A large cherry tree in our front yard split and separated by several inches near the base of the trunk and was in danger of falling on our neighbours' property. The tree is otherwise healthy. The first company we contacted stated that removing the tree was the only option, and they would not consider trying to save the tree. Al Miley & Associates (Rob Jeager) also recommended removal, but also gave us the option of cutting back half the canopy and bracing the tree to stabilize it. The crew showed up on time and completed the job in about 4 hours. The tree looks much better than I was expecting, as after cutting a lot off the top of the tree they carefully 'shaped' the remaining branches to leave a nice, rounded, natural looking canopy. They were respectful of our neighbour with a shared driveway, and only blocked the driveway for about half an hour. They also cleaned up all of the branches and debris on our lawn, driveways and street. We are very pleased with the service that we received.

Al's team was polite and professional. They efficiently completed the job and cleaned up all the debris resulting from their work. I had some old deadwood in the back and they obligingly fed that into their mulching machine. All in all, a neat pruning and tree removal job! Thank you, Al and team.

AL Miley produced a comprehensive arborist report for our committee of adjustment meeting and city hall. The report correctly identified all trees that needed protection and helped easy relations with the neighbours. Al’s tree protection methodology was accepted by urban forestry without questions. Al’s team that trimmed a numbers of large trees on our and the neighbours property were professional, hard working and very tidy. Al himself was on hand to direct the team at the beginning of the job. Al was easy to remain in contact with during the day, and responsive to the changing needs of the job. I saw Al Miley's reviews on Homestars and decided to call them. Rob came out and gave me a quote as well as helpful advice on how to revive my crabapple trees (they had been infested with caterpillars in the spring) i.e. he wasn't pushy at all. The quote was much less expensive than Davey Tree so I went with Al Miley and I was not disappointed. They wrote the arborist report and did all the work in submitting a permit to the City for my Pine tree. Altogether they removed a huge Pine in my backyard which was very close to the house, two crabapple trees and the stumps. All of the workers were very friendly and efficient. I would recommend Al Miley to friends and family.

Top-notch. An excellent experience. The team showed up on time and ready to complete the job. They were pleasant to deal with and answered all our questions. They completed the job quickly and efficiently. As we looked out into the backyard as the job was being completed, we were quite nervous about the mess that might be left behind but they cleaned up beautifully after they were done. They a significant amount of height off of a gigantic oak trunk in the backyard and, on our request, even cut for us two disks of the trunk which we wanted to finish into end table tops! They charged exactly the price quoted which was very reasonble compared to other quotes we had received.

Courteous, informative, responsible company led by an exceptional man. Everyone we talked to as the tree was coming down took the minute to answer our questions. We felt comfortable in leaving town while they were still on the job.Everything was completed exactly as promised.

We had a huge silver maple removed in our backyard and Al Miley's crew showed up during a snow storm ready to work. They were very professional and did an amazing job with removing the tree as well as clean up. They were also the cheapest quote we received out of 8 other companies. We chose Al Miley & Associates completely based on the reviews here on Homestars, and were so glad that we did. We felt nervous at first trusting anyone to prune our giant Austrian Pine at the side of our corner lot. But seeing as the size of the tree was too large for us to manage ourselves, it was imperative for the tree's health to hire a professional. And professional this company is. Really not much more to say -- efficient, effective, easy to work with, and delivered exactly what they promised. Final cost even came in slightly under the estimate. Thanks very much for a job well done; we (and our neighbors!) are very happy, and we will certainly have this company come back for future work.

I used Al Miley to remove a large tree in my front lawn prior to constructing a new home. He was fast and efficient and they left no mess behind. Their work is professional and their prices are fair.

We contracted Al Miley & Associates to remove a huge Manitoba maple which had fallen in our back yard. It was somewhat hazardous (it hadn't fallen all the way to the ground and was being supported by another tree). We first tried an arborist who had been referred by a neighbour who quoted two days labour and a huge sum for the removal. We contacted Al Miley $ Associates and Robert came over to inspect the situation. He quoted 1/2 the price with 3/4 day labour. Two trees were removed yesterday (and pruning) without any problems (in the pouring rain) and the site was cleaned up nicely. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for service and price. The only improvement I would request is next day service - we had to wait a week for the appointment. To their credit however, Robert did drop by the site (on a Saturday) in the interval to check up on the site.
