Had my roof replaced by Better Contracting and when they arrived they found an old wasp nest and a few entrances in the attic. When they showed me I thought it was going to cost a lot more but they said they could replace the damaged wood and seal it up before starting the reroof for just under $100 dollars. That seemed fair and my roof is now completed and Vlad and his crew were amazing! Thank you Better Contracting.

Would have been a good experience but the company has not refunded the amount we overpaid them. The contract was to do two jobs- one is chimney repair (patch base with cement) and to repair dry wall inside the house. With the pandemic we decided to cancel the indoor job. The company received the down payment in mid-March, we did not receive any refund until we followed up after waiting over a month. We eventually received a check (today) for $76 out of the $890 down payment. We are not talking big amounts but I expected better customer service from a professional company. Is it correct to charge $800 for a tiny cement patch that took less than 30 mins to do? But worse the proj mgr estimated our refund as $230. Are we being taking advantaged of because they already have our money and that we are not a major customer?

I requested 3 different quotes and Better Contracting was right in the middle. I am happy I went with them because it's like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for!" Mike took the time to go into detail of the process and what exactly they will be doing. I felt comfortable going with them, not only for the price but mainly for the service! I will definitely refer them to family and friends! A+ Service!

Better Contracting arrived promptly and to review the work required and provide a scope of work and quote. They were able to schedule the work for one week later. They arrived on time, with a 4 man crew, worked all day, and completed the job. I have a construction background and I am satisfied that all the work as done properly. They removed all the waste and their cleanup was very thorough. The lead hand was professional and polite. The rest of the crew worked hard under his direction. I was very pleased with all aspects of the work.

I began my search for CertainTeed Shingles to replace the aging IKO ones I had curling on our roof after only 13 years. Fears of class action law suits(in the case of IKO) for faulty product was not what I wanted to hear. Nearing retirement this was the last roof I wanted to replace. CertainTeed was the brand for us. Then I began my search for contractors. I checked out a few roofers and was eventually referred to Best Contracting Services(BCS) by a friend in the home insurance adjusting business. He had his roof done by BCS as was satisfied. I was less impressed by the fact that Mike Holmes recommends them and more by the people that have used their services. We had the estimates done and short of a few ripples in the beginning getting the workers by when we'd expect them the jobs commenced. The crews showed up before our request and mostly whenever they were free from their previous jobs. However, we stomached that as a small price to pay as the work was very good and we'd highly recommend them. They are not the cheapest contractors but we liked their work and will recommend them. In this world of getting what you pay for...I must caution anyone from looking for a cheap deal on roof repair. A home is likely the most expensive purchase in your lifetime. Treat it with respect and your house will keep you comfortable for years. Thanks to Mike(owner), Christopher and your entire crew for looking after us.

I needed my roof re-shingled and contacted Better Contracting to see about getting my roof done asap. The team at Better Contracting came out and started in very short order. The team worked extremely hard under difficult weather conditions. The job took 2 full days to complete. The Better Contracting team did a great job cleaning up and left the job site extremely clean and tidy. I'm extremely happy with the work completed and definitely would recommend the Better Contracting team for my next project.

There's nothing good about a leaky roof. Especially in the dead of winter. But working with Mike and his team of experts at Better Contracting takes away the stress, the uncertainty and the headache. From our first contact Mike (the owner himself) walked us through what we were facing, using pictures and plain language. Then his team showed up and completed the work professionally, promptly and taking care to be respectful of our home and our neighbours. And the final bill? so much better than expected. Beyond reasonable would be a good way to put it. We've used Better before, but never in an emergency like this. And they saved us!
