    Termite inspection and advice

    I wish there were more companies like Aetna. Family owned and operated, honest, friendly, helpful. Having purchased a house in a termite-prone area I called Atena to do an inspection. Dick came to my house, did the inspection (no signs of active termites) and told me that, contrary to my expectations, the treatment that was done years ago was likely sufficient and I didn't need to do anything further at the moment. Cost to me: 0$. An added bonus was the lovely conversation with Dick. Highly recommended.

    bugkill maxx

    I spray my living couch & chair every week with this wonderful stuff. But I would like to buy it on my own, therefore where in Ottawa On. or Gatineau PQ, can I purchase it. Thank you.

    It is very important when using over-the-counter products to follow all label directions set out by the seller (manufacturer). All pesticide labels are strictly regulated by our government whether they are for homeowner use or commercial use. Please read the label for BugKill Maxx carefully and apply only according to the label. The label does not state that couches and chairs can be treated with this product. Please call us at your earliest convenience at 416-469-4111 and i can discuss this with you further. I contacted my distributor and they do not sell Bugkill Maxx to any retail stores in Ottawa or Gatineau PQ.

    Termite prevention and treatment

    My wife and I recently purchased a house in Riverdale and over the past few months we have been working with Richard from Aetna to protect our property from the risk of termites and other pests. In addition to needing our property treated for termites, the first issues we had to take care of was the crawl space under our kitchen. The exterior wall of the crawl space needed to be re-built, re-insulated and then properly sealed-off to protect against pests. Although this project was outside of Aetna’s scope of work, Richard took time to advise my contractor on the best material and construction method to use to keep pests and in particular, termites, out. Richard also did a good job coordinating with my contractor so that he could treat the ground within the crawl space before it was sealed off. Finally, Richard offered to come back a few days later to inspect the work of my contractor and make sure he had followed Richard’s instructions before I signed off and paid for the work. Richard and his crew have been very easy to work with and we are extremely happy with all the work they have done and advice we have received. The team is professional and diligent and Richard is very good at taking the time time to explain what needs to be done and why. The team worked efficiently and was respectful of our property. Richard has been back to inspect our property and just as we had hoped, no termites, or any other pests for that matter.     Termite

    4 years ago this company sprayed during a Reno . Currmetky I saw eve fence of activity. They came immediately, sprayed no charge totally professional. I strongly recommend this program

    Rat troubles

    On the helpful and friendly advice of the woman at Aetna, I spent $65 on a squirrel-safe rat trap box and an inside snap trap. I have carefully baited and set it for the last 7 nights. It was tripped the first 4 nights in a row, the bait eaten, but alas, no rat. Just a peanut butter buffet for the lucky rodent. On night 5, I caught a poor squirrel. In my squirrel-proof rat trap. Even after washing it out, I think it must now smell like death, and the rat has stayed away. I should have saved my money and just put out snap traps where the squirrels can't access. Now I have a useless black box, am $65 poorer, and have a very satisfied and chubby rat. Boo.

    Termite inspection

    Richard came out to our house to do an inspection for termites. He quickly identified that the problem was not termites but merely carpenter ants on the outside of the house. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He provided me with feasible options for taking care of the situation and helpful information about my neighbourhood and what to look out for in the future.

    Carpentar ant Spray

    Having seen a number of carpenter ants in our bathroom after destroying a nest outside we called Aetna, a couple of days later they sent someone to spray the outside of the house. We haven't seen any ants in the house since and traps haven't caught any.

    Termite control

    We bought a house that had been infested with termites and hired Aetna to work with us. They have been outstanding to work with during the many phases of making sure that the termites never return. Richard Murphy is obsessed with his work in the best possible way, and gives engaging and well informed explanations about the insects and how to control them. They have come back year after year for annual inspections, as well as having an extra look during renovations, and all the employees have been extremely thorough and professional. I highly recommend this company.

    Suspected Termites

    After finding some strange looking cob web-like structures under the stairs in my basement, I reached out to a couple of pest control companies to help me identify the problem. Liz from Aetna responded immediately and said she would send someone out to have a look at no charge since the images showed that we may have a problem. The next day, the house was inspected by Aetna and we were told we did not have a termite problem, which was a huge relief! I had contacted another company prior to this who diagnosed the issue from the pictures and wanted to come to treat immediately instead of coming to assess the situation. I am glad I contacted Aetna- they are trustworthy and not looking to take advantage of customers. Aetna is honest and knowledgable and I will be using them for any future pest control needs.

    Termites

    We have been customers of Aetna for over ten years and have been blown away by the amazing service and care that Aetna takes in eliminating termites in our house. They follow through, are always fair and clearly explain the job at hand. We highly recommend them.
