We went with Oborne to completely gut and then rebuild our new kitchen. We made structural changes, removing the wall between the dining room and ktichen. John was great. He directed us to companies he had relationships with to choose our cabinets and countertops. He then coordinated the work with them. However, he was also totally open to us using our own person for our flooring. His foreman is a jack of all trades which was very useful. We cannot say enough great things about John Oborne.

We had Oborne Contracting do a kitchen renovation and were satisfied with the work he did for us. We were pleased with the cabinets he installed and were also pleased that the area was kept neat and clean throughout the project. John, himself, is a very personable guy.

We hired John and his crew for the second time and again we are thrilled! They came in on time even with all our changes and additions. The site was left clean and John was always available to answer any questions we had. He was helpful in providing options to keep us on target with our budget. We will never hire any other contractor, Let's hope he never retires!

What started as just a kitchen and bath reno snowballed into a full house reno. From the start John was extremely detailed with the first quote and responded quickly to our sometimes "too detailed" requests! All the guys that were on site were friendly and knowledgeable - they even sent us a baby gift! We had a baby mid-renovation...stressful, but they did everything to make things smooth. It took a while to finish, but it was well worth it. We love our home and look forward to working with Oborne Contracting again.

John was very professional. Quality of workmanship was excellent. The crew he hired was courteous and neat. The execution of the job was better than what I expected. I would definitely hire them again. They are very nice to deal with. All in all I'm very happy with the experience.

He had very good trades. He was a good project manager. Quality of the work was excellent. I was the site engineer (as well as the client), responsible for the structural design and drawings so had a lot of interaction with John and the trades. However, we felt John would be happier without the client around him. He is very trustworthy and has high standards. We got to like John and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. We would recommend him to our friends.

They ripped up the deck and set it up for the next gentleman. He helped with the preparation and the design of the deck. He was great. They were on time. They were very helpful in suggesting the way the deck had to be done. They were great!

When we purchased our house, it was billed as having a 'magical back garden'. It was actually a parking space with rotting raised planters. O'Borne Contracting ripped it all out and built a new fence, raised wooden planters, and a beautiful bike shed. We joke that the bike shed is more sturdy than our house since it's so solid. There was great attention to detail with lots of little suggestions that we hadn't thought of. Now we have the 'magical back garden' that was advertised when we moved in. Thank you!

I highly recommend John Oborne and his team. Their professionalism, quality of repair and the clean-up they did each night was exceptional. They followed up to make sure all was well during the project and after the project. They clearly outlined the project to us and nothing got inflated as we progressed. Excellent!

We hired a design firm to design our 15 years old home. We wanted to turn it into a very modern house. We hired the first general contractor based on recommendation. They worked on the house for 12 weeks (originally planned for 6 weeks) before we moved into our dream home. They didn't/couldn't finish the job, took our money & shutted down the contacting company. We had to move into our house even though there was holes in the walls and floor, exposed flooring and electrical. We quickly found a second general contractor to finish the work and again a great disappointment. We waited for another 2 months before we found John and his team at Oborne Contracting through a very close friend. John and his team had just finish remodeling our friends' basement. We saw the work but we were still a bit unsure about his company because we went through two contactors and 6 months of hell by then and lots of broken promises. John's team came in, they were very polite, very clean, very quick and quiet. John suggested that we do one room at a time, we picked the family room/kitchen. The team sealed the area from the rest of the house very professionally, quickly plastered the ceiling (it was a mess, very uneven, bumps everywhere from mistake made by previous contractors and lighting guys), the walls and corners (because our design was clean with no moulding so straight corner was a huge issue). The team also replaced the trims done by previous contractors and then painted the entire area. John and his team reviewed the area with us and we pointed out a few things that we thought could be better, John didn't ask any question or complaint about cost like other contractors, they took full responsibility and quickly fixed those small spots. We were so impressed with their work and their attitude that we asked them to just take on the rest of the house while we were on vacation. WE CAME BACK TO OUR DREAM HOME! The ceiling is smooth like silk, the corners were straight, the trims were done perfectly, the lighting were totally installed and working. Our house were cleaned. It was finally done after 8 months of mess...I had tears in my eyes when I walked in with my husband and two very young children. It is HOME finally. John and his team are reliable, honourable, they follow the job through (came back to touch up in many occasions, no questions asked) and most of all, they don't give empty promises. We would be more than happy to recommend Oborne Contracting to anyone we know.
