That's usually because they don't know how to fix your fireplace or carry the parts on their service vehicle. At Gas Fix, our technicians have over 300+ of the most common parts on the vehicle and that would include the gas valve and pilot assembly to complete a mercury flame switch conversion. We normally don't go to London so it does help being related to the office administrator to make arrangements especially easy for you. As soon as I saw the make and model of the gas fireplace, I knew exactly what was required to get the unit working again. As the mercury flame switch failed, you needed to upgrade the unit with a new gas valve and a new pilot assembly. We had both parts on the service vehicle. Thank you for contacting Gas Fix and having Dwayne service your Jandy pool heater. Unfortunately, pool heaters do fail over time and require replacing. We replaced the Jandy with a Raypak pool heater. At the same time, we upgraded the install to include bonding wire and a check valve as required for warranty purposes. When the unit started to leak, we were able to get a replacement unit from Raypak to install. We are happy that the outcome worked for all parties involved.
