    HVAC service

    First was just an AC check decided to do Furnace also and did in a very timely manner. Technician same as last year remembered his great sense of humour and helpfulness. A lot of companies don't have that anymore, good to see you do.

    HVAC Service

    The young woman who came to service our air conditioner was great. She answered all our questions thoroughly, gave us some suggestions, set up duct cleaning for us and was very friendly and cheerful. What a representative for Direct Energy! I told everyone I talked to how happy we were with the maintenance call.

    Furnace Maintenance

    Do not sign up for their furnace maintenance program. I learnt - painfully - that is a thinly-veiled scheme to allow them to come into your home to "inspect" your furnace and aha! discover that you have a major fault (which NEVER affected the unit's safety or efficiency before they showed up...). Then they RED TAG your unit - which forbids you from legally using it again. One second, you have a perfectly-functional, safe furnace that you'd hoped to keep in tip-top shape by having it cleaned by those who purport to be experts. Next minute, you're told that it has a cracked housing which could leak carbon monoxide and kill you and your family. Of course, they won't explain why you really, really, cannot see this minuscule crack they claim to have uncovered in the innards of your unit. Nor can they explain why your carbon monoxide detectors do not show any elevated levels of the gas in spite of this horrible crack they say they've found. What is important, is that they've got you. It's mid-winter and they've slapped a RED TAG on your unit (which, I remind you, was humming along fine until the moment they showed up) - you cannot use the unit until you drop a couple thousand dollars on these replacement blower motors or wait, better still, you should buy a new furnace and BY THE WAY, the inspector just happens to have some of them on special now! I've cancelled my contract and will never have this company darken my doors again. I urge you to NEVER have them inspect your furnace, ever. Especially not during or close to winter. If your furnace is more than say, eight or nine years old, they *WILL* find some imperfection. They WILL turn off your furnace and legally forbid you from turning it back on. THEY will try to sell you a replacement unit. I did not find them competent or ethical. Avoid them.

    GAS FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER

    My 29 year old central air conditioner finally gave up the ghost and since my furnace was also over 32 years old, it was time to replace both. I called Direct Energy and made an appointment for the following week. The gentleman came who came out to quote was extremely knowledgeable and competent. He was friendly and polite and I was pleased to deal with him. It was Monday night and my new system was fully installed on Thursday, that same week. Its been about a week now and everything is working perfectly, and I can say that because given the silly weather, I have used both the furnace and the a/c already! I would highly recommend Direct Energy given my experience so far.

    We have been customers of Direct Energy for some time now and always have received 1st rate service. I often recommend you to family and friends without hesitation! Your staff whether by phone or your technicians are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This gives terrific peace of mind and it's a pleasure dealing with them. Keep up the great work!!

    Polaris Hot Water Heater @ more than $40/Month

    Direct Energy Suck at Service, called 5pm Saturday night and US Call Center advised next available appointment Monday noon to 4pm, Advised Call Centre That Was Not Acceptable, she went silent on the line??? Like it or lump it! Asked for Canadian Contact Number, "Isn't one" Asked who would be attending, "doesn't Know" Asked if anyone working this weekend, "Didn't know" Previously without hot water heat for week at New Years. Surprises, service guy showed up at 1015am Monday and couldn't fix the Polarus 34 so he called for a new replacement and advised they couldn't get a replacement till Wednesday 8am til noon Wednesday 1130 now show or call, called Direct Energy and their telephone, on line person, advised they had no idea if someone was on route, held up or what and to call them back at 1230 if no one shows up. About 5 minutes after I called the installer called and advised he was on route from Peterborough with new tank. At 1230 Surprise! Surprise! Installer arrives with tank and helper, advises monthly will increase from $43 to $51plus for replacement. (hot water, no hot water?) New Polarus 34 installed. It now costs more for the rental than for the natural gas I use for the dryer, stove, water heater, (including house heating) BBQ, and fireplace. I've always wondered why Direct Energy sends me all this email service about servicing my gas appliances when they have never serviced their water heaters that I have rented from them over the past 20 years and the only time they do any service is when I call them with a break down of their equipment. Both the service guy from Scarborough and Installer from Janetville were nice guys and seemed to know their jobs. If I thought I could get a suitable water heater elsewhere I would.

    HVAC Service

    I would like to thank the technicican Alex. Every time he was due to arrive, he would call ahead to advise he was on his way. He fixed the issues and was very thorough in completing the job. He also explained what we could do to prevent issues from arising in the future. Thank again for excellent customer service.

    The Technician was very patient as the situation at hand was intermittent. He gave extra time for the issue to present itself and once it did, he diagnosed it and ordered the replacement parts as required. Thank you Direct Energy for great customer service.
