    Heating Maintenance Plan

Warning! Be Careful! Don't deal with this company. Check your bill and if you are being charged for a Heating Maintenance Plan confirm that you have coverage and that it is not just a "vacuum out your furnace once a year coverage". This is what happened to me as in July their rep told me on the phone that I had full coverage in the maintenance plan and when my furnace broke down last week and I called them for service - they said that I only have coverage for blowing out the dust once a year. It cost me $771.00 to repair it. I even called to speak to a supervisor and when she called back - she left a voice mail offering to sign me up for full maintenance coverage. They are not interested in speaking or assisting in any way. Warning - DON'T DEAL WITH THEM - they are very unprofessional.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Rita, I'm sorry for the confusion that you experienced I completely understand how frustrated you must feel. I would like to clarify for you that the Furnace Maintenance Plan you have mentioned provides annual maintenance inspections to identify potential problems before they become costly breakdowns. Parts and labour coverage for heating breakdowns are included in our protection plans. We offer a Furnace Protection with Maintenance Plan to cover not only the inspections, but the breakdown coverage as well. Please visit enercare.ca for full details on each plan. If you would like more assistance on this, please email me at support@enercare.ca ~ Kira

    HVAC Services

The technician was pleasant and knowledgeable. The receptionist was helpful and most pleasant and accommodating. The service appointment was done as quickly as it could be. When technician came he was appreciative of the fact it was our home and was very careful of wearing covers over his shoes to prevent any dirt being brought in although I said it really did not matter since I had not done the floors that day. He did everything within a reasonable amount of time.

    Customer Service

The cs who I spoke to let me now that I was signed up for the wrong plan. I asked for an ac plan with maintenance and I was signed up for an ac for only cleaning. She corrected it for me and also brought it to my attention.

    HVAC Installation

Darren Mercer and Derek Bronson who did the installation did a great job and exhibited a high level professionalism and competence. I was provided with directions about how to deal with the equipment and any questions I had were fully answered.

    Protection Plan - broken furance

I have been a customer from Direct Energy for years with their protection plan, paying almost 50.00 a month and supposed to have full protection (heating, AC and plumbing). This summer, after paying for AC protection for a long time, when AC faulted on me, they told me there was nothing they could do (AC too old). Why wouldn't they tell me this when I signed up or moved? I got a new AC from someone else but can't cancel the plan until 1 year anniversary of the plan. Yesterday, my furnace stopped working. Called them up, wasn't able to get a technician to come last night. It was very cold, with the temperature in the house getting to 15C. Today, technician came, said the motor or board were toasted but doesn't have the part on him. It MAY be they will have it tomorrow. In the meantime, my 3 kids and I will freeze in the house. Called their 1800 number, no compensation of any sort, no hotel voucher, nothing, except an apology. I find it unacceptable and won't recommend anyone to sign a maintenance plan with Enercare. Thank you...

    Furnace and Air Conditioning Maintenance

The service providers were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and most efficient. The maintenance plans for both the furnace and air conditioning gave this homeowner not only equipment protection but also peace of mind, knowing our equipment is being well maintained and worry free with Enercare's reliability.

    Furnance

DO NOT PURCHASE A MAINTENANCE PACKAGE! I purchased a heating maintenance package, tech came in on Sept 9 and did a maintenance of the furnace. "All is good" he said..of course it is I have a 4 year old furnace. "You are all set for the winter " he said. Oct 18, I have no heat!! Called in and asked how this could happen..not even a thought to send someone to investigate the issue, since their own tech was here a little over a month ago! Have to pay! Just wrong. Now I have to purchase the protection plan. The techs are nice but the customer service the company provides is unprofessional!!! They don't stand by their word. So now I feel I need to purchase the protection plan and call them daily about what ever just so that they need to send a tech here every day and their costs can rise!

    Hot Water Tank

Hello, A new hot water tank was installed May 13, 2015 but as of today I have not received a bill for the rental or the 100$ pre-paid MasterCard I was told they are experiencing some delays and to wait the initial 3 months which were free and I would be receiving a bill but its now past the 5th month and no bill or pre-paid MasterCard.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Ed, I am so sorry for the delay and I would like to look into this for you. Please email me at support@enercare.ca with your phone number and address and a representative will contact you shortly. I sincerely apologize for this experience. Thanks ~ Kira

    Furnace Maintenance and Repair

Don't ever buy their maintenance plan! They can't deliver. My furnace was found to have a broken heat exchanger during the annual maintenance The technician shut down my furnace and assured me that it would be fixed later that day or the next day, at the latest. Heard nothing from them that day. I called the next morning to check on the status. To my disappointment and utter disbelief, I was told that the problem was not found in their system! The agent created the case and informed the relevant department. She assured me that the problem would be fixed quickly. I called in the afternoon to check on the status. After waiting for more than 40 minutes, I finally got to an agent. Had to repeat the whole story again. Good thing I had asked for the call reference and thus was able to provide the agent with it so that she could follow-up. She supposedly contacted the relevant department was told that someone would call me back to advise on the status. No one called me. Second night without heat when outside temperature is -1. Third day morning, I called Enercare again. Repeat story again. Told me that they have ordered the part and it would be delivered to my house. Then I was to call them to schedule the repair. This is the first time, I heard of this convoluted process. Called again in the afternoon to check on the status since I have yet to receive the part. This time, the agent told me that the part would be delivered to them and they would contact me to schedule the repair. I am wondering which is the correct process after this call. Still no call from Enercare three hours later. Call them back and the agent said that she was not able to get in touch with anyone. The system shows that the part has been ordered. So, I am expecting to go through a third night without heat. Save yourself aggravation and time, Enercare can't deliver on its business. Update Nov 23, 2015 It took them 4 days before my furnace was fixed. The same day response if call is made before 5 pm was not fulfilled. They don't tell you what is happening. The call centre agents don't know the status either ...all the agents can do is to email your concerns to the other departments and the other departments may or may not respond. In my situation, they didn't respond. I faxed the CEO, no response either. After this experience, they did even have the courtesy to call to apologize and try to make good on their failures. My four days without heat was of no concern to Enercare. If they can't deliver when the temperature was zero celsius, I can only imagine how bad it would be when the temperature is in the minus teens. I called yesterday to stop the automatic renewal of my protection plan with them. The cancellation agent offered me a $2 discount for my nasty experience! Next move is to end my water heater rental with them. Enercare does not deserve your business.
