The furnace fan won't turn on so I called Aire One to come check it out. The tech (Cyrus) showed up at the allotted time, and told me blower motor is seized. Basically, it is a $2000 fix. And he strongly recommends not to fix it, instead I can buy new furnace and AC units with them.
He then recommended his coworker to come give me the sales pitch in the afternoon. I agreed. The sales person came to pitch me and was not honest about the quote. He included a $300 energy audit review in the quote, where I later found out from other local companies that this will be refunded after the audit. (Note, the energy audit costs $600+HST, and $600 will be refunded by government, so the homeowner bears the HST). Aire One told me they pay half the cost and I should pay the remaining half. They are "nice enough" to bear half the cost when install both furnace and AC; where as if I only install furnace, I should pay them $600.
As for the furnace fan, I got another company to come take a look, they quoted me $700 to fix with parts and labour.
Basically, my service call experience is that I have spent $90 to get them to provide me an dishonest quote on AC and furnace unit.
