    Main floor refresh, bathroom renovation

    I contacted Fine Finishes for help with a main floor upgrade. It was time to upgrade the flooring on the main floor and the upstairs. At the same time I wanted to consider how we could better make use of our main floor and our small semi detached home. Andrea came in and quickly helped develop a plan to tackle what was most important to us. We replaced the subfloors and flooring with a material we would never have considered before and love the result. We opened up walls and replaced the main staircase. We replaced the mismatched trim work throughout the house restoring it to the original style. Our tired 90 year old house looks refreshed and contemporary and the family is making better use of the main space. There is more light and sense of larger space. The new front hall storage unit has changed the way we function daily and looks beautiful. I never thought I could have this much flexible storage! The vision for the basement bathroom is elegant and practical and we can't wait to enjoy it. Fine Finishes held their contractors to a high standards and advocated for us when the execution details needed further attention. Andrea and Nelson have great respect for their clients homes and the impact a renovation has on the homeowners. Andrea's design guidance gave me great confidence in making decisions that will last for years to come and streamlined the entire process. She listened to all of my questions, concerns and considerations and worked to find solutions that suited the needs of my family. At every step I felt that I could count on her to come through as the project required. No detail was too small for her time and attention. Her colour choices, sourcing and ability to bring all the design elements together was spot on, we love the transformation of our home.

    Thank you for your review Quinn. It's quite incredible how bright and spacious your home now looks as a result of removing the wall and replacing the stairs . We used 3D modelling to determine the best course of action and furniture placement so that you could see your home as it could be , before any construction was done. We find this works wonderfully as it's often difficult for people to envision the end result. The materials and colours that we chose work seamlessly with elements of the home that were untouched. Clients are trusting us quite often with your biggest investment and we do not take that lightly. We have been in business over 20 years and have heard horror stories from clients on previous experiences. We take pride in what we do and how we do it - with honesty and integrity.     Stairs and bedroom

    Our staircase, hallway and bedroom all on the second floor badly needed an upgrade as they had not been done in over 30 years. So, my first choice is Fine Finishes, as they have always excelled for us in the past. And this time as well. I was thrilled with the end result, so classy and modern at once! And the attention to detail was amazing. Andrea and Nelson made sure that everything was done to perfection - and they strongly advocated for us when something was not done quite to their high standards, to make it right! They receive my highest recommendation. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you!

    project management

    We used Fine Finishes for yet another project. The project management was fantastic and any problems that arose were dealt with immediately. Suggestions are available for everything from draperies to colours. Thanks again. Looking forward to our next project!

    Replacement of front door & windows

    I have used Fine Finishes Design Inc. for several design projects in my home & have always had a great experience, with the results exceeding my expectations. Therefore, recently, when I was considering replacing my front door & windows, my first step was to call Andrea at Fine Finishes & get her involved in the project. I was confident that her knowledge, design expertise & attention to detail, would be invaluable. Once again, she did not disappoint. I am delighted with the choices I have made, with Andrea’s help & guidance. The impact on the curb appeal of my home will be amazing!     Kitchen Family Room Renovation

    We used Andrea of Fine Finishes as part of our renovation team when redesigning our kitchen/family room area. Andrea's professionalism, her knowledge of design, colours and referrals to suppliers for furniture and décor items was amazing. Her ability to translate our likes/dislikes into the final product alleviated a lot of stress and pressure. I would highly recommend Andrea to anyone considering a remodel - her style, manner of operation and ability to integrate the new design into existing elements of our home were the perfect balance.

    Design consult on reno

    We sought specific design input from Andrea on a reno we were doing (redoing the basement and the front of the house). She had great ideas and really helped us focus our decision-making without being pushy. I'm looking forward to working with Andrea when we get started on our kitchen!

    Design consultation

    My experience with Fine Finishes Design Inc. has been nothing short of excellent. I have used Andrea's services before, around 5 years ago, to choose paint colours and I was very happy with what she recommended for my children's rooms back then. I did not hesistate to call her again as we just purchased a new house and I wanted to change the paint colours. Andrea comes ultra-prepared with her suitcase on wheels filled with paint colour swatches, and she is so organized! She gives you paint samples right then and there on a page with the colour names on it, so it's easy to keep track of everything in the folder she gives you. She recommended colours with certain undertones and steered me away from others, depending on the light in the room, colour of the flooring, furniture, etc. She also helped me choose lighting and I am so glad I had her help; I avoided mistakes that would have been very costly! Andrea's choices were very wise and her expertise was evident in all the amazing advice that she gave. We ran out of time at the house for our buyer's visit and she met me afterwards at a coffee shop to continue the meeting to ensure we covered everything. She was prompt in returning calls, punctual, very professional, and so pleasant and easy to get along with! I am very grateful for her help and will be calling her again after we move to have her assist me in placing art work, etc. in our new home. I won't hesitate to call her again in future for any design advice I may need.

    Living Room Design Refurbish and Upper Floor Furniture and Decor Upgrades

    I contacted Andrea of Fine Finishes Design Inc. for assistance with some furniture and decorating upgrades for our living room as well as some decor recommendations and planning for the dining room, front hall and master bedroom. Her initial consult and site inspection of our home was comprehensive and quite complete. She dedicated a total of four hours plus travel for the process - a commitment of time that was greatly appreciated. Andrea initiated a discussion of our budget from the beginning of the consult and as the site inspection continued, made excellent suggestions for improving several rooms in the house - all of which were practical and within our budget. I found that Andrea has a great ability to connect with her clients and to quickly develop an excellent rapport with them. Her knowledge, experience, and network backup of proven, reliable trades professionals is another asset to her design operation that I personally appreciated. Unfortunately, our work together abruptly ended with the complication of my illness and we were not able to progress further with the project. I would heartily recommend Andrea to anyone seeking professional interior design services. Her professional approach, creativity, and experience are impressive! I extend my thanks for the work she did for us and wish her all the best for the future!

    Main floor renovations

    This summer, we renovated the main floor of our home. I definitely could not have done this without Andrea's help. She is professional and responds immediately to any questions, comments or concerns. Andrea and Nelson (the project manager), were always honest, reliable, hard-working and a pleasure to deal with. Every promise they made was kept, and we were amazed at their attention to every single detail. I cannot say enough good things about them. We are so pleased with how everything turned it. The final product exceeded our expectations - for example, the wainscotting was not done in a typical way - it actually looks like a piece of art, and guests are amazed at the workmanship. We will definitely use their services when we are ready to do some renovations upstairs. Thanks again to Andrea and her team! I've never been so excited to cook and clean my kitchen!

Adding the lighted, glass upper cabinets to your existing kitchen and painting everything white gave it new life. New quartz counter and backsplash tied it all together. I agree, beautiful kitchen does make cooking more fun! By using the same flooring throughout the main floor (with the exception of the foyer, powder room and laundry room) it feels much larger and unified. The wallpaper we installed in the powder room along with the floating vanity looks absolutely gorgeous! And of course we can't forget the wainscoting. Taking the time to lay entire out the plan before hand ensured the best results. The colours we selected for the walls work perfectly with everything even your existing furniture.
