We have used Dr. Green for fertilizing service for 5 years and were happy with the overall service and our lawn, in fact I wrote a positive review a few years ago. Last spring they called and offered a power raking and I accepted as we have quite a large yard. I was home when the guys came and I was stunned when after maybe 15 minutes they were leaving and I had watched the guy do our back yard and he literally walked the machine down the middle of the yard. I ran outside to ask if they were finished as the grass looked terrible and hadn’t even been touched in places and they said yes they were done. There was a garbage bag only a ¼ filled with the grass they had picked up and I have a large corner lot that should have yielded a lot more dead grass. I was stunned and livid. I contacted their head office (everyone by now knows that to get through is a joke, they take a message and no one calls back but that’s another story) and requested that they refund my money as this was a complete rip off as they didn’t perform the work, it was down right unethical. They wouldn’t refund my money and would only offer a free over seeding which I didn’t need.
If the company had refunded my money and apologized for the poor work I probably would have kept using them for the fertilizing, however given how I was ripped off and then treated by the rude unhelpful staff at head office I have cancelled their services.
I have a friendly tip to save money. Over the years I have noticed that I have a few neighbors who use this same lawn service and their lawn doesn’t look any where near as nice as mine. The only reason my lawn looks so much nicer is that I have a sprinkler system which automatically waters my lawn...don’t waste your money on service that is sketchy and unethical, invest in a sprinkler system and you’ll be amazed!
