    sewer excavation

Contract called for soil but company used a mixture of bricks, sand and drywall fragmants to backfill job. Also, skipped important part of job though it was all spelled out in the contract, preferring to cut a big corner rather than do the job right. Luckily I was onsite and able to notice. Downright dishonest. Thumbs down.

    drain problem

Emily in Riverdale Clear roots in basement Our basement drain was overflowing whenever we did laundry. I called Absolute for a free estimate on the problem. Andrew was able to come that day and tried to assess the problem without using the camera, which we ended up doing anyway. Once we saw the roots on the camera, he was able to mobilize a crew within the same week. Approx. 10 ft worth of ceramic pipe had to be removed due to the growth of roots within, which was blocking 40-80% of the pipe diameter. The guys that came took a number of measures to minimize disruption to our house, incl. laying a drop cloth from the front door to the basement, hanging plastic sheeting around their workspace in the basement to prevent dust from falling on the surroundings, and keeping the front door closed as much as possible as they came in and out with their equipment. During the job it seemed like there were piles of dirt everywhere, but when it was done all the dirt was gone and the only area that was exposed was the path where the pipe had been removed and new cement had been laid. They had quoted 3 days worth of work, but finished in 2. Jos walked us through all the paperwork to get our rebate and answered all of our questions. An overall pleasant experience, considering the work that needed to be done.

    plumbing

I had Estimates from 3 companies early in 2010 to have the water line coming in to the house upgraded on my property and because of sickness in my family everything was put on hold for 6 months. I called in late november and they stayed by the estimate, were prompt and completely business like in their dealings with me. the job was done promptly and when they said it would be done. On the day they arrived I had a question that the crew could not answer, they called Andrew(the owner of the company) he came over within an hour and dealt with my question to my complete satisfaction. I have had a lot of work done in this house in 30 years and they were as good as any of the contractors I have ever used.

    drain repair

When Igor first arrived, he reasured me that he would do everything he could to resolve me drain problem. And that he did. He went over and beyond the call of duty to try and resolve the issue. When Igor realized that there was a problem that he couldn't repair he sugguested the next course of action. The crew that came to excavate and correct the drain problem were wonderful always kept me informed as to what they were doing.(I felt sorry for them and made them coffee because that day it was cold and it rained all day.) John and Nic both answered any questions I had the day of excavation, and Nic went out in the rain and looked at my downspots and gave me valuable suggestions as to how to disconnect them properly. I would recomend drainworks again and will call again in the future if and when there is a plumbing or drain problem. Thank you for resolving my drain problem with compation, respect and kindness.

Install Backvalve, sump pump, and washing machine drain

We hired Absolute after a basement flood (city line sewer back-up) to install a back valve, sump pump, and new drain for our washing machine plumbing. The workers arrived on time and worked quickly to get the job done. We had the city out to inspect the work, and it was not approved; the sump pump was in the wrong place to function correctly in the case of excess water and meant that sewage would be pumped onto our front lawn in the event that the back valve closed. Absolute was good about removing the sump pump, covering up all the holes in the basement floor and providing an adjusted fee for the work that was acceptable (back valve and laundry drain). In the end it all worked out well, but it was confusing that they installed the sump pump that way in the first place. Customer service was good about making in right and sending out a receipt with all the info needed for the city rebate.

    Clogged drain

Absolute Plumbing was hired to clear a clogged drain. Its "repair" lasted for 5 days and when I called to complain, I was told that it was too bad that the repair only lasted a few days. The Company wanted to send out a plumber again to repeat the service call and charge me again! I asked to speak to the owner of the company, and was told that the owner would not return my phone call. The repair person left a mess for me to clean up; he did not have any drop clothes and I had to lend him a bucket so that he could perform the "repair". It's quite clear that this company lacks any basic customer service and its level of professionalism is nonexistant. Avoid hiring this company because it does not stand behind its work.

The plumbing job they did was excellent. I've already referred them to many people. They were always friendly and attentive and made sure my needs were met. I really appreciate all their great attention to detail.

    sewer back up in basement

We had a sewer back up and we called Absolute for after hours service to unblock the basement sewer. The plumber, Victor arrived, proceeded to walk through house with boots on full of snow and salt. Without investigating, Victor advised that we need to excavate because it was either roots or a collapsed pipe. He went and got the snake to see if there was blockage and dragged the equipment up the stairs when it flipped off the wheels. He suggested that he could not move the snake through the piping as it was blocked outside the house and, again advised a dig was required and that he could bring in people the next day for a fee of $2400. We declined as it felt like a sales pitch (that was the only solution he had). We asked questions and he would say he is professional, he knows and we need to take care of it. If I suggested something it was a waste of time and at one point walked away from me while I was talking. On the Monday, we contacted a plumber who had previously cleared this drain and he once again cleared the drain in about 10 – 15 minutes with a plunger. I called Absolute and was almost hung up on by a rude office staff person when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor to provide feedback. When I finally spoke, he told me a manager would be in touch and would call my office. Instead we received a voice message on our home phone from Victor, with what he considered an apology, using the excuse that it was the end of his shift and if there was someone at the house to help with his heavy equipment that there would not have been any issue. At the very least Victor was not professional (boots in house, spit on walkway, was careless with equipment), the office staff was not professional, both were rude. For a blocked pipe we would have paid a lot of money had we decided to do what we were told to by Absolute.

    Plumbing

My plumbing backed-up in the basement. I called Absolute Plumbing and Victor showed up in half an hour. He did a fantastic job. He was very professinal and excellent and what he did. He assured me that the work would be completed in a timely fashion without any problems. I am very impressed with his work ethics and his professionlism. Since having our plumbing fixed by Absolute we haven't had a problem with the drains backing up which is a very nice treat as we had become accustomed to living with for quite some time. I would highly recommed Absolute Draining and Plumbing as they complete high quality work.
