day 38 and the work was suppose to start three days ago. I tried calling the number on the contract but to no avail since the number belongs to an outsourced company. The representative on the other line has told me that I will get a call back but I never do. I am hoping that I don't suffer the safe fate as the rest of the people who had problems with In Home Services. And now there isn't even enough time for me to contact another company to start the work immediately. I don't think I'll be recommending the company to anyone unless the work is done properly. I wouldn't be surprised if the people who provided their names as references are In Home Services' employees!!!

    Interlocking front yard and steps

Had a rep attend my residents about 3 weeks ago. Was told work would start the following week, now 3 weeks old. Owner, Dave [last name removed-- Ed] is very difficult to talk to. Keeps making excuses and keeps saying we'll start next week. Fact is, I don't think they'll ever start at this point and they're running away with my deposit! Stay away from this rip off! Spread the word about In Home Services and hopefully we can stop these ******* guys from ripping off others. Thanks.

    Interlocking Stone patio and walkway

I used this company for interlocking patio and walkway, but in the end wished I hadn't. Originally, I was told the job would be done when I asked for it to be started. 2 months later, they finally got around to doing it, in the fall so never got to use it till the following year. The kids he had working were rather sloppy and never did the patio steps properly. I was promised it would be redone in the following spring, but never did it till the late fall of that year. Then he left all the debris in the driveway in front of the garage and never cleaned up. Could not use garage until I had to pay someone else to remove it. Would not suggest using this company, also very tardy in returning calls.....job does look good but a lot of headaches and heartaches in dealing with the owner. Stay clear!!!

    Interlock driveway and patio

I too hired these guys last fall, unfortunately before doing a lot of research. A friend used one of their sister companies (I believe they are all 'loc' titles etc.) with good results, so based on that alone I used them. I paid about $10/sq.ft which is OK but I had the work done in the fall which is usually cheaper. They came later than they promised but they did complete the job. The end result though has left me with very dissatisfied - many chipped bricks, poor foundation work (sinking bricks) areas that should have had the metal retaining strips that don't, regular sand between the joints instead of the proper stuff which I was promised, very messy and careless workers (damaged my neighbours lawn and driveway which I have had to pay to repair to maintain good relations. Repeated calls to their answering service (they obviously screen their calls as you always get an operator - never someone from the actual company) continue to go unanswered. My main issue now is trying to get them to come back and regrade as the driveway has sunk quite a bit. I'm not holding my breath though and I'm sure I will end up having to pay someone else to fix this. If I paid about 30% less it would be a tolerable job, but for the amount I did pay, I feel that I got ripped off. I would gladly pay more to have it done properly without all the headaches. PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND LOOK FOR A BETTER REVIEWED COMPANY THAN THESE GUYS THAT OBVIOUSLY TAKE NO PRIDE IN THEIR WORK. Now that I fould this website, I will only go with trusted, reviewed businesses.

    patio renovation

I meet the owner of In Home Services at the end of April. I asked if he could do the job before June 1st, becuase we were going to have a birthday party outside- he said yes of course. He never returned our phone calls and until days before the party did we get a hold of him, and he told us he could not do the work before the date promised. We accepted that. It took another month before he one day showed up with no phone call and started excavating. He asked for some money and was not back for another week. Our back yard and front patio were muddy and ugly for one week. Then he shows up and in about 10 hours get the job done. He did a half fast job, did not replace the grass the he ruined (he said he would), had stones that we moving if you stepped on them, and gave us stones that we did not order (much cheaper stones of course). He left spray painted stones on my patio. This was over a month ago and because my husband paid him the monay he has not been back to fix all the things that need to be fixed. I would not recommend this company to anybody. Another thing is that he has no respect for your house. Garbage was always left on the property and the grass was ruined. He also liked to make excuses for eveything.....very frustrated customer.

    Interlock Patio and sidewalk

I was impressed how much the owner person knew about interlocking, drainage, etc. He met all my needs as to what I wanted, gave suggestions and made me feel comfortable. Once he returned to accept deposit, he wrote up a contract and it was done. I waited for almost 2 months to get him to do my patio and he gave me scheduling reasons, new staff as old staff stole from him and did jobs on the side as well and he mentioned a death in the family as another excuse. Basically, played my sympathy. When they came it was rushed and he did not do much but rather scream at his rather new and inexperienced staff. He later told me he fired 3 of his crew. I have many issues with the job and still uncertain if it will be done as promised. Incorrect grading, unleveled, chipped bricks, messy and lack of respect for your home. I would never make this mistake again. To those that sign a contract, make sure he writes step-by-step what is to be done, when it will be done and make him explain how the money will be paid to him including penalties. Lastly, ask for his latest jobs addresses. Maintain 10% to ensure any deficiencies are corrected before you pay the rest.
