I previously had another company in to clean my chimney. I have a wood stove and immediately the fellow said he couldn't clean it, went on to say that it was in code violation, I need a liner a cleanout box, this without going on top of the roof. I called A1 quality chimney (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A1 MECHANICAL CHIMNEY SERVICE!) referred to me by a colleague at work who has used them for 25 years. Rick came today and did a detailed inspection, used several different rods from the exterior of the chimney and also inside. He had no problem cleaning it out, also confirmed my chimney is in great shape no need at this time to spend extra money for nothing. He was very patient answering all my questions in regards to the fear that TOP HAT put forth. Not a doubt in my mind now that my chimney is safe. I will use them every year to clean my chimney.

My chimney looked like it was never cleaned before, even though it was converted to a gas burning. I've always liked wood burning fireplace, so after the gas valve broke down, I decided this was the best time to convert it. Also, the flue was either eroded or completely missing, such that cold air billowed in each winter and made our family room miserably cold. I didn't want to get a chimney balloon, so decided to get a retractable chimney cap. I called around a bunch of chimney places and not many could do all 3 items I wanted (cleaning, converting and cap). A-1 was one that could and quoted a decent price for it. The cleaning was done first and was done very quickly and neatly. The conversion was next and was also neat (gas line removed). Finally the cap was done last. The hook to release the cap is tucked away on the side and works well. Great job, would recommend these guys again.

Bob asked me to write this review and I was happy to. They have been maintaining my chimney for years. They are always on time and take the time to ensure that no dirt gets into my home. They rebuilt my chimney a couple of years ago and did a perfect job.

They took a lot of care making sure the chimney was really clean and then helped my solve the chimney smoking problem at no extra charge. We have used them for years.

This company is the best in toronto. Take it from me, a homeowner in Etobicoke for nearly 25 years, I've used variuos companies to clean and service my chimney or the years. But A-1 Quality is the only one that has been around for a long time... I am very satisfied with the cleaning. The men who came to my house are the same guys from nearly 10 years ago.... talk about stability. Nothing by praise for this company
