Although the specific service rendered was without an upfront cost, it is part of a monthly care package that I purchase from the service provider, and Tom cared for me as though I were about to spend a million $$ - and that winning attitude is what keeps customers loyal to any given enterprise! Tom modeled true empathy for the issue (failed hot water tank) and provided me with a convenient window of time for the technician to visit. Being a trainer in a call center myself, I recognize world class service, and this call would certainly qualify as an exemplar!
