    Left in the freezing cold

I have a Heating Protection Plan with Enercare and a fairly old furnace. I have had the plan for about 18 years. In January Enercare scheduled a routine cleaning service call on my furnace. The furnace had been working just fine and they hadn't been to my home in 2 years. The service provider showed up on a Friday in January to conduct the routine service call. After the call he refused to turn the furnace back on. He claimed the furnace was unsafe and issued a 'tag'. Me and my family were left without any heat in Ontario for the entire weekend. I called another heating repair company and they said it was a common part that needed to be replaced and the service provider should have had the part on hand, but he never offered to fix it. He also said that with old furnaces, Enercare has a reputation of doing this sort of thing to pressure people into buying a new furnace. After this experience I was not willing to let Enercare service providers into my home. I lost all faith in them. So I wanted to cancel my protection plan. I would rather pay someone else to come for repairs than deal with them. Upon cancellation, they insisted that I could only cancel my plan in May and I could cancel my plan, but I would have to continue to pay for it until May. Another 167$ out of my pocket for this experience. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of my rented water heater. I would highly discourage anyone from dealing with this company. Their service was horrible. To leave children with no heat for three days in the middle of winter, a disgrace.

Annual service and maintenance for 2 residential gas fireplaces

The Enercare service technician indicated the testing procedure was completed for both fireplaces. This test was to determine possible leaks from the gas valve and gas supply piping. The readings were taken to determine the carbon monoxide level and the heat output (BTUs) at low flame and high flame settings. The technician also explained the meaning of the carbon monoxide readings. The fireplace logs were cleaned and replaced. The gasket between the glass and the sheet metal box of the fireplace was also inspected. The stains were removed from the glass. The connection between the remote controls and the sensor on the battery pack at the fireplaces was also tested. The technician explained what to be watchful of regarding potential safety issues. I was impressed with the Enercare technician's willingness and patience to answer my questions regarding safety of the two fireplaces. The technicians carefully placed the protective blanket on the floor before working and they cleaned all areas well when leaving. Both technicians were both polite. I was impressed with the professionalism of both technicians. The second technician was in training.

    Furnace repair, annual maintenance

The motor was not providing enough pressure to keep the pilot light on . It was diagnosed and then replaced by Peter Bhatti. He was very thorough and explained everything. He was polite, observed all the COVID protocols when in the house. Have the maintenance insurance plan so no charges at time of repair.

    Furnace and Heating Maintenance

Enercare Technician Ben came in to clean and do maintenance check on my furnace on Tuesday September 8 2020. He is very professional and takes good care of our furnace. He knows what to check out to make sure our furnace is maintained properly and ensure that no carbon monoxide is leaking. He cleans our filter. He makes sure our thermostat is working properly. As a bonus, he is polite, arrives on-time and works swiftly and efficiently. The customer service persons at Enbridge are also polite and always help me choose the right services I need and at prices that are reasonable and best for my budget!

HVAC Replacement (Air conditioner, furnace, and thermostat.)

Was told my equipment was well passed replacement date. (21 years). Have been dealing with Enercare and its predecessors for 29 years. Company is very professional and attentive to my heating, air conditioning and water heater needs. They installed the equipment both times and have maintained them during all these years. They may not be the cheapest company but I have always enjoyed dealing with them. They were totally professional, and I got some good incentives for doing the work now (September). I would highly recommend them for repairs, maintenance, and replacement of old equipment.

Water heater, furnace and air conditioner installation

We moved into a new home and the water heater, furnace and air conditioner were all over 20 years old. I called Enercare one morning about replacing the old water heater and getting a quote on a new furnace. They sent Joe to my house that afternoon. Joe assessed our current appliances and duct work and came up with an affordable and non-invasive plan to replace everything. The installation was scheduled and completed a week later. The tradespeople who performed the installation put in a very long day but were careful to clean up after themselves and show us how to use the equipment even after working for 11+ hours. Overall a great experience.

    Furnaces Maintenance

Grant was punctual, and explained everything he was doing in detail. I have two furnaces and he informed me of the differences between them and about the little I need to do to keep them operating efficiently between Enercare's annual maintenance visits.
